Live Match Chat Game-week 6 FPL News
Welcome to Live Match Chat Game-week 6 FPL News: Our game-week kicks off at lunchtime on Saturday as an under pressure United host reigning champions Leicester. 3pm on Saturday brings us six games with Bournemouth hosting an inform Everton side. Can Lukaku’s form continue? Liverpool play host to Hull. Can the reds find a way to beat a team they’re expected to sweep aside? Spurs travel up to Teeside to face Boro. How will they cope without Harry Kane? Stoke host West Brom in what is likely to be a snoozefest. There’s likely to be another snoozefest on Wearside as Sunderland host Palace. Our final 3pm game sees City travel to Wales for a game which will hopefully see a certain Argentine run riot. Saturday comes to a conclusion at 5:30pm when 4th place Arsenal host 5th place Chelsea in a London derby that is rarely dull.
Just the one game on Sunday afternoon as West Ham host Southampton. The Hammers are in disarray having lost three on the bounce conceding 11 goals in the process while Southampton will hope to build upon their victory over Swansea last weekend which was their first of the season.
Our game-week concludes on Monday night when Watford travel to Burnley. Watford have been the surprise team this season and Etienne Capoue has been the FPL gift which keeps on giving. This could very well be the first game in which many FPL managers actually play the Frenchman…you just know what’s going to happen!!

Just Adrian and Pieters I’m not keen on in that squad, to be honest. I would say Diomande too, but I’m guessing you’re going with a 3-5-2 formation and therefore having a cheap forward to sit on the bench instead of a mid?
(in reply to comment #192)
Yup swirly, I see value in mids right now and so am going for 3-5-2; honestly see no difference right now with a 4.5m DM or a 4.5m forward who will both start only as a last resort (unless you got Capoue cheap from the start…)
Should I give Adrian a chance based on their fixtures or just switch him out? The defence looks fine based on fixtures but none of them can defend for their lives right now (Stoke and WHam especially!!!)
I’d say to keep him for now, as you could always play Pickford instead if you wished. For what it’s worth, I think both keepers will probably get about the same amount of points this weekend with their respective fixtures. I’d say to keep hold of your transfer for now and then you have two to play with in the international break.
Just seen the 6 top scoring players so far are midfielders, and 10 out of the 11 in best form players are also mids :biggun:
Surely seems the place to invest a lot of money? But so many options hahaha! Here’s a question: which mids do y’all think should be considered must haves or near-must haves? With KDB out I think Sterling’s ownership is going up which makes it risky not to have him with his form, and Alexis of course for his great form and fixtures, and then a Liverpool mid seems crucial, though which one?? Seems like just a matter of luck which one is going to perform FPL wise on which day. Then also Capoue, with his fantastic value and good fixtures, which leaves one spot left. Son maybe? He’s scored 4 and assisted 1 in the last 3 games, and a lot of teams I’ve seen don’t have Tottenham coverage despite them being 2nd. That’s 5 mids, but there’s still the likes of Fer and Antonio to think about…
Having 5 mids who will play almost every week then brings a selection headache of who to bench from the front 8! I myself am thinking of playing my AOA chip next GW. Another question: is it important to have some United coverage? Rashford is going to be transferred in a lot this week, but I don’t think he’s 100% nailed on, and United got Pool and Chelski away after their home game against Stoke, plus they lost their last 2 in the league before the win over Leicester. Other than that, I think most will agree Aguero is a must have for attack, and maybe the only one?
Thoughts everyone?
I can’t cope with studying and reading your comment at the same time Veer, too much information!
Anyway, I think your question is which midfielder to double on eh? Most have Sterling + Aguero, Ozil/Sanchez, Liverpool mid, WHam mid and an extra slot of possibly Capoue.
I personally don’t think Capoue will keep up his figures and with Giroud back and Liverpool on hot form, you can consider doubling up on either team! Wouldn’t go for Son personally as his fixtures are poor
Veer
If I had a wildcard today:
Sanchez
Ozil
Sterling
Coutinho
Lallana
Don’t know what the rest of the squad would look like.
Where do we start Veer MF player must only two for me KDB & Sanchez , at present one of any of the four Pool mf players in this order for me Firmino , Coutinho , Mane Lallana , cheap options Capoue / Snoddgrass / Fer Ones to watch Payet , Mah , Eriksen , Antonio , Walcot , Mata , Son , Haz , Tadic take your pick when fixtures form good.
I’m not taking any United but that’s just my opinion could be a big mistake but we cant have every one.
Kun is the only must in att for me, as and when I will swap & change the rest.
Not sure if I covered everything there 😉
Ok everyone, I’ve got issues. One ft. What should I do with it?
Shaw, Kingsley, or Fer out? For who? Hold it for the IB?
And what should I do with Sturridge? Will he play enough to keep him or downgrade to Defoe/Rashford and upgrade Fer to Pool coverage?
Thanks all for everything! #FF247Squad
Hey Pancho that sound like a good move Sturridge to Rashford & get Cout or Lall for Pool coverage deal with other issues after IB 😉
hi Pancho,
handling the Sturridge issue must be fun.. ok just kidding it’s not an easy one. i’d keep him for one more week, he can be a great differential, and use the FT for replacing Shaw if needed.. otherwise keep the FT and sort this out next week without a hit
Sturridge is beating up your midfield budget mate….. I understand why you got him in but looks to be the way to free up funds and upgrade your mids….. Maybe give him another week and make the call during international break. Good luck
Hi all, start of the week thoughts on my team? Got nothing in the bank and 1FT.
Karius – Pickford
Vertonghen – Williams – Prodl – Francis – Amat
Payet – Walcott – Firmino – Bolasie – Whelan
Ageuro – Ibra – Janssen
Only wildcarded in the week just gone so fairly happy with the squad as it is. Janssen to Defoe/Austin is what I’m currently considering.
hi AT,
strong team mate, I’d keep as it is. Spurs cover can be useful.. even City do concede
Hi Dawids. True they do, but can’t see them conceding more than one aha. 2FTs for the IB would be handy though.
yes, Defoe/Austin/Rashford can outscore him easily, but i wouldn’t feel myself uncomfortable with Janssen.
True, cheers Dawids.
Janssen has looked alright for me. As long as he’s playing so as long as Kane is out he should do alright
Keep FT and try to have 2 during IB! Could be useful. I think Janssen is on penalties and well he should start scoring sooner or later. He works really hard for the team but his focus needs to be on purely being a striker. Anyway, we’ll see. He’ll get there.
And well he got you an assist. That’s more than Ibra and Lukaku both got me. Janssen actually outscored that duo in gamweek 6.
So I’ve decided to take a -4.
Benteke out for Callum Wilson
Bolasie out for either Firmino or Coutinho.
What one do I pick?!?!
Would you consider Benteke to Austin/Rashford? And I would pick Firmino over Coutinho
Yes. Rashford is a shout actually!
Would have Austin but he’s not nailed on
Gunners, would have thought Austin’s place is fairly secure. Get the feeling he will be a mainstay until Long and Redmond show any shooting form. If you don’t have Ibra, I think Rashford is a good shout though.
Austin for me Gunners – I brought him last night!
Just checked can’t afford Rashford.
My 3rd striker can has to be between 6.4 and 6.6
Wilson for me seems the best option.
