Live Match Chat Gameweek 20 FPL News
Welcome to Live Match Chat Gameweek 20 FPL News: We hope you enjoyed your 17 hours free from FPL and football in general! Yes, you read it right, GW19 ended last night and GW20 starts this morning. Now if that doesn’t smack of rotation then we don’t know what does. Obviously the teams are spread out in some sort of equal ‘ish’ fashion but there is also the issue of having so little time that some injuries will not be reported on. It’s a bit hit and hope in that respect at this time of year and so the team sheets will be eagerly anticipated and we begin at 12.30pm with ‘Boro hosting Leicester, followed by four 3pm games and today ends with Man united visiting West Ham. Tuesday evening see three games, before our week and Christmas period itself finally ends on Wednesday with Spurs hosting Chelsea amid echoes of a certain New Years Day fixture two years ago ending up 5-3 to the hosts, albeit a few days earlier than the anniversary.

Marco Silva is apparentely the new Hull coach. Good choice. Just need to buy them players now!
Hello guys, need some expert advise on my team. I feel like I have 3 urgent areas to address. I have 0.5m itb
1. Downgrade Evans/holebas to a 4.4m df (Chambers/Ake/Nyom)
2. Upgrade Forshaw to stanislas? But lack 0.1m
3. Sell Siggy due to his upcoming fixtures?
Can’t decide which is more important and to maximize the value with minimal hits!
Any thots ?

I think you’re defence and attackers are fine for the time being and that it is the midfield which needs some work.
I don’t think carrying two cheap players in Carrick AND Forshaw is helping so I would upgrade one of those. Sigurdsson and Forshaw to Stanislas and Antonio/Mirallas/Townsend?
I’m quite sure of Stanislas but not sure of the 4th mid. Very tempted to go with 4 at back and double on Chelsea def. thanks man
Ah, a fellow Ibra-Kun-Costa player!
Speaking about the questions you raise:
I do not think that Evans is an urgent issue since you have 3/4 playing defenders. Hobelas’ return is poor, but I wouldn’t make it a priority either.
What about Siggy–>Stanislas, which would give you some money to improve Forshaw next time?
More generally, I would try to inject extra money in the mids. I see that you afford two premium defenders; I would sacrifice one to be able to have a second top mid (Coutinho in a couple of weeks?)
I think I’ve narrowed my options. Siggy to Stanislas and next :
1. Upgrade Evans/holebas to double up on Chelsea def and play 4-3-3 or
2. Upgrade Forshaw to Antonio
I have succumbed to the temptation of the Wildcard!
Any general advice on how to utilize a wildcard?
Any other transfer advice would also be greatly appreciated.
Foster/Jakupovic
Azi, Ake, Mee, Amat
Eriksen, Hazard, Pogba, Ali, Allen
Ibra, Costa, Origi
Definitely getting rid of Jakupovic, Amat and Origi. Not sure bout the rest.
Thanks boys!
Have gone with the preliminary
Grant/Foster
McAuley, Azi,Ake,Mee,Amat
Philips, Hazard, Pogba, Ali, Allen
Ibra, Costa, Giroud
Any thoughts?
lsd1980,
personnally, I would try to fit Sanchez in. Especially given his coming fixtures. I am also not convinced about Pogba’s returns FPL-wise.
What about Hazard, Pogba->Sanchez, Lallana? That would also give you some Pool coverage.
lsd1980s
I think this is decent advice actually. It may be better to have one each of United, Chelsea, Arsenal and Liverpool for the rest of the season rather than double United and Chelsea
Thanks Vinci that sounds like great advice!
Oops. Thanks Vinci
Afternoon gents. Haven’t been on for a while, maybe due to lack of enthusiasm around an awful FPL season. Anyways not all is lost, however whilst on that topic I am due to lose about 0.5m in price drops over the coming days. This is the current situation:
Time for a WC?
Apologies about the rotation. I just thought I’d make it more difficult to help me.
Lol
I think 6 or 7 problem players is usually when it’s about time to call in the WC if you don’t mind not keeping it for a DGW and you are on the threshold of that here.
Snoddy is the only one who jumps out at me as one I would possibly avoid for now. His fixtures get really bad after this week. I’d probably look at Stan in for him. Maybe even the you could use the small price difference to upgrade one of the defenders or even Fletcher.
aright Init, hope you had a good xmas and new years.
Yeah the original plan was to keep it for the DGWs at the back end of the season but I’m at the point now where I’m just falling further and further back in the mini leagues.
What about keeping foster and using the money to get Yaya instead of snoddy?
Yeah that could work. Shame you can’t find that little bit more and go for Alli.
It is a tough call. Your team is not too bad, but indeed could benefit some serious reshaping!
What about just taking a hit and shipping Origi and Zaha, probably the most pressing issues?
I cannot comment on your WC team though, that I cannot see correctly
Well, I resolved to turn my neck for the WC team.
Agree about Snoddy for Stan. Also, I wouldn’t double Courtois with a Chelsea defender. Isn’t it better to get Heaton and use the extra mil for the midfield? Or to store it for Lallana–>Coutinho?
Thanks for the thoughts Vinci, hope the neck’s okay haha.
Looking to bring in a cheap 5th mid. Can anyone tell me more about Ryan Fraser? His game time is sporadic but he’s brought in some decent points. I see he’s flagged as well…
@Micbarca, Think he came off because of a calf injury, last I checked he was being assessed. His sporadic minutes probably have to do with Howe’s feeling towards him, but even if Eddie doesn’t feel like Fraser is necessarily a sure starter he will not pull him from the XI now if he is fit. Besides is not like he is starting someone over him that is very good. The Cherries had Adam Smith starting as a winger over Fraser and Ibe. He is what I would categorize as pesky. Full of pace, midget and a hustler from what I have seen. I rather have Stanislas over him for .3 more, but if the .3 is the difference he could be worth a punt, with the understanding that it is a punt and his minutes are not guaranteed if he has an off game.
Awesome!! Yeah the .3 is the difference right now and I don’t mind him being flagged since he’s not going straight to my XI anyways. But he seems worth the price for my last spot! Like the way he shrugged off Bellerin too haha thanks Mito!!
He’s actually a very good 5th mid and I think he will get more playing time when fit. Never change a winning formula and Stanislas and him are working.
Fraser reminds me of Shaqiri. Plays like him and even looks like him! I was really impressed with him yesterday!
Been messing around looking at all the fixtures over the coming weeks, with possible blanks and DGWs. Surely not the mess from last season, but nevertheless it could turn into a slight mess in particular if United and City have a blank in 26 and possibly 28. Whatever causes the most chaos will make me happy.
Sounds very Mito-esque of you! :winktongue:
At least five of the Premier league teams will be going out In the third round so I’m hopeful of at least a decent turnout of games for GW 28, that Manchester derby will be on a DGW as no way will Hull be getting anything from that league cup semi.
Think I seen the projection at 5 games being moved and that seems about right, because I just checked last season and there were 10 teams with blanks when they played the FA Cup Quarters. In those 10 there were these teams> Arsenal, LFC, Everton, Chelsea and United. So we should expect a rough GW in 28, if Last season is any indicator.
