Live Match Chat Game-week 8 FPL News

Welcome to Live Match Chat Game-week 8 FPL News: Here we go again!! We kick off GW8 with a proper match up as the two previous champions tangle when the Foxes visit Chelsea for a lunch time fixture. That is followed up by six more games. Arsenal welcome Swansea so they can fill their boots, The Cherries play Hull in a snoozer, City look to rebound vs Everton, while in other action we see a classic when Sunderland visits Stoke. West Brom look to stop the only undefeated team left when Spurs come marching in and we finish our Saturday fixtures with Palace happy to see the struggling Hammers in for a visit.

Sunday sees a rest day for us all. Honestly no one should bother with the Sunday schedule. Just take care of what needs to be done so you can sit and enjoy the Monday barnburner.

Klopp vs Mourinho, Coutinho vs Mata, Ibra vs Firmino, Rashford vs Mane, Pogba vs his price tag. All we know is that we will have our time reserved to not be bothered when Liverpool and United face off.

With Toby probably out for a long while, do you guys reckon this is the end of conceding so few goals? Took WBA just a few minutes after Toby was out to score. laugh

Current team below. I’m considering a few changes, which would be better?
    A. Diomande and Lamela out, Benteke and Son in
    B. Lamela and Antonio out, De Bruyne and Chadli in
    C. Downgrade Sanchez to Walcott to have more funds for elsewhere.
    D. Something else I’m missing?

I’m still relatively new to this game, it’s my full time hobby and for the most part I love it!
Obviously I’m realistic and know that every week can’t be great but how do you guys deal with repeated bad weeks!?

It’s like I look at my team and on paper it looks great and then I have an absolute stinker like I have this week and I look at my team and think it still looks good but clearly something is not right!
I do feel captain picks are what make the biggest difference, I felt like going Walcott yesterday but ended up going with the ‘sensible’ choice of kun and we all know how that worked out!

Yes it can be very frustrating. I used my wildcard during the week, put allen in and left him on the bench not happy yesterday. But the player i kept him on the bench for was holebas so all good again today.

It’s a great question Rosco. I generally sulk, shout at the kids a bit, kick the cat, throw stuff at the telly… And then remember it’s just a game and move on to the next week.

We all make bad decisions occasionally but they’re only ‘bad’ because perhaps they didn’t pay off on that occasion. I always ask myself if I had the chance to make the decision again without the benefit of hindsight would I have done it differently. The answer is usually no, in which case the decision was the right one, albeit it didn’t work out. As long as I can justify the decision in terms of it was researched and logical then I’m fine with the outcome whether that be good or bad.

      • Which is all fine but he doesn’t actually have a cat or a telly.

And it’s next doors kids he yells at! laugh

      • DMC says:

Eheh I more or less do the same, minus the cat part, because I don’t have one. Maybe I should get one.
The Austin/Benteke basically sums up what init said. Austin had the better fixture and we all ‘know’ he could score big but the next fixtures are though, unlike tekkers’ so the smart and logical decision, which I would repeat, was to get him instead of Austin. That’s enough for me to bear with it. That and wally’s 13 pts of course! smile

HOlebas scores, fucking king. I love how him, Pieters and Smith are outscoring premium defenders from Tottenham and SPurs. Budget is the way to go.

Played it safe with Cathcart 2-3 weeks ago as there were rumors abt his injury and now have Cathcart injured and sitting on bench with Holebas scoring -_-

Holebas on my bench. Kop told me to play him. I played Lovren and Stones instead. He’ll destroy me.
