Okay, on an extraordinarily boring train back down to London…team for this weekend:

    Migs (Marshall)
    Coleman Mert Bardsley (Turner Clyne)
    Hazard Wally(VC) Fer Bannan (Silva)
    Rooney Suarez(C) Lukaku

0.7 in the bank and 1FT. Everyone has good fixtures, but maybe fancy Fer to Nolan (as I can’t get Cabaye or Lallana until I wildcard). Kind of a sideways move is all I’m worried about as they’re both from pants teams playing fairly mediocrely…any other thoughts?

3 pts yesterday…..54 today! With no keeper, 2 zeros and 1 from Negredo. What a game!

    Team for next week:
    Migs (given)
    Zabeleta, coleman, mertesacker (gabbidon-1, turner-3)
    Hazard, wally, sterling, yaya
    Rooney, lukaku(v), suarez(c)

    Thought appreciated 😉

Thoughts on my GW20th team, with 1FT and almost nothing in bank.

    Marshall
Coleman – Olsson – Collins (doubt)
Hazard – Silva – Walcott (VC) – Ozil (injured)
    Suarez(C) – Lukaku – Remy
Bench: McGregor – Dawson – Chester – Silva

Is a hit required to replace Collins/Ozil? Without Collins, the clean sheet potential in my team is very thin.
Also, should i downgrade Ozil to make space for Rooney or bring in a heavy weight midfielder?

So are we doing this star / asterisk thing if still in the cup?

e.g. jamesimmo* or perhaps even jamesimmo** to show 2 rounds passed?

I think having a star around the name is just being arrogant and inconsiderate about other fellow members. Now i havent been much friendly on this site according to Kop and Raz, but I am totally against the initiatives that create divide.

I have learned only one thing here, people are too emotional about their FPL teams. You mock someone for making a wrong decision, and he goes bonkers with phrases like, “care about others feelings” , “hasnt this stuff happened to you before? wait till it happens”.
So imagine how “those” users who fail to advance in cup will feel, and imagine how they will react to your posts, and imagine how they will affect their own lives?

I am taking a stand against this, not because i care how other users feel about my actions, but because i am against the divide that it will create.

        Mmmmmm
        It’s a little bit cheesy I think …!

      • Milk and Busquets says:

Question: What difference does it make if you’re in the cup or not here? It won’t change the way you play since your aim is to get as many points as possible per GW, no?

        • The B says:

Agreed M&B. But its just additional bling to your team, if you know what i mean? Our personal targets are only private leagues though.

        • Milk and Busquets says:

Anyway regarding this * thing. You can make your name whatever you like. I’m going to bed either way, no cup for me.

      • peakydave* says:

Ok that’s a fair point The B but when Kop had his run there was unbelievable support for him as he progressed each round and it actually created a real buzz each week and a sense of community!!!! Ok,we all compete against each other but I personally love it when somebody from these boards gets a brilliant weekly score for example,it takes away the pain sometimes of having a bad week yourself!! I respect ur decision not to have an * but I will be enjoying mine while it lasts!!!!! smile

I dont want this star thing to be an official thing on this site. If you want to do it on a personal level, then you have a right, and i cant force you otherwise. smile

Its only my first year in FPL business so im contributing an argument from my observation of a few months only. But to be honest, recently i had a bad week and everyone had a good week, and i did not feel good.
You might be a person with an extraordinary heart, but when i see people around with huge queue of stars after their names when im actually out of the cup, the basic logic says that ill feel bad, because ill feel “left out”.

      • Bean Is Back says:

In contrast to creating a divide, im pretty sure the ‘star system’ will bring people together (to an extent) in talking about opposition in the cup, transfers, ghost players and it all adds a bit of competition between the people who remain in the cup on here.

People who are out of the cup are not going to be hurt because they know other people are still in it…unless they take FF a bit too seriously!

        • The B says:

Bean i take it that you are a mature person on here, and this kind of maturity can not be found in teens, due to which this kind of “star” competition and division will in no form create unity.

But i do get what you are trying to say.

      • hazardeden10 says:

B- i think ur one of the nicest here man, when your online you always respond to questions, unlike others who take advice and dont give.
In my opinion i think that if you wanna know if someones in the cup, you can look on the linked team. If they feel like they wanna do the star, let em do it , dont let it bother you. Dw man, i feel everyone does take it to emotionally, its just a game- of course its nice to do well, but its not gonna affect anything in the real world.

        • The B says:

Agreed. Adds to my argument. This is a unique website where people are allowed to “show off” their teams with the feature of linking teams with the names.

I understand that linking allows seeing teams to give solid advices, but it is also here to keep a track of your competition from the mini leagues within the website, and this feature of the website clearly allows you to know whether the person is doing well in Cup or not.

On this basis, having a star completely loses its purpose and its just a “bling” to your name on this site.

By the way, thanks eden. No need for a bro-mance here. smile

I thought a star was actually the norm during the cup gameweeks, unless that was just on the other site. Either way, I think its a good idea to see the member left in the cup…help offer them a bit of extra support to keep them going as it would be great to see somebody here win it.
Im gonna add a star until im told not to smile

So many responses! If anyone actually thinks it was a suggestion it introduce a competitive element then they were mislead, I jus thought it would look cool.

Now I’ve suggested it, you can be sure I’ll be out in the next round anyway!

Honestly am really not the type to brag about these things, trust me
