Welcome to Live Match Chat Gameweek 16 FPL News: And the silly season begins… Our first game-week on top of another, quickly followed by another. Expect rotation, expect the unexpected. As much as traditional team selections may go out of the window, expected results often do too. Welcome to the beginning of the reason they give us an opportunity to select 15 playing players. We hope you took that particular gift and didn’t squander it as it’s one you may well need, starting this evening, in all probability. Talking of which we begin with two games on Tuesday as Bournemouth face a suddenly rejuvenated Leicester, don’t get too excited though, they won’t get to play against Stones and co every week. Arsenal then face a beleaguered and strangely uninterested Everton at Goodison. Wednesday then sees a bumper night with 8 fixtures in total with the likes of Spurs, Man City and Chelsea all having games from which they should, in theory, have us all celebrating good fantasy points…

Whether they do or not please feel free to join us on the journey and post your thoughts, feelings, frustrations and hopefully celebrations. And no doubt the odd rate my rate as GW17 follows in quick succession!

Morning everyone. Seeing some mixed scores after last night. A lot of options in midfield once again. Why can’t we just play with no striker and all midfielders??! 😉 haha

What happened to Origi last night for him to be flagged today? It says a knock was it serious??

Hello Guys, due to wrong captain and bench choices, I’ve dropped from being 1st in my ml to 14. I need resuscitation cos it looks like it could get worse:

    Current Team with 2.2 itb
    Pickford Heaton
    Coleman Alonso Walker Koscielny Lenihan
    Capoue Firmino Redmond Antonia Gundogan
    Defoe Kane Costa

I am thinking of getting rid of Kos for a cheaper attacking defender and getting one or two explosive midfieders.

I don’t mind taking hits cos he that is down should fear no fall :\. I’d appreciate all the help smile

Hey Waltine that’s a big fall mate. I would just do Coleman and Gundogan out and if you needed funds then Kos. The options I’d look at is Brunt/Nyom or Ake, then midfield would depend on the money you have left.

    Vinci says:

    Hi all,

it has been my experience with FPL that, as soon as I score high a couple of successive weeks, I consider myself quite good at it, and that the game frankly not that difficult. If you are a bit serious, look at form and fixtures, you can easily determine who will deliver and – indeed – the identified players deliver.

Then comes a stetch of games where I score low.
And I realize how many uncertainties there are – and how lucky I had been the previous weeks that everything played out following my plan!
FPL is not easy after all, and I definitely was not that good!

    Anyway…
I used to be happy with my team, was top 20K and rising, had a team value rising steadily… And now I face a series of problems!
Firmino does not score any more; Nacho does not play; Gundogan does not score and is even injured; Hazard missed out; Kane did not score; Pedro that I was so happy to have identified as a differentiator does not deliver anything…

Prioritizing the issues, I am considering:
    1- Pedro->Llalana ;
    2- Firmino->Llalana;
    3- Pedro, Firmino->Lalana, Eriksen and -4.
On top of ditching a non-performing player, the former would open the way to finally get a Chelsea defender; while the latter would free more cash.
#3 would make sense since I then plan to transfer out Kane for Ibra, so it would ensure some offensive Spurs coverage.

    Any ideas?

Welcome to the reality of FPL haha smile

What I would do there is Firmino and Gundogan out and leave the rest of the team alone.

      • Vinci says:

        Thanks Matt.
I can see the logic, Gundogan is certainly the weakest player I have – and he might be injured!
But who would you get in? Llalana certainly, but then I have 6.8 for a 5th mid. 6.5 actually since I would like to save the money needed for Kane->Ibra then.
Zaha based on form? A Burnley, Middelsborough or Swansea mid (too little money for Siggy unfortunately) based on fixtures?

        • inittowinit says:

He’s definitely injured, Pep has said something like 2 months I believe. I was only half listening to the radio though when they said it.

        • Matt says:

I think I read somewhere he is gone for a good while so might be better to sell him before his price drops any further. Zaha is a good option or Philips. Or Redmond.

        • Vinci says:

          Thanks to both of you!
I think that I’ll go with Redmond. His fixtures are easier.

    Jeet says:

Sorry if I am late to the party but wanted to share my views on the Crystal Palace game against United:
the worst refereeing match I have ever seen after the second leg of the Chelsea vs Barcelona UEFA 2008 semi final where Chelsea were robbed of a final and Drogba was suspended for cussing at the camera after the game.. Rojo should have been sent off, apparently punching the ball in box is not a clear handball by Crystal Palace, Mata goal ruled offside when he is 2 steps behind the line, corner decisions being given as a joke! Despite Zlatan closing the match, those 3 officials need to be suspended! Not good for the game..

      Matt says:

I only seen the ‘offside’ goal and it was a mile on. The 6 yard box shows that clearly.

      • Jeet says:

Try seeing the punch on the ball to clear it by a CPFC defender! I swear even DDG could have seen that from afar! :cuckoo:

        • Matt says:

That’s crazy!! Don’t know what the ref was looking at.

        • photek says:

Yeah it was crazy! I think it was Ledley he wasn’t even looking at the ball and just jumped into Rojo (i think) clearly came off his arm in mid-air and the ref didn’t give a thing.
Mata was at the least a yard onside for his goal and Rojo clearly dived in with 2 feet and should’ve seen red.

        • Matt says:

A United Fan accepting they got LUCKY!!! Ladies and Gentleman I know Christmas is near but I didn’t think we’d see a miracle this early!!!! :hippo:

        • Matt says:

Hahaha I can accept Liverpool get lucky a lot!! And are nowhere near what most fans think we are (Migs smile ) Feel like we are on the up though just need to sort out a GK and we could alright. Wonder if Milner fancies trying out GK next season??

        • Matt says:

Tried that a few seasons ago but he picked Stoke haha

        • Matt says:

That is very true and with Hart aging and off in Italy/ Possibly sold or back on loan it could be a great chance for the lad. Think he’s a great player.

45 points and 3 below the average, this meant some red arrows to 63K.

Kane, Costa, Nacho, Mane, Pedro all blanked

    Any thoughts on my team?

do we hold off or do we get Origi in for Nacho. even if Nacho starts, they playing Arsenal
