Live Match Chat Gameweek 19 FPL News

Welcome to Live Match Chat Gameweek 19 FPL News: We hope you enjoyed your one day off from football because that’s it now until the 4th January! Seriously. We don’t recommend you tell the loved one this, or indeed the wife, but you can kick back and relax now knowing that there are potentially FPL points up for grabs every single day of the holiday. It’s so intense that GW19 ends on Sunday at about 6pm and GW20 begins at 11.30pm on Monday! Given the obvious lack of time between those we won’t have any help articles up between those two but everybody will be around as usual to help with team questions and queries so feel free to pepper the chat below with those. As for the gameweek itself we begin with a single game this evening as Everton travel to Hull at 8pm. Saturday then sees six 3pm kick offs plus a potential evening cracker as Klopp hosts Pep. Sunday concludes the week with two games and two London derbies just for some added spice. Good luck on the tube if you are down there for New Year!

So, getting in Baines for Walker turned out to be fruitful..7 points. I’ll take that..just hope my captain decision comes out to be good too.

    Hello all,

I had few horrid weeks between GW14-17 and than week 18 best of the season so far.

I would like to ask for an opinion in regards to my team:

I had few brainfarts in transfer department like Okaka in for example. I also drafted in Kane before Hull game for a hit and at 11.3 and I`m still pissed off about.Especially that I had Eriksen lined up to be captain that week. Costed me more than 20 points. Fair to say that I don`t particularly believe in taking hits. I took 4 this season and I was successful only once.
Also had Bailly only to find out he got injured and didn`t play a single minute for 3 weeks I owned him.

Currently I`m thinking to try without Aguero for next few weeks. I`m still owning Kane as I hope it will be similar story to Ibra and he will score loads when he wakes up. The skills are there. I guess this will be one of decisive factors for my season. If I can withhold urge to transfer him out.

As you can see I also don`t own Sanchez or Chelsea defender. Hm, having thought about that maybe I should give up.

Anyway, for next few weeks I plan to get someone for Siggy. Maybe Lallana or Pedro. Although anytime I get Liverpool player he gets injured within 3 GW. Happened with Couthino, Lallana and Matip.

I also want to change my defenders a bit. Anytime I watch Bournemouth and see Francis I despair. On the other hand Ake looks very exciting prospect. he won`t keep scoring goals like crazy though.
McAuley was super solid so far but I`m afraid about his age and Brunt looks great.
Maybe I will get a chance to draft in sub goalie as I play with Heaton only for last 4 months. I was actually thinking on buying Robinson from Burnley.
I guess Okaka needs to be reconsidered as well. There are few options in sub 6.5 categories or maybe I will turn to Anichebe? I decided to go for 3-5-2 so he would be bench fodder anyway.

      Any thoughts appreciated.

This would be my Ibra/Costa/Aguero team if I played my wildcard… looks pretty.

    So the question is which…
    Valencia, Vertonghen, Sanchez and Rondon
    OR
    Jones, Ake, Lallana and Aguero

    Which would you choose?

Would struggle to have a front 3 of kun ibra and Costa in my team.

Merry Christmas chaps (and imminent Happy New Year!). Have been a bit of an absentee from these parts so far this season and my ranking is certainly not helped by that. How is everyone? Have missed the bantering and shared frustration :cuss:

Was wondering if anyone’d oblige me with some advice on my team. Front line needs another big hitter, and since I’ll lose Mane very shortly he is likely to be the makeweight. If I want, e.g., Zlatan in for Ichy then I can do Mane > Lallana, but will also need Alli > 5.1 (Stanislas?). I like Firmino, unless he gets rested at some point. Don’t seem to have a lot of money… Any thoughts most welcome!

Hey Pippin, hope you are well. That sounds like a pretty good plan already in all honesty.

        • Pippin says:

          Thanks Init, I’m well. Yourself?

The only downside I see is that I still have 3 Liverpool attackers, which is fine if they’re in form, but perhaps means I lack coverage of other teams. Certainly the option I outline above leaves me without Spurs attackers, who are entering a nice run. On the other hand, dropping both Mane + Firmino to bring in Lallana feels like a bit of a sideways move, even if its purpose is to free up funds and enable Zlatan up front. Will ponder it some more.

      • Pancho says:

        Hi Pippin!
Would you have enough by just doing Mane to Phillips/Allen/Stanislas? Let’s see how Stan does and how much gametime he gets and he may be the way to go!

        • Pippin says:

Yo Pancho. How are you mate? Snowy where you are? How’s your season going?

Mane to a 5.1m means I could get in Kane for Ichy, but not Zlatan for either Ichy/Origi. And I think Zlatan is a more pressing transfer in than Kane.

Can’t honestly see a way to get a premium second striker in without a -8. Which is annoying but perhaps necessary if I’m to avoid falling behind those who have two top strikers, plus Sanchez/Hazard.
