Welcome to Live Match Chat Gameweek 10 FPL News: Our game-week starts at 3pm on Saturday afternoon. It’s like the good old days. Well it’s not really as there’s only 4 games at 3pm. First up is 3 points for Bournemouth as they welcome the hapless David Moyes and his bunch of not so merry men from Sunderland. Crystal Palace travel to face Tom Heaton Burnley. Having beaten Barcelona on Tuesday night City will be confident of taking 3 points as they host Middlesbrough. West Ham host an ever improving Stoke side. Let’s hope that Andy Carroll is ok following Wednesday’s incident when he was held at gunpoint. Rumour has it the incident was carried out by the same gang who stole Shergar! Saturday concludes at 5:30pm when Everton travel to face a Chelsea side who have won 4 on the bounce.
Sunday kicks off at midday with the North London derby as Spurs make the short trip to the Emirates. Expect a feisty encounter as Spurs will be keen not to lose further ground to their nearest & dearest. Thinking about ironing out my double down weakness with de ghea and blind. Should I get courtois as a goalie? Or will I have an over reliance on Chelsea?

Or should I scrape the barrel for funds and replace Cahill with blind and keep de ghea?

Hey gang, not rushing into any transfers but wanted to get a few thoughts on early plans.
Thinking Ibra and Capoue > Austin and Haz but open to ideas.

Is anyone else thinking that bringing Kane in over the next few weeks could pay off big time?

On that premise, which of these options would people prefer:

    1) Kane & Lukaku + 5.0 on a defender
    2) Kane & Costa + 4.5 on a defender

The third striker is obviously Aguero. And I’ve already got Hazard too.

    Thanks.

It could very well pay off to get Kane in. He seems to be forgotten about a bit even though he is now back and scored that penalty. I have Lukaku and I can’t really understand the will of some to now sell him. Everton collectively were poor and by all accounts got it tactically wrong in the Chelsea game so he can be forgiven for blanking there and these “difficult” fixtures he has ahead can be offset by reminding yourself that he scored at the Etihad three/four weeks ago. The fixtures may not really matter as long as Koeman learns the lessons of the Chelsea match.

So option1 I like. Furthermore as you have Hazard you probably can do without Costa (not that double Chelsea isn’t a bad idea) but for me you have the main man for them.

The defenders at 5.0M are plentiful so it depends who you already have I guess.

Cheers GP. Here’s the current team, with 1.8 ITB.

I’m thinking the next 3 transfers will be Baines, Lallana & Costa/Lukaku to 4.5/5.0 defender, Coutinho & Kane.

Sound like a logical plan to you?

If I go the route of keeping Lukaku it certainly gives me more defensive options. I’d probably lean towards Stones.

        • It does sound good to me so let’s hope you can manage to get them done and no other issues crop up in the meantime.

I have Stones and I think I would take him at that price despite the lack of CS. Apparently he was playing well and on for BPs until Middlesbrough scored very late.

When I see your team above though, that already is one almighty fine front line! smile

        • banjomaker says:

Yea I’m fairly confident Stones / City defense will come good soon, and at 5.0 he’s a bargain.

My main concern is the lack of Coutinho / Firmino / Mane. It seems that at least one of those is mandatory. Lallana seems to be chipping in with regular points, but over the course of the season I don’t think it’s good enough to rely on him for Liverpool cover.

If Coutinho (or Firmino) rise any more then I’ll need to take a 4 point hit on Lallana to either of them, in order to be able to afford Kane & Stones.

      • DMC says:

Yep, Kane seems to be an under the radar go to choice. He’s top 5 for PPM, which says a lot if we add that he played everton, liverpool and arsenal on his 6 games to date, and is owned only by 5%.
If he performes well in England’s games I might just buy the lad. He looked sharp against Arsenal on the few ocasions the ball actually got to him.

I am personnally under the spell of Costa, who have been delivering week after week.
I am always cautious with Lukaku (i plan to sell him after GW12), and have much less faith in Everton than Chelsea.
I would therefore go for 2. Even to the price of a suboptimal defender.

      • banjomaker says:

Thanks Vinci. Everything you say makes perfect sense. Lukaku can be so frustrating, and I’m confident Costa will outscore him. It’s just whether that margin will be greater than the difference between a 4.5 & 5.0 defender.
