Live Match Chat Gameweek 27 FPL News
Welcome to Live Match Chat Gameweek 27 FPL News: We are off!! Can you say goal-fest? Well, that is what managers who are backing Ibra and the newly minted Mickey Mouse Cup champions are hoping for, when United host the shambolic defending of the Cherries. After United put 5 on Bournemouth in the lunch time kick-off, we see five 3pm fixtures follow that. Leicester won’t have it as easy as they did last week vs LFC as they face Hull this week, Stoke and Boro match up in a fixture that a sadist might make someone watch. If that last fixture isn’t enough to bore someone to death, perhaps Swans vs Burnley on tape delay? If you have enough time, make sure to also check out Watford take on the Saints and The Baggies square off against Palace. That might be the worst package of five fixtures I have ever seen that start at the same time. If you somehow made it without jumping off a bridge to the last game of the day, congratulations. Luckily, the 5:30 game promises a bit more talent and two teams desperate for a result. When the Wenger In/Out crew tangles with perennial trolls Liverpool. That one should be fun and full of angst for both set of fans.
Sunday sees two fixtures. In what hopefully is the fixture of the week, Spurs tangle with the Toffees. These two are both in great form and bring star power with a Kane vs Lukaku match-up. In the late game, Sunderland welcome in City. The Black Cats who sit bottom need a result badly and City who are on the up, will be a very difficult home game, well, unless Pep does Peppy things and rotates his team into a loss.
Monday caps the game-week off when The Hammers host Chelsea. West Ham usually gives CFC some trouble at home, winning 2 of the last 4. So maybe this could be more entertaining than it appears on paper.

So happy i went with Lanzini over Snodgrass.bith my previous week’s pocks making me proud.(mane and Lanzini). Cheers
Nice picks Constantine
Same here, but waiting patiently for his 10 pts to come off the bench for Phillips!
good job Colriles..hope he does well against leaky B’mouth.(they weren’t so leaky against Utd though)
Just to keep everyone updated on the articles, we have basically given the Fixtures and Tips teams a week off. Reason being that there are only 4 games and they’d all just end up covering the same stuff really, in all honesty. They do sometimes when there’s 10! Live match chat will stay up now until after the City – Stoke game on Wednesday but then we have a treat for you – Bry is doing a hybrid Capo / Tips one. I can’t wait to read it! After that the Site team will be up on Thursday night and then we will have Cookie as normal on Friday with the previews and team news on Around The Grounds.
I had actually started a bit of statistical analysis on the 4 fixtures this week but I didn’t think it warranted an article so I will just post my preliminary findings below… (all goals for or against are home or away, not in total)
Bournemouth vs West ham :
Bournemouth –
Goals For 21
Goals Against 21
W-D-L : 5-3-5
West Ham –
Goals For 21
Goals Against 22
W-D-L : 4-3-6
Conclusion
This is fairly even all round. Neither are particularly top of the class or indeed bottom in terms of scoring or conceding at home or away respectively. It’s about 1.7 goals per game scored and conceded by both. Something ranging from 1-1 to 2-2 would be about right then.
…………………………………….
Everton vs The Goal Machine Albion
Everton –
Goals For 27
Goals Against 10
W-D-L : 8-4-1
TGMA –
Goals For 12
Goals Against 17
W-D-L : 3-5-2
Conclusion
Everton have the 4th best record for home goals this season and the 2nd best on show this week. In contrast West Brom actually have the 6th best record for away goals conceded, which is the best on display this week. With Everton averaging more than 2 per game you’d think that they will score this week. It could be a low scoring affair though given West Brom’s resilience plus the fact that they have only scored 12 away themselves in 10 games. TGM will have got at least 8 of those, without checking
……………………………………
Hull vs Swansea
Hull –
Goals For 17
Goals Against 22
W-D-L : 4-4-5
Swansea –
Goals For 14
Goals Against 29
W-D-L : 3-1-9
Conclusion
Hull rank 16th for goals conceded at home which is the worst of the home teams this week. Likewise Swansea rank 18th overall in the same respect and are also the worst in that respect of the teams playing this week. These are both very different teams though now to the ones who were on display pre-Christmas so the stats are far less relevant here. It could go either way and should be a thrilling encounter.
…………………………………
Liverpool v Burnley
Liverpool –
Goals For 34
Goals Against 12
W-D-L : 9-3-1
Burnley –
Goals For 8
Goals Against 28
W-D-L : 0-2-11
Conclusion
This is pretty much one way traffic in theory. Klopp just has to convince his players that they are facing a top 4 side! Liverpool have scored the 2nd most at home overall and the most this week by a good margin, Burnley are notoriously bad away and have conceded 28 away – the 2nd worst this week, just 1 behind Swansea. They struggle scoring away as well – 8 is the 2nd worst overall and by far the worst this week.
Conclusion
3-1 to Burnley 😉

Quality stuff, mate !
Statistics & analyses are never too much 😉 !
Thanks !
Always love statistics..gives you a clearer picture.cheers initt. Having attack options from the eight teams playing can be good. defence doesn’t matter i believe as all of the teams would contradict each other. Although, I’ve already made my transfers, but still wait patiently for Bry’s article. They always are a treat to read. Thanks mate
Many thanks for the early analysis. Quality stuff. Since it’s going to be a week where hits are very tempting, I’ve been following FFFix more carefully than usual. They just came up with an excuse for their plummeting success rates on predicting price changes:
“06 Mar: The DGW affects price rise thresholds. We pointed this on our Twitter feed on 22nd April 2015 while others said “it was wildcards”. It is not a new rule. It is under investigation how to exactly correct for this, but it is likely that thresholds are doubled in the GW before a DGW. ”
FWIW.
Morning guys, made a school boy error yesterday, transferring in Carroll for Carrick only to realize I already have Siggy and Amat which means I can’t bring in Llorente.
I’m thinking of bringing in anther Pool mid for Sterling but I have to move Aguero to another striker to free up some funds. But I can’t see any striker options apart from Llorente and I have doubts with Hammers Carroll.
Help pls
Coys9,
No need for lots of hits because it will cause different problems for the next GWs. Many teams may have only 7-9 players.
What about Sterling to Coutinho?
Can’t afford it only 0.1m itb
I’m chasing my ML leader by 40 points. As of this gw he has only 3-4 players for gw28. If he were to load up, I would expect Lukaku, Mane/Coutinho and Siggy to be the main ones and I doubt he would do more than. This doesn’t help much in terms of closing the gap. I suppose I need to risk a few more players.
No love for West ham Mid?
Antonio maybe??
Good shout. He’ll be back for next week. I have personally gone with Lanzini and it worked for me.
How about Phillips/Sterling to Fraser/Flrmino?
Asides to Initt.. Have finally received my T-shirt for GW8 comp. Thanks a lot for taking the pain(and cost obv) and sending it through. My brother is happy now. Much appreciated mate.
Ah good news then, only took us 20 weeks
Morning lads,I have a problem in my team.i am in pursuit of my ml leader, I m second,and he is there only because of Kane and erriksen,but has 2 premium forwards.i can’t put any of those spurs in my team without messing it, I ll have 3 premium forwards after gw 28 Costa kaku aguero and it seems that s my only advantage.what should I do;
Teo, you still have 4 good players left to play. Let the GW finish first, then you can think of future transfers.
So how confident are you for GW28?
Should be a great opportunity to make some ground up / pull away in our MLs?
My team (any comments REALLY appreciated!)
Happy to bench Kane and kun. Likely to held them both if kun continues to improve.
(That’s why I pay attention to squad value…)
Did u take many hits to get to this team?
2. But both non playing, and one a long term concern.
So they easily pay for themselves.
I figure why wouldn’t you take advantage of the “subsidised” hits, especially If you want the player you are bringing in for more than a game.
Good planning and nice team. I’m at 6-7 players gw28. Sigh
Hey James
Looking good buddy
Best 28 team I’ve seen on here.
Should smash it..!
Where u get all ur cash from.
Team looks expensive?
I stole / sold one of cookie’s spare yachts. Don’t tell him!!
Nah, I always pay attention to squad value. It makes the second half of the season way more fun.
Thanks!!
Good luck with yours mate.
james, Good to see that you have managed a team of 11 players for GW28. Very rare sight i must say. I have managed to get 10 players. Dont want to take a hit and jeopardize my next few weeks. cheers
James, Everyone else has stated the obvious good stuff, so I’ll point out the bad stuff: Ake??? :winktongue:
Great team for 28!
