Lads, best midfielder under 8.3? Going between Coutinho and Antonio. Thoughts?

      banjomaker says:

IMO Coutinho is the much better player our of those two, but due to probable gametime and fixtures I think I’d choose Antonio. The other budget midfielder that’s paying off for me at the moment is Snodgrass. Maybe look at an Everton option? Or just go Capoue and hope he’s the new Mahrez 😉

      • MayAr says:

Already have Capou and Lukaku so Everton is covered. I just don’t think Snodgrass will continue his form for long.

        • banjomaker says:

You’re probably right about Snodgrass, but I hope not! I think I’d go Antonio if I were you. Fixtures look really nice too. I’m currently sat on Lamela and wishing he was Antonio.

I think that might have been the worst week of FPL in my 4 year history. Went from 1st to 4th in my ML and 150k to 613k overall.

Already made my transfers this week, but ready to take hits this week. My team sucks.

    Colriles,
I’m Wcing to solve at least 6 problems. (FFFix shows that many leaders in years past have actually moved in gw2!). Dilemma. I like to have at least 3 players I feel comfortable putting the C on-hard rule of thumb from years past. At the moment, I have Aguero, Ibra and Hazard. Problem. I could trade Hazard out for Firmino and Barkley/Bolasie. I’m tempted, but I’m breaking a cardinal informal rule. Advice?

      Colriles says:

Hey KI, I’m gonna keep Haz for awhile, still think he should come good. I’ve also brought in Capoue (too late I’m sure) and this could free up funds to go Redmond > Coutinho/Firmino? Barkley > Bolasie seems a bit sideways but since you’re on a WC go with your gut.

Now do the opposite of everything I just said! 😉

      • KI says:

        Coiriles,
No, it’s very good advice. I’ve got both Hazard and Capoue, but used the funds to shift Gray to Benteke. I’m a bit wary of Klopp’s rotation of his midfield. I’m never sure who to bet on.

    RedVT says:

Hey fellas, any opinions on these WC drafts? First one sacrifices Ibra in a 3-4-3 and has Capoue as 1st sub, second one keeps Ibra and plays a 3-5-2 with Capoue on the field. Any opinions or improvements?

    Jaku Pickford
    Kosc Williams Holebas (Amat Kingsley)
    Sanchez Firmino Sterling Antonio (Capoue)
    Aguero Lukaku Deeney

    Aguero Ibra (Diomande)

      swampster says:

Not sure either keeper is nailed on longer term, Kingsley could be under threat as well, I prefer the front 8 of the first team but I would be downgrading somewhere to upgrade a keeper

      • RedVT says:

Thanks swampster, much appreciated mate. Yeah, the keepers are a bit of a gamble but I think after some halfway decent performances they should keep their place in the sort term anyway. Amat and Kingsley are dicey too, lol. Trying to scrimp so I can get Kosc in there for Arsenal’s good stretch of matches coming up. My thought is that between the two one of them should play if I ever need them to come off the bench. Tough getting all the players I want in without a few risky cheapos in there!! Thanks again for your thoughts, still a work in progress. smile

        • swampster says:

My WC is quite similar, as long as you have a plan for keepers then team looks great, I am going without Ibra and looks like I am leaning towards Lukaku rather than Costa

        • RedVT says:

Swampster, I had Costa too and already binned him to try and catch a couple price rises before deadline. He’s in good form but the bonus system doesn’t favor his style of play (actually, I think it has a personal vendetta against him!) and he inevitably gets a yellow card. So unless he gets multiple goals or an assist to go along with scoring, you’re looking at a lot of 5 pointers for a guy who is soon to cost 10 mil. I’d rather have Lukaku who doesn’t even need to touch the ball to score points! laugh

i prefer the 1st option Red, that midfield is really a strong one..
but do agree with swampster, you need one better keeper than those 2..

      DMC says:

Red – all I can really say is that if I was on a WC right now I would surely manage to include Alexis, KdB and Aguero in the team.

      • RedVT says:

Thanks DMC. With Aguero back do you think KDB will continue his point tallies? I’m definitely going double City attack, just thinking that Sterling offers better value. I’ll have a play around and see what I can come up with including KDB instead though.

        • chins says:

          Hi Red, Hi DMC,

I was chatting about this earlier… Migs actually researched it for us and found that in 20 games with Kun, KDB has averaged 5.4 points. And without him (over 9 games) 6.8 points.

So you could say there is a drop off in his returns, but they’re still decent.

        • RedVT says:

Hey Chins, thanks mate. Nice to see you on the boards and happy to have some actual stats to think about! smile

        • DMC says:

Hi Chins – yeah stats are good but then there are the facts. And the fact is that is a great player and an in form one. Those stats are interesting but at the same time not surprising given that everybody elses Numbers are poorer when that man Aguero is on the pitch. Still good Numbers for the kid as you say though so I’d still support him over any other mid right now. Him and Alexis, of course.
