As for the gameweek itself we begin with a single game this evening as Everton travel to Hull at 8pm. Saturday then sees six 3pm kick offs plus a potential evening cracker as Klopp hosts Pep. Sunday concludes the week with two games and two London derbies just for some added spice. Good luck on the tube if you are down there for New Year!

Sweet, Lukaku got shit all. Shite that Barkley is 7.0m, though that might be positive. All English players are a big letdown when they are in my FPL team. They are a big letdown period. Hehe. From Wally to Redmond. They don’t bloody deliver.

    Raz.

I think your right about English players (except Lallana) they’re all shit.
Still licking there wounds after that Euro humiliation !

Lol, at least you took part in it. The Dutch football is even worse. But, England is a much bigger country plus you have the best competition in the world. Even League One teams have more money to spend than the Eredivisie teams. So to make money players rather play in your second league… it’s crazy. Now with China though, hehe. 😉

Anyway, I think you guys could do much better in England when directed the right way.

      • Bigpopz says:

        Got no cajones..
        No leaders on the pitch.
No die hard pride …see Wales.
        No belief.

        • Raziel says:

Hehe. I have stopped watching programs where the Dutch football is analyzed and where they talk about the future. I do notice English players that do well in England, get a crazy hype and pricetag. At times, I even start believing the hype.

        • Bigpopz says:

          Raz.

Don’t believe the Hype (as Public Enemy said)

We look ok with great foreign players along side us,
But stick us all on the same pitch together and we Freeze!

I know Bigpopz. At one point WIlshere was praised to be one of the best newcomers and the English media asked if Barca was afraid to play him. They were like, he’s a kid. HAHAH! 😉

Look where Wilshere is now. smile

      • Bigpopz says:

        What happend to “Total Football”
The Dutch were masters of the 70s /80s
Van Basten, Ruud And Rykard are amongst the best players I grew up watching, not forgetting Davids and the Legend that is Seeedorrff…!!!

        • Raziel says:

Pretty much was taken away by Bert van Marwijk in 2010 and after that LvG in 2014. Now, we just don’t have good players anymore. Also, things go wrong on so many levels. When you get a mediocre German or Italian defender and don’t play your own.

1996 we had one of the best squads and that really wasn’t the 80’s mate. What it is, we always played beautiful attractive football and lost in the last minute. Think Bert van Marwijk changed it, also because we had Robben/Sneijder/RvP (Back when he was young) and changed the system for them..

Anyway, just the big teams with a lot of money (Barcelona) can play this type of football where you hae to dominate and the big countries (Brazil/Spain/Germany), you need a lot of people and/or a great competition and youth academy. From what I know. the Germans looked at the Dutch in the 90’s and the early 00’s to get that new style of playing. They copied it, and it actually works for them. That with the German ruthlessness, they are killa. laugh

But we are a small country. Doubt we will ever be in a finals again.

Things change very fast in football Raz. Holland is a great footy nation and will get back up there sooner rather then later.

Loads of players set to rise/fall tonight. Wonder how many people making transfers are casuals who don’t realize the gw already started. laugh

      Raziel says:

I took an 8 point hit. So those not transferring could be better off. 😉

      • RedVT says:

I’ve taken more hits this season than usual Raz. I’m starting to become a believer that hits can work out if they’re done for players you plan on holding for a little while to spread out the cost. Took a -8 to get Costa and Hazard one week that paid off and took a -4 to bring Ibra in last week and captained him. A few haven’t worked out so well, but I got the players I wanted (at prices I needed) and have been steadily working on my TV while staying competitive in my leagues and OR. Second half of the season will be fewer hits with hopefully enough money to finish with a stronger side than my competition. That’s the basic plan anyway!

        • inittowinit says:

I’ve been much looser with the hits recently too Red. Some such as Ibra being deliberate, some such as this this week being more out of unfortunate necessity, some such as the one prior to Ibra being down to stupidity / being unlucky with a rare early transfer going tits up! Lesson for me has been to stick to the old Friday (last minute, at least) transfer policy I think. Done a couple of early ones to get who I wanted before the price rises said I couldn’t and been caught out as a result. I hope Wally enjoyed his Christmas anyway because I didn’t enjoy his! smile

        • RedVT says:

The early transfers are definitely a big gamble init, and you feel like a fool if something comes up that could have been avoided by being patient. That being said I used to be really, really against taking hits and would only do a couple per season if possible. However, I read somewhere that many of the real successful FPL managers (past winners, consistent high finishers, etc) were taking lots more hits per season than I had realized. I don’t remember the exact average, but let’s say something like 10 (-4) hits per season. Waaaay more than I was used to doing or thought acceptable/smart. That made me think that taking a -4 hit to improve my side and make some money potentially really wasn’t SUCH a terrible thing. If I take a hit and hold a player for 4 game weeks lets say, that’s a point per week and who knows how much increase in TV if he’s on the rise and the player I sold was falling. Plus his (hopefully) better point tally at the end of the month. So I’ve just been looking at things a bit differently this season and trying it out. Still try not to go hit crazy of course, but I’m much more open to it than I used to be.

        • inittowinit says:

Not sure what the answer is Red. Probably a measured mix. I’m not one to often say ‘hey look at me’ but as a case in point, and as a measured study over some time, it’s possibly interesting in that if you look at my rank history over the last 9 seasons I can say that’s been achieved by not taking hits predominantly. At least as a general policy. It’s generally worked. Had I been more loose with those then who knows which way it’d have gone.

        • RedVT says:

Wow, I’ve never looked at your past season ranks init. You’ve got some great ones in there! 422 overall?? Geez, I should listen to you more often!! laugh

Thousands Red. All set for tomorrow. Or next week now as they’ll soon realise!

Good morning lads. I some feedback on my new team. I’ve hit a corsseoad in my EPL life. Do I keep Ali and Sterling or transfer them out for Walcott and Countinho once they’re back. Both pairs of mids are the exact same price and all will give me excellent coverage. feedback is appreciated.
