Welcome to Live Match Chat Gameweek 17 FPL News: After the excitement (maybe not!) of the midweek fixtures we are back with a long weekend of games beginning on Saturday lunchtime with Chelsea chasing records at Pardew’s Palace. We move swiftly on to four relatively dull looking games at 3pm, if we are being totally honest about it! It reads more like a relegation audition or next seasons typical Championship fixture list than any sort of Premier League bonanza. Ahem, sorry, we’re supposed to build you up into a frenzy of excitement to encourage the conversation about what is to come and what is happening aren’t we?! We’ll actually forgive you if you leave at 2pm and return at 5pm though, just this once! The evening game could actually be an interesting one as Man United visit West Brom, both of whom enjoyed midweek wins. Sunday begins with a south coast derby followed by arguably the clash of the weekend as Pep meets Wenger at the Etihad. At the same time as that one Spurs will seek to gain some ground on the leaders as they host Burnley. Our game-week closes out on Monday with another derby game, this time on Merseyside. In answer to your question… no, I wouldn’t transfer Vardy in. I’d keep Kane over him. Do you have any money in the bank?
Hello lads, hope you had a good score this GW. Here’s my team for next GW, I’m quite happy to keep Costa but that leaves me with no bench and Nyom and Smith with bad fixtures. I see two possible transfers to make (1 FT, 0.0 itb):
Rodwell -> de Roon (only 4.3 mid that plays regularly as far as I know)
or
Smith -> Amat (has nice fixtures and is the cheapest playing defender)
If Jones will keep starting for United I’d like to get him in, but he’s currently 0.1 too expensive. Nyom leaves for AFCON in January so I could upgrade my defense then (or alternatively get in a better defender now and get Amat for Nyom – can only get someone who costs 4.7 or less though)
So whatcha think? Get de Roon? Get Amat? Or someone else?

Agreed. Amat is OK, and an enabler, but not better than Smith. Bournemouth are having a good season as well.

Why no love for Defoe as 3rd striker option
He’s done me proud over the last few weeks
However I did buy him cheap and he’s risen so that might be the problem.

Depending on form and funds I’ll be bringing Aguero in for either Ibra or Costa, but not in any hurry for him.

Yes Defoe is very reliable and consistent,think its the fact he plays for Sunderland and their relatively poor fixtures that puts people off.Wish id gone for him or Benteke instead of bloody Itchy !!
yea, I saw an interview he did last season and he was saying about that if he doesnt score goals and keep Sunderland up then people he knows would lose their jobs. So he cares about the club and them and knows he has to score.

To be honest mate I wouldnt. You will be left with an expensive 5th mid (for a 343).
I would just get Ibra and save the money to upgrade (origi) at some point

I’d try to keep Nacho one last week. It’s Hull he plays – if he plays. Worth the shot.

In the long run Defoe and Costa are your best bets. Hold the transfer. You can always play 4-4-2 if you think Nacho isn’t starting.
