Live Match Chat Gameweek 31 FPL News

Welcome to Live Match Chat Gameweek 31 FPL News: Time to get excited folks. Come on now, who doesn’t love a midweek FPL game-week?! 10 games, 2 days, bish bash bosh. No messing about. No waiting for Friday’s early KO (yep, remember them? They’re coming back to a screen near you soon…) and then having it all drag on until Monday evening. Midweek FPL gets the job done like Joe Pesci in a bar room. We start with 4 games games on Tuesday with the main FPL highlights probably being Heaton attempting to single-handedly thwart Stoke, Vardy attempting to Party against Sunderland, Watford wondering how to stop McAuley and Ibra finally being unleashed once more. Wednesday brings a quick conclusion with the Wenger banners being readied, ‘Boro in ‘not scoring shocker’, Big Sam furthering his England manager claims, Spurs beating the crap out of Swansea, Chelsea putting the title to bed and then finises with a Liverpool midfielder posting a huge score against Bournemouth. The only question being which one…

As ever, post your comments and enjoy the games. Together.

DGW34 IS ON THERE AS CONFIRMED BUT DGW37 IS VERY MUCH PROVISIONAL!
That’s our best guess as to how it will pan out and there is still Southampton vs Arsenal to be rearranged. That looks likely to be in GW35 or 36. The FPL site itself has said that they expect the remaining games to be confirmed on or around the 7th April.

Teams with DGW’s ahead… (with thanks to Rosco)

United are complete shite. Is that the team spending the most money? WOW!

    Waxys says:

Bit the bullet and got Vardy Walcott and Sane in for a -4 hit can anyone recommend a good defender for me for 4.1 or 4.2 cost for my bench?

      banjomaker says:

Before Williams got sent off I definitely would’ve said Holgate, but Everton may struggle now with their defense decimated.

      Stephens (So’ton)…
      Fits perfectly…

      inittowinit says:

I’m confused! Why are you picking up a bench player for another hit? You’ve confirmed the above transfers already. If you hadn’t you wouldn’t be able to see that screen. The transfer proposals would be in yellow boxes still.

      Rosco77 says:

You bought Vardy, Walcott, Sane, Stephens and Holgate!!? And in the middle of a GW! This is bonkers even by your standards Waxys! Ha ha
What’s more worrying is you’ve bought players for your bench too!! It’s like a whole new Waxys.. well aside from the multiple transfers before 60% of the game week has been played!
Your team looks good though! You getting close to top 10k?

      • Waxys says:

No no I had thosecplauers before this week I just bought in Vardy and Stephens. Only Stephen for a bench player as he’s gong up in price and I want holgate as an emergency reserve to finalise my team

        • Rosco77 says:

Ah right that’s not so bad! It’s good that you’re working on your bench with so much rotation and injuries you’ll need players who can come in from your bench as and when. I would try to be a little more trigger happy though and wait for a GW to finish before making moves as you’ll kick yourself if Stephens then picks up a knock or a sending off tomorrow, hopefully you’ll be ok though!

        • Rosco77 says:

Less trigger happy not more was meant to say! Haha def not more!

        • Waxys says:

Haha thanks for the advice Rosko it’s not my fault EPL price rises are crazy this year tho 😉 I’m in such a budget that even a 0.1 rise erodes my plans

        • Waxys

It is actually your fault (or at least your partly at fault). If people weren’t transferring players in early in the week, especially mid-gameweek, then the transfer market would be far more secure and price rises/falls wouldn’t affect us as much..

      Kop Warrior says:

You’ve taken a -4 and there’s still 6 games tomorrow night? Where’s the logic in that?

      • Waxys says:

Well Kop he’s going up any moment and if Stephen goes up I won’t e able to afford a second playing bench player. The current state of the season I need two playing bench players.

        • banjomaker says:

I thought you had 4.2 to spend? Stephens is only 4.0 and won’t rise before tonight’s games anyway. Sounds risky to me, but good luck!

        • Waxys says:

Yeah Banjo only have 4.1. Coleman is out for the season so holgate will be a risk. I understand what you mean by rushing things but Stephens isn’t a striker or anything he’s a defender injuries are less common I don’t think anything will happen.

        • banjomaker says:

I admire your balls (that sounds a bit weird reading it back!). I would wish you all the best, but I do take pleasure from scummers picking up injuries 😉

    banjomaker says:

What’s people’s thoughts on Ibra? Is he essential for DGW34? I think my plan is to ditch Costa for him, but not sure when. Could do it now before Sunderland away, but then Chelsea have Bournemouth next. Then it’s Chelsea at Old Trafford?! Is Ibra a rotation risk, with United’s season resting on the UEFA Cup?

    • 34.1
      Raziel says:

United are out of the top 4 race. Don’t see him playing those 2 games. Shit, I sort of feel annoyed I got Valencia because I know he won’t.

    • 34.2
      inittowinit says:

Jose said he’d see how the next two league games went and if it wasn’t likely to end in a top 4 spot that he’d rotate accordingly with the Europa taking priority.

      • Raziel says:

His first season at United has been a complete disaster if you ask me. And it’s not like they haven’t brought in worldclass players. They completed upgraded the team and didn’t have half the amount of injuries they had last season.

They bought the best player from the Italian league, one of the best from the German and they got the best from the French. How … is beyond me.

        • DMC says:

It’s the rest of the team that is below par imo. I don’t think the after Real Madrid Jose fits very well for Utd’s mentality but he hasn’t done that bad. If you compare this team to that of Chelsea, City and even Arsenal you must accept they are not supposed to be much higher. That being said I think Poch and Klopp work wonders with what they have in their hands. Jose’s second seasons are always better and if they to get CL next year we’ll see a much improved side imo.

        • Raz

It can’t be a complete disaster if he has won two trophies and is a big favourite for a third and CL qualification.

I agree he has made some mistakes (Schweinsteiger was dreadful management and he admitted so) but it will take more than one season to sort out the problems of the past couple of years.

      • banjomaker says:

Just been checking out the dates, and the DGW comes after the UEFA Cup, and well before any semi final, so there’s a chance he’ll feature. I think moving for him prior to then is more risky, as if Jose wants him rested it’ll be for GW33, although that is against Chelsea! It all seems a little risky.

        • Raziel says:

OOoh, nice Banjo. But would he really want to rest his best player against his former team?

        • DMC says:

Banjo – just to add that the Europa semi final is actually one week after dgw34’s second game.

        • banjomaker says:

Yea that’s where my thought processes were. The obvious time to rest him would be against Chelsea, but you know Jose will want that one!!!

I reckon a week after the game is more than enough time to rest, without needing to drop him.

    Pancho says:

22 from these three with 8 to play tomorrow. Was panicking before Vardy scored…

  6. 36
    Raziel says:

Bloody disrespectful display by Leicester towards their previous manager whom helped them win the EPL. I still can’t believe you play from absolute shite to this. They were never trying.
