Live Match Chat Gameweek 33 FPL News

Welcome to Live Match Chat Gameweek 33 FPL News: Just the six gameweeks left and so time is running out to close down those mini-leagues, make a late run for glory or consolidate what you have, all in the pursuit of office bragging rights. It may just be six gameweeks but not all gameweeks are created equal, as we are about to find out. At least three of them will be DGW’s. This is the part of the season when planning and preparation come to the fore and the casuals are left in a daze wondering how their seemingly unassailable 100 point lead suddenly turned into a deficit. Chips will be brandished like confetti. And those that can’t will learn lessons about patience.

GW33 is perhaps one of the last of the ‘normal’ gameweeks when all 10 teams will play, and just once at that. Spurs kick us off with a home fixture on Saturday lunchtime, much as they did last week when they mauled Watford. This time their victims are Bournemouth. And this time they will probably have Kane and not Janssen…

Saturday continues with five 3pm kick offs as Palace welcome a rampant Leicester, Everton batter Burnley, Stoke bore Hull, Sunderland pretend to care against West Ham before we finish with Watford teasing Swansea.

Saturday closes out with Man City visiting an in form and stubborn Southampton at tea-time.

Sunday begins with West ‘out of the office until August 2017’ Brom hosting Liverpool before we get to Jose trying to derail Chelsea’s title bid at 4pm.

The gameweek ends on Monday as we count the banners again. And planes. And planes with banners. Seriously, how much determination and / or money do these people have?! Anyway, if anyone notices or cares for the game itself it is Middlesbrough facing Arsenal.

Please join us as ever to discuss the games as they happen and share your feelings, successes and woes as the action unfolds and hopefully the FPL points flood in for you.

  1. I’m happy with my 59 points! I was going to complain about having Capoue’s 8 points wasted on the bench but out of compassion for Cookie I won’t. :winktongue:

    • Jags on fire

    • Aye but only 2 DGW players for next week so we’ll get it all back shortly enough, in all seriousness that’s a cracking score for this GW so far.

    • Thanks guys! Never would have played Capoue over Zaha or Siggy, so I just need to ignore his points.
Andy, I am a bit concerned still about next week, but I may just get Ibra and call it good.

      • That sounds good to me, even better if you can do it for Costa, I’ve got 5 on a DGW before my FT and it’s probably too many in all honesty as I haven’t got a WC now to flip them out afterwards.

        • No WC left for me either Andy, so I’m not going as hard as a may otherwise.

  2. I considered a -4 for Kane and didn’t do it and played safe, looking at my ‘fun team’ who I got Kane in for makes depressing reading with Kanes 24 points as captain but looking at what points I would have scored with my serious team I’d have only been 6 points better off:
    Aguero 6
    Lukaku 12
    Erik 7
    Zaha 2

    Points 27

    Kane 24
    Kaku 6
    Snoddy 5
    Zaha 2
    -4

    Points 33

Sometimes things look worse than they are! Got 2 players left on my ‘fun team’ and 3 on my ‘proper team’ so who knows how I’ll end up!

  3. Evening everyone. Hope you all got good scores. Looks like 47 for me with Coutinho, Alonso and De Gea left. Team is below with £0m in the bank. I’m thinking Lukaku > Ibra and Siggy > Zaha for -4 …Good idea?

  4. So who is the prime candidate for the chop to get Ibra in? I have Lukaku, Kane & Vardy and leaning towards Vardy but not wholly convinced

    • SAF, I’d get Vardy out of the three. Do you still have your WC left? If yes, then you can get him back anytime. If no then it’s ok to chase points now and think of dgw37 and prepare your team accordingly

    • Vardy

  5. Is there Anyone out there? Need to rant about my team’s abysmal performance. ;). Very bad weeks last two. Only scored 31 till now. Although i still have sanchez, negredo and ibra left to play.

    • Oh, and Valencia too.

    • I had two bad weeks as well this week is much better. What’s your plan for gw34 ?

      • coys9, thanks for the reply. I already have got Benteke in for Aguero. I have my WC left so will bring him back in for DGW37 but that’s dependant on the return of Jesus too. For next week, I have Benteke, Negredo, Ibra, Valencia and Zaha as the double players. Hope they all start both their games. Thinking of bringing Gibson in too.

        • Looks like ur all set for gw34!

        • Bit concern on Ibra’s fatigue comments. Anyone who hasn’t got him and NOT planning to get Ibra for Gw34?

        • Sorry last one supposed to be a new thread
