Live Match Chat Gameweek 20 FPL News
Welcome to Live Match Chat Gameweek 20 FPL News: We hope you enjoyed your 17 hours free from FPL and football in general! Yes, you read it right, GW19 ended last night and GW20 starts this morning. Now if that doesn’t smack of rotation then we don’t know what does. Obviously the teams are spread out in some sort of equal ‘ish’ fashion but there is also the issue of having so little time that some injuries will not be reported on. It’s a bit hit and hope in that respect at this time of year and so the team sheets will be eagerly anticipated and we begin at 12.30pm with ‘Boro hosting Leicester, followed by four 3pm games and today ends with Man united visiting West Ham. Tuesday evening see three games, before our week and Christmas period itself finally ends on Wednesday with Spurs hosting Chelsea amid echoes of a certain New Years Day fixture two years ago ending up 5-3 to the hosts, albeit a few days earlier than the anniversary.

Happy New Year lads! Hope everyone is having/had a festive few weeks (incl. FPL-wise). So, was just playing around with a just-for-fun WC and got this. Whatdya think?
Grant / Jaku
Alonso / Daniels / Brunt / Baines / Ake
Sanchez / Lallana / Alli / Phillips / Fraser
Costa / Ibra / Giroud
It’d be a headache each week deciding who to play but kinda tempted to hit the WC early as most of these lads are super in form. Prolly not though… Anyone else I could/should fit in?
edit: a lot of them got Form AND Fixture.
My players don’t have the best fixtures listed ahead but they do have form and the stats on their side.
Only player I have my doubts about is Firminho. Mainly because he keeps starting in another position. If he was striker, he’d be my main man. Sadly both him and Sanchez have been playing wider roles.
Raz — But you’re doing well, mate, keeping a steady ship and ranking. Nice going!
Yeah, took some risks that didn’t pay off and some that did. I feel this gameweek after a failing 8 point hit that another 8 point hit would work and it did. Hehe. Did Evans (1p) to Baines (15p) and Hazard (?P) to Phillips (9p) and Carroll (1p) to Kun (7p). So, happy with this 3 moves. Not only does my team looking better, the moves actually worked out. I felt devastated after I saw the City lineups and figured I’d be killed this gameweek. But all has worked out. In hindsight, even the Stanislas risk has paid off.
Nicewon!
Any thoughts on this WC team?
Hey Sanchez, where have you been?! Hope you are well my friend.how serious are you about playing this WC? 30/70 in favour of not I’d suspect, knowing you!
Hey Initt. Been busy a bit with fam stuff and travel and haven’t been able to participate on the boards as much as I would like. I’ll be back soon though.
Re: WC–the more I stare at the team, the more I wanna hit the damn WC button!! Haha.
And yet you know full well why you shouldn’t!
Sorry mate, didn’t notice. Off for bed, but team looks great. I would upgrade Grant though. Furthermore, awesome team. Ooh yes, maybe Stanislas instead of Fraser?
Aaah finally Kun is rising. YES, YES, YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
By the way, Kun did in 45 what the Sanchez and Ibra just barely could do in 90. 😉
KUN MY MAN! ^^
This makes me happy since I hope these players won’t be affordable for people when City meet Swansea. 😉
7 points isn’t great. I’m going with Giroud over Sanchez and Walcott
Thinking of allen to stanislas before he goes up…. Too early???
I’d be willing to risk some price drops/rises on players this GW with all the cup games still to come, I’ve got Zaha and Mane to shift from my squad but the max I could lose on not going early is only .2 and even if my targets rise a little I should still be able to afford them comfortably, them price predictor sites will probably be a little iffy this GW with the amount of WC’s being played so you might have more time than you imagine before the price changes occur. (Mane’s been predicted to fall the last two days and yet he still hasn’t dropped yet.)
Cheers Andy. Stanislas may be a better bet than allen going forward but you’re probably right about having more time to do the transfer.
Hey guys, how’s it going? Anyone think Stanislas could rival Phillips for the budget midfielder with the best points potential? Bournemouth’s next 3 matches look pretty nice. Thinking about bringing him in to replace Siggy in my 3-5-2 as my 5th mid. Was pretty set on Phillips but his next match is away to Spurs and Stanislas looked great today.
Hi Red, I’m seriouslly considering owning both. I have Phillips already (just bough him) but I agree with you, Stan looked good. Granted Arsenal’s inability to hold up play enhanced that but B’mouth somehow always manage to look good going forward so he should get some nice points for us in the next few games. That would also free up some very needed funds to spend elsewhere so yeah I’d do that!
I’m also in the market for a Zaha replacement this week so I did some stat finding on whoscored
Stats are :- Shots per game, shots within the penalty box, key passes and good to bad fixtures over the next 5
Philips 1.7 0.6 1.6 3+2
Snodgrass 1.9 0.7 1.8 1+4
Allen 1.3 0.8 1.1 3+2
Stanislas 2.1 0.7 0.9 3+2
Townsend 2.2 0.2 1.3 3+2
Januzaj 1 0.8 1.4 2+3
Not a lot really to choose between them stats wise but that 5.1 price tag on Stan makes him look mighty tempting.
Thanks DMC and Andy, appreciate your thoughts. For the money I think Stanislas could be a great pick for the next few weeks, those fixtures are perfect for him. I was reading some earlier comments and heard Andy cautioning someone from early transfers with the Cup matches coming up, so I’m going to hold off as long as possible before doing anything. Hope your game week is going well, happy new year fellas.
Red, if it helps I have them both. Brought Stan in last week for Gundogan (yes, I somehow still had him) and brought Matty P in yesterday for Capoue. Should have gotten Marty P weeks ago for Gundogan but better late than never!
Hey guys,What would you guys with this lot??Thinking of getting rid of siggy but for whom alli, coutinho??Have 1 ft and 2.6 m itb.
Hi Shane, I’d go Alli for now, he’s in his stride. Coutinho may take a few games to get back to his level.
I’d go Alli for now and monitor Coutinho when he gets back.
Other than that your team looks great!
