So back to the original question: Kolarov for Azpi or Cahill?

M&B – Cahill, attacking threat and bonus point advantage.

      The B says:

Chelsea has Spurs and Arsenal in next 4GWs, so CS potential is not that high to be honest. You might as well buy Cahill/Terry to feel secure while playing them because they are a goal threat.

Pick Azpi if you are into budget defence like me, who only pick defenders for CS potential and nothing else. smile

      • yeah The B been thinking of budget.. I’ve got Collins/Chester for cheapies.. the Baines will be the next cheapie..

      • Chelsea cleanie is actually higher in big games! Mourinho has his tactics spot on! Chelsea defensive coverage is becoming something of a necessity I think..I am even considering on doubling up! Would go for Cahill since he is cheaper than Ivan. But Ivan if you can afford it!

        • I made the transfer for Cahill. I thought about Ivan, but thought I’d save the 0.5/0.6 for my other transfer..

One more FT and 1.3 in the bank, now I have to get either Gnabry, Eriksen, or Dzeko out.

        • Dzeko first priority maybe since he for sure won’t play in next 2 and may not even play after that. The two others have an outside chance of playing next match. Dzeko to Ade perhaps?

    Hey chaps…

    FYI

Ref “bonus points” on the new Ultimate FPL .

    Under frequently asked questions.
    Player data:
    When is the game updated?

“Player points are updated as the matches take place, whilst team points and league tables are usually updated 2 hours after the final whistle in the last game of the day.

Bonus points will be awarded on the Monday morning after the weekend matches are played. Any matches played on a weekday night will be awarded on the following morning.”

My 3 theories for these “bonus points” are
    1/ an error
2/ could they be talking about the extra points players already get ie….c.b.i / key passes etc /
Maybe they were meant to be updated on Mondays / next day, but decided to add straight away..?
3/ more bonus points we’re unawhere of..?

    Have I missed something ….?

    Thoughts..!

I’m actually starting to think that selling Suarez for Aguero once he’s back might be the easiest and best way to bring Sergio back in without making too many sacrifices elsewhere. Suarez has almost slipped into a Rooney-esque role where he’s out wide and tracking back really deep to help out all the time and build up the play from the back.

Sturridge and even Sterling have looked the most likely to score and have played the furthest up field the past few weeks. All the top players in my mini league have Suarez (but not Sturridge), and I DO have Sturridge, so I’m seriously considering dropping Luis for Aguero when he’s back fit.

Does that sound like a reckless move? It feels scary to even think about doing that given Suarez’s form earlier in the season, but his new role in the team seems to have really dampened his offensive threat quite a bit.

      The B says:

That sounds like a good move. But earlier in the season i tried going with Sturridge and didnt have Suarez, and it hurt me a lot.

I have not been watching Liverpool’s games lately, but i still think that every game its a 50/50 chances of either player outscoring the other.

Im too afraid to go that lane given the fact that Suarez takes quite a lot of shots each games.

      • RedVT says:

Sturridge is definitely playing the highest up and his positioning, along with his selfishness with the ball, are meaning he has many more scoring chances. Suarez seems much more apt to get the ball and play others in, while Sturridge is looking to take players on and shoot, even when a pass would be a better option.

That selfishness is good to a point- especially if he’s in your fantasy team, but you can see how much it frustrates his teammates (Suarez especially) when he doesn’t take the option to pass the ball.

Anyway, if it keeps on like this I think dropping Suarez for Aguero could be a very good move. Of course it could backfire and totally destroy my season, but that’s what makes it fun I suppose! Ha.

How did you end up doing this week B? I ended up with 60 points even after Vlaar lost me 7 at the death and I captained Suarez over Sturridge (again). All in all not too bad I guess.

        • The B says:

Did just okay Red with 58 points.

Same here, captained Suarez over Sturridge. The only thing going for me this GW was playing Olsson over Coleman. laugh

i definately understand what you mean and iwas considering that myself, but suarez really could explode at anytime and what i feel is that soon, he’ll be pushed into the middle role and sturridge will be pushed out wide.

the thing is, that everyone has him, so if he scores, you’re sort-of on a -6 already.

he still is geting point, but only 5 every week rarther than 11.

but, that being said, it is for aguero, and aguero is amazing!
seems city really do miss their front man alot.
he’s always in the goals and when he’s in form he is a must have definately.

what im saying, is suarez definately isn’t in form by his standards, but isn’t doing terribly really, just not amazing. I think you do need aguero, but i’m personally going to keep suarez, even purely for potencial.

Nice cheeky bonus point from Williamson, happy. 71 points and should have green arrows when the leagues update. I did worse on UFPL, which is actually rather funny, I took a captain punt on Adebayor, haha.

Anyway, Toure’s out now and I’ve got Nolan in, which I’m sure many will have chosen. Next week I’ll probably be benching Suarez and Sturridge, and then seeing how many players don’t play, and if I think it’s worth it, I’ll take a hit to field 11. We’ll see.
