It’s the day after the big one and we all wake up to find out whether the FPL Gods will be kind to us with rotation or if they will kick us in the Bob Geldofs. We hope you had a wonderful Christmas Day with the family, or doing whatever it was you did. It’s over now though, back to the (second) day job – FPL. And we are in full swing today with no less than 8 games. Cruelly, at least for those who indulged properly, we begin with an early kick off which means it’s an 11.30am deadline today. We hope this news doesn’t come as a shock to many and equally that if it does that you are reading this prior to 11.30am! We have the early game followed by six 3pm kick offs before Hull and Man City round off Boxing Day for us with the evening game. The GW itself then continues on Tuesday and Wednesday with a solitary game on each day. Just for housekeeping purposes there is a break on Thursday but then GW19 begins on Friday and there is a game every single day then up until, and including, the following Wednesday. Just to confuse matters that run of games spans two GW’s – the break is between Sunday and Monday when 19 ends and 20 begins. Worry not though, we shall keep you well informed of when you need to wake up! In the meantime please join us to talk about the happenings on the pitch during GW18 and share your teams joys or woes as the games go on. Just wondering how many of you are actually planning to get Aguero back in straight away?
And how drastic are you transfers to make it happen?
Not thought about it yet Rich. Also wondering if people are bringing Costa back tonight and for who. Anyone ?
If I didn’t have Costa I’d definitely be bringing him straight back! I stuck with him and just benched him this week.
Hmm, thinking it’s prob best to hold off this week and hatch a plan involving the extra free transfer. Unless you have 2fts already Bango?
I already have Costa, so this isn’t an issue for me. My Kun plan is outlined in the below comment (55.2).

Just thinking about it now, I’m looking at Hazard, Mane & Carroll to Allen, Lallana & Kun in time for GW 20 (for -4). This would also free up the funds to do Siggy to Alli the week after.
I like those moves Bango. Aguero and Haz is a close call, but with Mane going to Afcon and Carroll being Carroll :thumbup:
I’ll still have Costa for Chelsea cover, and will still keep pool cover in Lallana. I’m not 100% sold on the idea, but bringing in Kun for Carroll is always gonna require big sacrifices elsewhere!
More wine and a new plan. Scrap Costa and Aguero. Keep Hazard and add Azpil to Alonso in defence. If Sanchez moves out wide permanently then I will revisit the Aguero plan :thumbup:

My plan was to get Costa back straight away Elle, but not sure now and would rather have Aguero before he explodes (if he does) as prices are crazy this year. But then waiting to decide on Costa could also be costly… guess that’s why I am asking everyone’s opinion
In the same boat Rich, if Costa comes back in tonight i’ll have him, Ibra + Carroll. Wondering wether to save the ft and use 2 to go Kane and A N Other to get Kun back v Burnley. Costa v Stoke could ruin us as you say.
I think we will have to do Kane to Costa (can’t ignore Stoke at home) and re-assess next week. Something may happen to help us along.

I’m in on bringing him in straight away, Vertonghen to a 3.9 and Kane to Aguero for a minus 4, it puts my team in danger of going with only 10 again as I’ll be back to the having only three starting defenders again tactic but it’s been worth the risk for me so far this season.

So, as I understand things, the price of Costa will be frozen for 8 days after he’s formally unflagged?
That is, if so, ridiculous. He dropped a full 0.3m last gameweek yet now, whilst everyone transfers him back in, he’ll remain stuck at 10.7m all week… pffft!
With him and Aguero both being unflagged what will be interesting is to monitor who is transferred out the most this GW, with Ibra doing well today it looks like Kane might take a big hit, both Haz and Sanchez could be surprise makeweights to shift values from mids to the forward line as well.
I’m expecting a Sanchez exodus. He’s been on fire but, very recently, the points haven’t been raining in.
Hazard would be a more suitable makeweight (especially if Costa stays in said team) but FPL managers generally have a very short memories: his penalty today will probably fool many.
I’m down with that line of thinking. It’s either Costa or Hazard for me as I doubt many will be able carry them both, I’m firmly in the Haz camp for now but that decisions made easy with me going 3-5-2.

Soton have a great run of fixtures so Cedric might be worth a look as well as Jones – Cedric probably has more chance of offensive points out of the pair.
I like Cedric option. The lesson here is to never trust a city defender.
