So wildcard has been played, going a bit different for the New Year.
    All comments welcome please!

    Mannone, McGregor
    Baines, Cahill, Sagna, Ward, Chester
    Hazard, Walcott, Toure, Eriksen, Cabaye
    Suarez, Berahino, Chamakh

Thought it was a bit different, wildcard active so subject to change

B-Bash – I noticed that, remarkably, you were outside the top 1 million after GW 5 – with presumably your WC helped in sparking your incredible rise to #62 in the world. So I checked, and to confirm my suspicions, you were ranked #4 in the world for Quarter 2. Sensational stuff mate. I’ll know who to come to when I do my WC jn late Jan 😉

OK guys, you’ll recall there was a lot of discussion a couple of weeks ago as to whether 3-5-2 should be employed, the plan being to sacrifice a striker for a monster midfield. In view of the Jan WC, and that I still have my season-long WC, I decided to experiment with 3-5-2 a couple of GWs ago. It seems to have paid off, as it has allowed me to climb over 100,000 places in the overall rankings in that time.

I’ve just played by Jan WC, and my current squad is as follows:

    Mannone Speroni
    Coleman Ward Williamson Bardsley Chester
    Walcott Silva Yaya Hazard Cabaye
    Suarez Lukaku Berahino

My plan is to sacrifice my defense for a monster midfield. With some expected price rises between now and 11 Jan, my plan is to introduce Gerrard into that midfield in place of Cabaye. Will also consider Aguero in place of Lukaku when fit.

    I’m excited!

You are doing really well, good luck with the new team …… The old one was not bad though – it beat me in Potty’s h2h league.

    NIN says:

It will be an interesting captain pick next GW,Liverpool,Chelsea and Arsenal all have potential tricky away ties and United were really poor against Spurs…

Haha,What’s the craic init how things?

        • inittowinit says:

Ok thanks NIN. I think! Bit disappointed with us drawing with Stoke today but whatever I guess – you can’t win every game.

        • NIN says:

Cool.Stoke is never a nice place to go,two good fixtures next up though,in preparation for the derby..things look good for Everton.Wish i could say the same about United,i had confidence about this season but we’re slipping big time,we need to get the next few transfer windows right, cant have another sham like the last one..

NIN – I’m ruling United (Rooney) out because of Rooney’s deep position and their performance today. Interesting you think it’s tough for them all, here’s how I’d rank it, starting with the easiest tie out of those mentioned above:

      1) Arsenal v Villa
      2) Liverpool v Stoke
      3) Chelsea v Hull
      4) City v Newcastle

Though 1 & 2, and also 3 and 4, could arguably swap round. So, like this week (when I bottled in on Walcott when he was flagged yesterday) I feel it’s between Walcott and Suarez again. After seeing the amount of chances Wally had today, and given it’s Villa – Stoke are undefeated in their last 6 at home actually – my captain pick will be Walcott. Where do you stand mate?

      • NIN says:

jamesimmo – yep,any one of them could prove to be a tricky tie i think. It will depend on what happens through the next week or so,if Ozil & Ramsey return then i’d sway towards Walcott,it’s hard to pick,i kind of fancy Silva/Yaya to do well this week and may be a sneaky move, could be a high scoring one that..2-2/3-2 or some such..Suarez is the safe bet again.

Pffft, on the fence, shocking NIN 😉 haha I kid, will definitely be suspect to change, a lot can (and probably will) happen in 10 days. Hopefully not injury wise though, as I hope to save my FT this week, and employ a sneaky 2-move plan in GW 22 which could be huge… again, will change accordingly, I guess we’ll see.

          Night all.

        • NIN says:

Indeed haha,it’s not an easy call, good luck.

        • Veer says:

That’s what people said about arsenal vs Newcastle (that it will be a high scoring game)
