Live Match Chat Gameweek 35 FPL News
Welcome to Live Match Chat Gameweek 35 FPL News: After a sensational Alvaro Negredo display in DGW 34, we head into a buffer of sorts. With doubles in 34, 36 and 37, this GW we can relax a little, sort of. We kick it off with four 3pm fixtures. It is pure excitement when the low scoring Saints tangle with a difficult opponent to not score on, Hull. It should be a test of wills to see who underperforms more, the Saints attack or the Hull defence. If you think that doesn’t offer enough to make you fall asleep, perhaps a taste of Stoke vs West Ham? Over the last 10 matches these two are 16th in 17th in points and have scored 20 goals combined over those 10×2 games. Yeah, a goal a game. So snooze should be on the loose in this one. For those that don’t need a mid afternoon nap, I present to you Sunderland vs Bournemouth. This could provide us with comedy gold, in particular on defence, as neither team attempts to play any. The last of the opening 4 fixtures sees West Brom welcome in Leicester, yeah, moving on. In the 5:30 game Palace hosts those away stars, Burnley. With 3 draws in their last 6 away games, think we can say they are in-form, perhaps I will place a bet on them.
Luckily after enduring a Saturday of not having any real footy to watch and feeling properly rested, we come to Sunday. Yes, yes, yes, yes…sorry was watching when Harry met Sally orga, errrr, restaurant scene. Where were we at? Oh yes, Sunday footy. Lunch time sees the battle for fourth resume, as United tangles with a Swansea side who also has a lot to play for. Both teams in need of a win, will hopefully lead to some goals, maybe, Jose is capable of sucking the fun out of any game, so be aware. That is followed by two 2pm-ish encounters. Boro and their vaunted attack will look to score some goals, well, a goal vs City. City’s fans (player’s families) will want to get out of that red velvet sandwich they are currently caught in with LFC one point ahead and United one point behind tickling their tuckus. We also see Lukaku’s former and future employer Chesea visit Goodison looking to inch closer to the title. CFC has slowly let Spurs crawl back into the race, so they can break their hearts again at the end. In the last Sunday fixture we have the possibility of pure joy. We see the possibility of killing 2 dreams with one stone. When Spurs face Arsenal only one result would do us right. A loss for Tottenham would all but end Spurs title dreams to their bitter rivals and hopefully such a result would lead to a new contract for Wenger. Sounds like a win-win to me.
Monday finishes off the GW with Watford hosting Liverpool. Should be a very predictable game. If City and United win expect LFC to do also, If either of the Manchester sides drop points expect LFC to. If there is one thing we know is that if LFC is given an opportunity, they let it slip away.
Please join us as ever to discuss the games as they happen and share your feelings, successes and woes as the action unfolds and hopefully the FPL points flood in for you.

Fixture Tracker
Which pairing would you guys rather have? The cheap midfielder will only feature during my BB in DGW37 by the way.
1) Capoue (from Watford with 2 very tough fixtures) and Vardy [+ 0.1m]
2) Carroll (from Swansea with 1 pretty good fixture) and Costa
2 for me, just due to Costa’s more favourable fixtures
Cheers, the Chelsea fixtures in the DGW are very juicy, so I might just.
1 for me as Capoue has a double and Costa may have nothing to play for and we could see Batshuayi in for one of the DGW fixtures.
Pancho, cheers, do you not feel Vardy will have nothing to play for either though?
I kind of like #1 James as I think Vardy could be a nice differential for the last few gws, even with their difficult schedule. Do you have Hazard? If so, that may make it a bit easier to go without Costa. I’m on a WC and considering the same two players in my last forward slot to go along with Kane and Jesus. Also eyeing up Capoue as an enabler with a DGW in midfield. Who else besides Capoue and Carroll should we be considering for that last midfield spot? Too bad JWP’s minutes don’t look secure now, he was looking good value for 5.0 with 2 DGWs.
I’ve got Hazard in, yes, so that’s another Vardy plus point. Chelsea will probably get cagey in these final games as they try to secure the title under pressure. Vardy, whilst playing for a mid-table team, is in some pretty good form right now and has kind fixtures on either side of the DGW too. I think you’re convincing me.
JWP’s recent absence is indeed a shame. He was missed on Saturday though! Don’t rule him out.
Albrighton’s another possibility but I doubt he’s worth 4.9m to be honest.
It’s a tough call james. Costa easily could have had a goal and an assist today, and with his easy fixtures coming up we probably wouldn’t be talking about Vardy even though he’s been on fire lately. But that 1 pointer today is ugly, and up until last gw he wasn’t doing much to justify his price tag. I’m really not sure what to do about it. I’ll probably keep playing around with things and see what happens over the week. If I really need that extra money I may go Vardy.
I was telling everyone before that 16-point game that Costa’s hearts not in it for Chelsea, not since the whole tranfer to China debacle, and I still feel that way. Costa could really burn any non-owners over those two DGW fixtures though. Tough indeeeeed.
Red and James, I like Matic. Another assist today and at only 4.9
Not a bad shout, actually I did spot him on the cheap-view list, didn’t notice his recent assisting though. Today’s was trivial; that Pedro goal was all him.
Not a bad shout Pancho, thanks. Only problem is he uses up a Chelsea spot. Pedro could be a nice, sneaky differential too now that you mention it james. I’m sure they’ll all be in a WC draft at some point this week.
50 puts this week and I’m dropping to just inside 15k. Lost 11 pets taking a hit for Siggy -> Sane…
Easy one for you all as I’m not on a WC
What to do here? Open to a -4 as I prepare for the DGW. Want Zaha and Grant out over the next 2 weeks.
Can you do cech and king?
Hey Pancho
Zaha was unlucky really. On another day, Heaton would have been sent off for his challenge on him and would have been a different gw. He might have also got a pen.
Grant to Pickford?
I was gonna suggest Zaha to King too but I think that a deeper plan — one that lays the foundations to bring Hazard in for his impending DGW — needs to be made… it’s not easy though.
I didn’t want to mention that problem! 1 week at a time James 😉
That’s how big hits happen!
he knows he’s doing a -8 or -12 😉
Hahah guys. At the moment I’m actually planning no Haz. May do Costa and Sane to Gabbi and haz, but I don’t really like it. Only other real option is Sanchez -> Haz :/
Awesome team. Hmm. You should do well. Can’t give advise. I am dead weight. 😉
Seriously, everything I did the past couple of weeks went against me. If anything, I should just copy your entire team.
Don’t be daft now Raz! Just because you can’t pick your own nose doesn’t mean you can’t pick others 😉
If I’d not asked for advice this week I’d not have had Aguero as captain now and I’d have been in a whole lot of ML shit. I got a lot of suggestions and he was who I picked but prior to asking I was thinking Gabbi. It’s all about help, suggestions, ideas and options.
Hey guys. Im considering the following wc team, would love some views, cheers. Not sure about losing Kun but if he’s injured it makes the decision easier.
Sorry guys.
Looking pretty good man u man. Benalouane and Gabriel may not be nailed though. Really like that midfield and front line.
I’d get some more players in there man u man. Like maybe 15 or so.
Lol. Cheers Red. I’d love to put 2 more dgwrs but i dont think i can manage it.
Nothing wrong with a few SGW players that have good fixtures to fill out your team. I don’t think I’ve seen any WC team so far with 15 DGW’ers in it.
Cheers bud. Really tempted to do it tonight before the prices go up.
If you’re on a WC man u man, you should definitely get any players that are rising tonight that you think you may want in your final WC team. I chop and change mine all week bringing in risers that I think I might want. Just don’t sell anyone you’ve got profit built up in that you might want back or you’ll shoot yourself in the foot!
True, the only decision I’m struggling with is wether to sell kun for Jesus or not. The extra cash makes a huge difference to the overall team quality though.
I lost .1 selling Kun for Jesus last night (if I wanted to buy Kun back that is). But I was pretty sure I couldn’t afford Kun in my final WC team so it was worth the risk to get Jesus before he went up. Jesus is great value for the money, especially with Aguero possibly injured. How much money do you have tied up in Kun?
I only stand to lose .1m but if i tried to get him back, it would screw up my whole team. I think its a risk worth taking though. Thanks for the help dude.
Would this one do for a wildcard?
Who would you bench next weekend?
I think the one below is stronger.
Or this one?
#2 looks stronger to me Raz. I was looking at Blind as well, do we think United’s defense will hold up with all the injuries and EL matches?
I like this one more…
Just because of the front 3…
The back 4 are catastrophic…
Yeah, especially if yu take into account they have hard fixtures. 😉
No room for another Spurs player? Best defence in the league and 2 of the most in form players Alli and Eriksen? Not to mention they are nailed on!
Anyone going into 36/37 without Sanchez? Is it worth the risk to not own him? Not even sure I want a defender after today to be honest, although they won’t be playing Spurs every week.
Me, myself & I …
Overall rank of the person who said this : 278,891
Pffft, rank doesn’t mean squat Doc. Anyone can have a good or a bad season. If you’re here and posting then you aren’t a casual player. I’m really liking the look of some WC drafts without Sanchez, but it feels so risky. I gambled and avoided him the last time he was heavily bought and captained and it paid off, not sure it’s wise to tempt fate again.
Was just kidding, Red…you know me …
The main reason I won’t dismantle my team to bring Alexis is that my main rival doesn’t own him…
With this said, he can be my differential but as mentioned I ll have to dismantle my team to get him in…
I don’t have a WC left…(don’t ask)…
Other reasons are his poor performances lately…his playing position (out wide) and Wenger’s new tactics lately…
All of this not going in our FFootie favour…
And yes…I prefer a better team overall with the $$ saved on him and having Walcott instead…
Who doesn’t even start… 😉
haha…
All set with your team, mate?
How many spreadsheets you have lying around ?
Would you believe me if I said none?! It’s none, honestly. This one is fairly straightforward I feel. Not exactly a lot to plan for after it anyway.
Yep, gone with Ozil. Not convinced any Arsenal player will score that well but it’s a double after all.
I need to replace out of favour Walker, who is a guranteed to start Spurs defender?
No; you need to link your team.
Why is everyone so obsessed with that?
I’ll link once I have my rank where it’s worth showing until then it’s a work in progress.
You said you were close to 10k which would be worth showing; unless you were lying?
Can’t expect people to share their thoughts with you and improve your team when you won’t even link it.
ill link my team next season I just don’t see the point when there’s only 3 weeks left…
Ok well you’ll get help and advice next season. No point giving it now with only 3 weeks left
