Live Match Chat Gameweek 16 FPL News

Welcome to Live Match Chat Gameweek 16 FPL News: And the silly season begins… Our first game-week on top of another, quickly followed by another. Expect rotation, expect the unexpected. As much as traditional team selections may go out of the window, expected results often do too. Welcome to the beginning of the reason they give us an opportunity to select 15 playing players. We hope you took that particular gift and didn’t squander it as it’s one you may well need, starting this evening, in all probability. Talking of which we begin with two games on Tuesday as Bournemouth face a suddenly rejuvenated Leicester, don’t get too excited though, they won’t get to play against Stones and co every week. Arsenal then face a beleaguered and strangely uninterested Everton at Goodison. Wednesday then sees a bumper night with 8 fixtures in total with the likes of Spurs, Man City and Chelsea all having games from which they should, in theory, have us all celebrating good fantasy points…

Whether they do or not please feel free to join us on the journey and post your thoughts, feelings, frustrations and hopefully celebrations. And no doubt the odd rate my rate as GW17 follows in quick succession!

Damn, I am going to enjoy watching Sanchez destroy City upcoming weekend. Pep getting out his purse, he will try to purchase him.

Took a hit to swap him for Mane. Shoulda picked Lallana!

Firmino functions well whenever he plays as the forward for Liverpool, which was why he had many points + it helped that Coutinho was available. By no coincidence, Liverpool were much better towards the second half when he played as a 9 but I suppose Klopp cannot play him there given the injuries that we have

Now that Origi plays forward, Firmino is shifted to the flanks and that has seen his contributions dropped by some bit. I would shift Firmino out for Lallana/Mane for what it’s worth, not that the player is doing poorly but he just isn’t in the position to get points for FPL

        1. Origi was subbed off towards the end but it looked like a cramp more than an injury. Would recommend getting him in for those shifting Nacho out as the players is doing alright and gets in the right positions to score

        2. Lallana is an excellent buy for his price and he is scoring much more this season with his late runs into the box. He gets into the box the most amongst Liverpool’s 3 midfielders, which is why he gets his fair share of points – I think I would sell my Son for him this GW

        3. Firmino to Mane could work also as the player is getting sharper and is getting A LOT of touches in the box. Was unlucky to not score today as he hit the post

How crucial is Lallana? Was planning on Alonso and Can in for Koscielny and Fletcher. Would Ake and Lallana be better transfers?

    Heaton Pickford
    Walker Koscielny McAuley Holebas Amat
    Sanchez Hazard Eriksen Siggy Fletcher
    Kane Costa Anichebe

That would be a very nice looking 3-5-2 with Lallana. I prefer that move.

Ake and Lallan would be better.. Can’s gametime is not guaranteed.. U need to have the players who are guranteed starters with the fixtures coming thick and fast

Thanks banjo and praveen. Hate to lose out on Alonso as I’ve been wanting a Chelsea defender for a while, but it’s doubtful Ake could do any worse than Koscielny has been doing and Lallana looks like a big improvement to my starting 11. Have to move tonight to afford it, wish we had some more news on Hazard!

Lallana and Erikson wouldn’t rise tonight will they?

Woohoo, 2 point gain in my ML! That was all a bit of a let down. Kane capo vs Hull versus nobody with Kane, big opportunity missed. Can’t really complain though as my alternative would have been theirs – Costa. I’m not making any points really, just checking in, Adrian Mole style! 45 this week anyway, how’d everyone fare??
