Live Match Chat Gameweek 17 FPL News
Welcome to Live Match Chat Gameweek 17 FPL News: After the excitement (maybe not!) of the midweek fixtures we are back with a long weekend of games beginning on Saturday lunchtime with Chelsea chasing records at Pardew’s Palace. We move swiftly on to four relatively dull looking games at 3pm, if we are being totally honest about it! It reads more like a relegation audition or next seasons typical Championship fixture list than any sort of Premier League bonanza. Ahem, sorry, we’re supposed to build you up into a frenzy of excitement to encourage the conversation about what is to come and what is happening aren’t we?! We’ll actually forgive you if you leave at 2pm and return at 5pm though, just this once! The evening game could actually be an interesting one as Man United visit West Brom, both of whom enjoyed midweek wins. Sunday begins with a south coast derby followed by arguably the clash of the weekend as Pep meets Wenger at the Etihad. At the same time as that one Spurs will seek to gain some ground on the leaders as they host Burnley. Our game-week closes out on Monday with another derby game, this time on Merseyside. Please join us to talk about the happenings on the pitch and share your teams joys or woes as the games go on. Rate my team posts are always welcome for the following week and will always be answered. Rant, rave or just wave, do whatever you want on here, it’s your platform as ever…

Have had a calamitous couple of weeks which resulted in a precipitous drop in ranking…might be too early to say..but im already looking forward to a wild card coming up soon…
Would there be a “wildcard” special coming up before the year end..could use with some advice to get back up in rankings..
Thanks guys!
Btw: i took a punt on pogba lol..not sure how its going to pan out..
Haha
A special WC is may be too much to ask for
Pogba should do the differential job pretty well for you
I hope so…though Waxys is probably right…pogba isnt the best pick for fantasy lol…but hey its Christmas..one can hope right..lol
Pogba is awful. You will be lucky to get 5 points a week with him. Fine player but not great for fantasy
Waxys: you are right…i guess im just at a loss..and just sick of the usual picks..so i went for a “against the odds” punt lol
Ahh Kane is going to drop this week ain’t he. Ruins my plan
Morning Smash, yes I would imagine so Smash after that debacle of a performance and Ibra rising tonight it seems.
Hi all need some advice please, current team is as follows (2.9ITB and 1FT):
Cout, Grant
Stones, Holebas, Walker, McAuley, Amat
Wally, Capoue, Sanchez, Lallana, Fer
Kane, Costa, Llorente
Option 1: Fer -> Sig; Kane -> Ibra; Stones -> Jones
Option 2: Kane -> Ibra; Fer -> Zaha; Llorente -> Tekkers
Cole,
Option 1 for me – 3 solid additions and option 2 is too much Palace!
Thanks gents, I made the ibra swop now, will wait and decide if I will take the hit before the next game week starts.
I like 1-, but I do not like the -8.
Especially before the congested boxing days, where one thing is for sure: the teams won’t play their best 11 each GW. So you could take 2 hits to discover that Siggy is rested and Jones loses his spot…
I’d do simply Kane to Ibra.
What’s the latest on Iheanacho? Is he a non-starter now? Would be for a hit to get him out!
Hi AT
I wouldn’t rely on him every week personally hence that’s why I didn’t bring him in for Aguero, but if I had him right now, I’d keep him for Hull which is next up.
Cheers GP!
He was a punt. Had a really poor run on fantasy this year. Seem to be missing trends and bringing people out after several bad games before they go on a run of scoring games – Lukaku and Ibra spring to mind.
I’d get Ibra back in soon if you don’t have him. I did last night!
I did on Saturday hahaha
Morning
Anyone planning to go with Costa Kun and ibra up top?
Mitro
I did take a look at it but it threatens the rest of my team (I’m liking my Chelsea and Spurs cover in the back just now and Sanchez is pretty much safe in my squad).
I made early moves – so if it doesn’t work out, I’m blaming you!
I can do it but I would lose hazard to a 4.9 priced midfielder
Emre Can?
It works
Emre could lose his spot soon with Lallana and Couthino back in the picture.
Matt – I need solutions not problems
Well there is Wanyama, Livermore and when Watmore returns you could bring him in??
That is tempting. But tough.
If Hazard keep disappointing, I would have a clear way to find most of the money I’d need. But I still would be short of a couple of M to achieve this dream forward line…
City would have to start performing great again to motivate me in sacrificing an other mid and my one premium defender to afford it!
Morning everyone. How did the weekend go for you all? Currently sitting on 36 with Mane and Origi left to play so not a great week to be honest. My two best players were Alonso and Pickford and I managed to cap Alonso so that pick was the right one. What is the mark to get into the cup this week?
Need some advice on my team I have 2 FTs and nada in the bank. Is United cover necessary now? Is a Wally/Sanchez double up a good idea for their upcoming games?? Any other advice you can give me?
Pickford – Heaton
Alonso – Vert – VVD – Pieters – Nyom
Sanchez – Mane – Haz – Pedro – Philips
Kane – Origi – Anichebe
Ibra would look great in your team
Cheers Mitro, the only way I can do that is by doing Mane and Kane to Lallana/Eriksen and Ibra but that leaves me with either no Pool or Spurs cover plus leaves Pedro in the team so I was thinking a -4 to get rid of Pedro too.
Pedro could be interesting home to Bournemouth.
He could be back in the team, particularly with Costa out?
You don’t think Willian and Moses have taken his spot??
Matt
Moses is the RWB and not in direct competition with Pedro. Willian is but I’m not sure he has taken his spot. I’d need to see Willian starting 4 or 5 consecutively to come to that conclusion.
I would probably keep Pedro one more and especially wouldn’t rush him out for -4.
Cheers GP. I’ll keep Pedro for one more week. I will just do Mane and Kane out but would you keep Liverpool cover in Lallana or Spurs in Eriksen? I’m leaning towards Lallana.
Yeah I think Lallana too, Matt.
Cheers GP
