Okay. Team value. Do we care?
I don’t care about your team value! :finger:
Ha!
But do you care about yours?
One of the top two guys finished with a £106m team.
But I do think team value can be a huge advantage in the closing stretch.
As long as you didn’t put yourself too far back in the race building it…
Afternoon all…
TV is essential !
Forget about what Mito says…he just wants to confuse or misguide you 😉 …
:satansmoking:
James, I’d say approaching the halfway point the majority of worrying about value should be over as it’s hopefully been built up nicely already. Points count, not value. However if you have little or nothing in the bank then it obviously becomes much more important in case of injuries. Take Kun today for example – if I sell him I will lose 0.4, which I don’t care about in theory but it could actually prevent me from buying him back when he’s fit again due to my lack of extra funds.. so I guess my point is do not rush transfers to save 0.1 here or there, but maybe do take a risky early transfer if it’s the only time your funds will allow it.
I’m around 109 ish. But did it (I believe) the right way.
Some others have huge values but it’s cost them.
I guess it depends what your goals are..
If your team scores well then its value will take care of itself anyway. Having said that, the guy who has the 2nd highest value in the world has taken 100 points in hits to get there, and is still doing better than me, so what do I know haha.
My wife’s team, Cash Cows (I help her with it a lot) is now 4th highest value in world, value 115.6 mil. This has taken me….. I mean, her, many trades and ranking wasnt important. Armed with such a high team value, we are going to have a good crack at the CUP starting in two weeks. Go the cash cows.
James, sorry it took me 5 minutes to stop laughing at Mitos’s response to that!
To be fair no I don’t. I let it ride until Friday unless it means I cannot do an essential transfer and even then I will probably say C’est la vie as opposed to making an early transfer and ending up taking a loss or worse a -4.
I guess it’s case by case with me.
We’re back on the risk profile debate…
101 – It can make you do rash decisions if you follow to closely (just transfered in lukaku myself) but a team with 107 million will have more consistant ‘big hitters’ than one with a tighter buget # justsaying
Right.
To be fair, I put off transferring in silva early this week (wasn’t sure he’d start) at a cost of .1m.
No issue as I’d built lots of spare cash to cover that sure of thing.
101 – Totally agree on all the above. I dont decide my tansfers on value and was already planning this move so brought it forward… that 0.1 in my funds could help me come the jan wc
Right. I’ve done that most of the season.
Occasionally, like this week, I’ll postpone a decision for good reason.
But I USE the money. Build it when pos. Spend it when nec.
It definitely opens doors. When did money not…?
James, I had about 110 this time last season, but my only concern was a mini league and it paid big dividends. I was about 50 points behind about this time and won the league by 200. I do attribute some of that to the team that I could put out weekly. I remember having a very strong front 8 ( benching a stud weekly ) and a defence that constantly was the difference between me and others. I had a run of ten to 12 straight weeks of green arrows because of the 11 I could put out. My defenders were top point earners.
So yes it can be beneficial, but I cost myself too many points building it and on many occasions those hits could have been prevented with better planning. Look anyone be crazy to say that they would not rather have 110 over 102 but how you got to that value matters more than if you have it or not.
:finger:
Yeah. You nailed it here:
“how you got to that value matters more than if you have it or not.”
Good evening all. What a crazy match day. And now completely stuck as to what to do for next week w/ Aguero injured. (Previously wanted to ship Ivanouseless and Shelvey out and somehow bring in Walcott w/o shipping out Yaya or Ramsey). Any thoughts appreciated:
Migs / Boruc
Ivanovic / Merteslacker / Coleman / Dawson / Rosenior
Yaya / Silva / Ramsey / Shelvey / WP
Aguero / Suarez / Lukaku
1ft and £0.7 in bank
Aguero –>??? (Negredo or Rooney?)
Shelvey –> ??? (Cabaye or Oscar or Lampard?)
Cheers!
Sanchez, if you wanna play it safe then Aguero to Rooney is your best bet. Not sure how much you would be selling him for though – is it possible to instead bring in Negredo and then upgrade Shelvey to Wally?
Yup, tried that but a few quid short. Haven’t taken an -8pt hit this season so might have to delay getting Walcott and hope he doesn’t rise too much. Thinking Cabaye might be a decent punt… Thought about Chelski coverage but they seems somewhat erratic plus heavy rotation expected over next few GWs. Any other options?
Check out the post below your one, I’m considering a crazy option for replacing him Wouldn’t recommend it though..
Can’t believe I’m saying this, but I’m actually considering holding off on do Kun -> Rooney in favour of Kun -> Chamakh. That would let me upgrade 5th mid Delph to Wally (!!) and have an attack of Hazard, Wally, Ramsey, Silva, Suarez, Giroud, and then choose between Ravel and Chamakh on a GW-to-GW basis. Heck I’d save so much on that transfer I’d even have enough left over to upgrade Giroud to Rooney the GW after if he blanks again. What say ye?
I suggested a super 5 man midfield bringing in wally to somebody today.
Not a bad idea. Though personally I’d lose giroud ASAP.
I was going to change him this GW but injuries to Kos and Kun have kind of forced my hand :-/
How long is Aguero injured for?
Hard to say pre-scan, but even if just for a couple of weeks then that’s 4 games missed. I did bring in Chamakh a few mins ago for him before he increased in value, so I hope he’s out for a while at least (not actually wishing ill on another player, but you know what I mean).
Haha! At least I now have an excuse to bring in some United coverage.
You brought in chamakh for Aguero? Something tells me you’re going to regret that transfer 😳
Better to switch to Lukaku and Rooney, which frees up funds to upgrade Delph/Ravel
I did something really stupid last night. I was worried about his value going up, so I transferred in Hazard for Oscar, using my first FT. I had the money and the FT to do I last week. Good move? I now have 1 FT and 0.4 in the bank.
Seems kind of like-for-like to me mate.. you held onto Oscar while he was out only to change him now he’s gonna be playing again? It’s certainly not a bad transfer though as Hazard is killing it atm. Do you also have Kun? If so what are your plans considering your limited funds?
Calvin Clyne,
My selling price for Aguero is 11.9, so I comfortably have enough to transfer him out for Rooney. Good idea?
I would lose 1.2 in team value though
Yeah seems the logical transfer, I was initially going to do that too. Only problem is possibly not being able to re-buy him when he’s fit again.. Mind you with the Jan WC around the corner I wouldn’t worry too much. Wait until the scan tomorrow and see if that helps clarify things for you mate.
I’m not too worried about not being able to but back Aguero, because his price will surely fall over the next few weeks
Selling value: 11.8
Cost: 12.5
You sure he’ll drop by 0.7M? If your estimation is correct ill sell him right away.
Aguero might not even be out that long so I’d wait defo till Monday.
He won’t drop by .7, remember prices go into freeze mode when red flagged, meaning it takes 4 times as many transfers out for them to drop by .1
bisto, freeze mode is happened when the flag (in this case red) removed, as the player is coming back from injury. but when the flag still red (or yellow), his price might go up / down as usual.
Its funny desmo I only just noticed this recently with Boruc as I refuse to waste a transfer when I already have a playing keeper in krul, but saw his price is falling
Desmo, the price isn’t frozen completely until the red flag is removed, however, players can go up or down when red flagged, but like I said, there has to be 4 times as many people making the moves more than normal for fluctuations in price. Boruc went down because his ownership was so high, and so many people transferred him out. Silva only went down .1 whilst injured, Clyne for example hasn’t gone down at all and he’s been out for 2 weeks.
That being said, whilst Aguero is in orange mode, normal rules apply.
yes it is peaky, confused me at first. and i did the same, i hold player when he is red flagged, as i think he is protected. than it cost me 0.3 m!
but thanks to fiso who explain it clearly, so i won’t make the same mistake again!
and for aguero case, if we are expected him to fall 0.7 m, it must take at least 3 game weeks. as 0.3 is the max value to go up / down in 1 GW. he might fall 0.3 in the first GW, but dunno if he will make it to 0.7 unless he is out for a long time, like more than a month.
i agree with “there has to be 4 times as many people making the moves more than normal for fluctuations in price”. that’s why i believe aguero will fall 0.3 at least, because many managers are panicking to sell him. but unlikely to fall 0.7, because to make him keep falling, it need more managers sell him, as u said the transfer target might be 4 times higher than usual.
and for the freeze thing, recently is rooney case, his price stand still after his red flag removed until now (it’s like frozen for a week after the red flag removed, i forgot how long it will be frozen tho, but it’s in the rules).
sorry for my bad english.
😉
Well it’s not exactly 4 times the amount of transfers, I believe the amount of transfers in that would mean the price goes up is increased by 2.5 whilst the player is red flagged. Once the flag is removed the price is then frozen for 8 days.
To wade into this debate; Aguero will drop by a good .3 or .4 minimum over the next fortnight (4 gameweeks). Maybe more. Meanwhile Rooney will rise a lot. So Aguero – Rooney will lose no money and give you option to buy back Aguero at zero loss. All assuming he is out for a couple of weeks or so
Why are there two teams with the same name “Norfulk-in-chance” in The Regulars league.
