Pottys Predictions Gameweek 17 FPL Fantasy Premier League

pottys-bookiesPottys Punters Weekly Review

So last Saturday saw an early start in Pottys Bookie’s as Potty and two of my staff, Flingy and Bench, put the Xmas Tree up ahead of opening. It was a long drawn out affair as Flingy had a chart for ‘Baubbles to Branches’ ratio and Bench spent an hour looking up the Angel’s dress but we cracked it with 15 minutes to spare.

As Saturday’s games got under-way an incredible score from Manchester came in and City’s 6-3 demolition of Arsenal had many folk discarding their bets from the off, this was followed by a boring 0-0 from Upton Park which emptied my shop.

Sunday arrived with two punters in the hunt for the £10 Free Ladbrokes bet and as Andy and Secretzorro took their seats the action started, the 3-0 away win by Man Utd over Aston Villa was not predicted by either. After a brief cuppa they witnessed the Suarez show and a 5-0 Liverpool win meant that to decide where the bet went the Tie-breaker was called upon.
The reds First goal on 18 minute’s sent the bet flying Andy’s way.

Well done Andy and I hope you have now redeemed your winnings.

Hey guys a bit of help here. A friend is in need of some assistance, may need a 2 or 3 week transfer plan to get his money on the pitch.
    Migs/Mcgregor
    Debuchy-Jags-Coleman-Caulker-Merts
    Ramsey-Fernandinho-Hendo-Yaya-Cabaye
    JRod-Lukaku-Suarez

1.5 in the bank no free transfers left.

      Demsie says:

1.5 mil.. aint that much to be sitting on imo. Is that a mistake Mito ?

Fernandinho is unnecessary. If he was bought before the 2 goal game then fair enough but I can’t see many more of those weeks coming. I’d much prefer Mirallas at that price..

      • Demsie I think they leave too much money in the bank and on the bench weekly. My guess is Fernandinho, Hendo and possibly another were brought in this week. Even if it is not a plan for several weeks, I think a guide on what they should be trying to accomplish with his next couple of transfers would be helpful.

      inittowinit says:

I think he or she needs to turn Ramsey into Walcott and J Rod into Negredo. Can he do this by downgrading Fernandinho to Barkley or Morrison this week and then doing the other 2 gradually over the next 2 weeks?

      • They have already made 4 transfers this week. So, we need to help them not only with some planning over the next 2 or 3 GW’s but they also need a to go Cold Turkey on taking hits, because he has a severe addiction. Maybe a plan to get them to the WC.

        • inittowinit says:

His teams not bad but as I said downgrade Fern to a cheap or playing 5th mid and just tell him to stop taking hits! Not a lot we can do about that bit though. laugh

      Demsie says:

Also.. 3 week transfer plans just don’t seem to work imo.. Always end up with an injury, or someone else you’d prefer to switch..

Maybe a better manager can make them work ? I just can’t

      NIN says:

Mito – This squad actually reminds me of my own a bit, funds are too evenly spread,i’d ride it out until JanWC is available and then activate it ASAP(my plan also),in the mean time ditch Fernandihno before more managers sell him to maximize funds for the WC,in Fernandihno’s price range (7.3m or lower) there are currently 12 mid’s with more points and every one of them is cheaper so he’s a huge hole in the team.

@Kaarthik so looking at your team the first thing that stands out is Fernandinho as another member pointed out. If he was 4.5 he be great, but he is 7.3 so I would agree with InIt and say downgrade him next week for a mid in the 5.0 range or less. Perhaps a Whittingham, Ravel, Barkley, Delph type. Someone that you will sit on the bench most weeks but plays if you need him. After that then with the extra 2.3 or so added to the 1.5 in your bank you can upgrade Hendo to Walcott.
That would make your kids look like this
      Yaya- Ramsey-Theo-Cabaye- Whittingham
You could also switch Ramsey to Theo if you wish like InIt suggested and use the extra money to eventually work in other strong players.
There is a Wildcard in a couple of weeks, I believe GW 20. You need to stop taking hits and stop chasing every player who does something weekly. Fernandinho, Hendo are reactionary buys and they cost you dearly in terms of hits for very little production. Your defence is consuming too much of your money and this should be addressed with the Wildcard not through hits. Get one or two dirt cheap defenders in there that play maybe even 3. Say Gabbidon/ Chester/Ward/Turner (Cardiff)/Olsson(Norwich) are all cheap options get 2 or 3 of these guys and just rotate them based on fixtures and keep Coleman and Merts.

Stop the unnecessary hits they are costing you dearly and the best bit of advice I will give you and if you take nothing else from this is, sign up for the site get on these boards and ask for help before you do anything. The members on here will help you and stop you from making bad transfers. We are always happy to help and hope to see you posting on the boards.
