Are the clanging chimes of doom”, maybe he did! It’s the day after the big one and we all wake up to find out whether the FPL Gods will be kind to us with rotation or if they will kick us in the Bob Geldofs. We hope you had a wonderful Christmas Day with the family, or doing whatever it was you did. It’s over now though, back to the (second) day job – FPL. And we are in full swing today with no less than 8 games. Cruelly, at least for those who indulged properly, we begin with an early kick off which means it’s an 11.30am deadline today. We hope this news doesn’t come as a shock to many and equally that if it does that you are reading this prior to 11.30am! We have the early game followed by six 3pm kick offs before Hull and Man City round off Boxing Day for us with the evening game. The GW itself then continues on Tuesday and Wednesday with a solitary game on each day. Just for housekeeping purposes there is a break on Thursday but then GW19 begins on Friday and there is a game every single day then up until, and including, the following Wednesday. Just to confuse matters that run of games spans two GW’s – the break is between Sunday and Monday when 19 ends and 20 begins. Worry not though, we shall keep you well informed of when you need to wake up! In the meantime please join us to talk about the happenings on the pitch during GW18 and share your teams joys or woes as the games go on. Rate my team posts are always welcome for the following week and will always be answered, do whatever you want on here, it’s your platform as ever…

You would think so. I know he’s been injured but I am surprised he’s not played more. Zlatan is the ultimate United coverage though ain’t he

Definitely a good player but with rotation risk. Worth observing that he is more expensive than all the Pool mids apart from Mane not to mention Walcott, Eriksen, Siggy and Pedro. There is a lot of choice in the mids these days.

He’s definitely worth consideration and was already on the radar before his injury. I think the matter to discuss is who would he replace? In my case i would have to take out either Haz or Sanchez to be able to do a straight swap! Because of this im keeping an eye on him and will look at bringing him in when I juggle the team about to accommodate Kun, if Haz starts performing though then i’ll have a headache as its Haz who is marked for the cut at this point.

I’m thinking of keeping ibra and Kane for this week and bring in costa for origi, good idea? Or too much up top? Means my midfield would be hazard, Walcott, capoue, redmond and someone worth 5.5m ish

I’m taking out firmino out (with drink driving issue coming) to make funds for Costa.
My other option was straight swap Kane for Costa then do firmino to ozil/mkhi

Firmino to Philipps or Allen could work to give you the 3 forwards. The challenge will be accepting that 3 of your mids will not consistently score lots of points. Also Walcott is not a nailed on starter but that can easily change.

Morning all.
Please would someone educate me on Firmino’s drink driving charge and using that as an excuse to ditch him.
Yaya suffered the same fate and has been playing as per normal. Actually better than normal!
Is Firmino’s case so bad that he is facing prison?

I don’t know. However with previous cases it has never affected their playing time. I’d expect him to play today. I’m still hoping he comes good

So playing Amat hasnt exactly worked out for me. This GW have to play either him, Holebas or Pieters. Would you agree one of those to go is a bigger priority over Siggy or Philips? Walcott, Lallana or Antonio could come in for Siggy

Morning everyone, hope all of your Christmases went great!! Did Santa treat ye well FPL-wise?? Was working from 4 till 10 so missed the majority of the footie but got a score of 73 with Van Dijk, Vert, Lallana and Origi left to play so hoping to hit 90.
