Potty’s Predictions Gameweek 21 FPL Fantasy Premier League

pottys-bookiesWelcome everyone to 2014 and the first Potty Predictions Competition of the New Year. As many of you are aware Potty’s Bookies was forced to close briefly over the festivities due to extensive flooding but as things start to dry out we are open for business again.

Great news this week – to celebrate the re-opening and to wish you a happy and hopefully successful 2014 this weeks prize has been doubled, so the winner this week walks away with a free bet of £20 to spend as they wish at Ladbrokes.

Lets crack on then as Potty and his staff have to catch up on a lot of refurbishment but the important two points this week are that we have 2 winners to announce and of course a new competition for GW21.

Potty Winners
We had 2 Winners of the free £10 Ladbrokes Bet over the Christmas period, they were –

Gwk 18 = JEET TOP 4
Gwk 19 = JOSH 721
Congratulations to both of you!

Afternoon men. Here’s a question for you.

If you were planning on holding off on your JWC until GW23 and had already shipped Walcott > Ozil this GW, with today’s team news i.e. Rooney out, RVP still out for Saturday’s teatime game up against an even more depleted Swansea than of late, do you think taking a -4 hit and shipping Rooney (SP £11.1m, CP £11.6m) for Wellbeck (2 weeks max) is an informed punt?

If I benched Rooney, I’d need to play 2 of either Gabbidon TOT(a), Whittingham WHU (h), Shelvey MUN(a) or Amalfitano SOT(a). I’m not a huge fan of hits – only 4 or 5 this season and I know the JWC is round the corner but could be an opportunity to gain rather than lose – I’m more convinced by a short-term punt on Wellbeck than the popular Spurs wagon this GW. Would be interested in thoughts in terms of:

    A. Stick and hope for the best with 11 of my 13 available above
    B. Gof or it with Welbeck
    C. Go for it with Adebayor or another alternative
    D. WC so late in the GW and forget about GW23 losing any advantage a couple of weeks and more time to plan squad might bring

A/B are clearly where I am preferring tonight.

Rest of attack would be Ozil, Oscar, Suarez and JRod. I was def going 4-3-3 this week if I had thought Rooney was going to play as I have Evra, Zab, Merts and Coleman at the back and Szczezney over Boruc this week until I can sell the former again on my JWC.

why not go for negredo instead of welbeck? wouldn’t you say he is a better attacking option for 2 weeks before bringing in kun?

      Hello matey. . .

I’m totally unconvinced on Man Utd at all right now so Welbeck I don’t think is worth a -4. I’ve plans afoot to WC and remove Rooney as part of it.

How about Alvaro for the next two (man on form)? That might be more worth a -4 in my book.

As goes your subs . . Whittingham is alright and Shelvey could see you through this wee tricky spell so hits isn’t a necessity.

Hello mate. Thanks to you and footy above for your replies. I think we are all of the same view re ManU’s toxicity right now but am just a bit tempted with the fixture this weekend guaranteed gametime at home v Swansea for Wellbeck. I love Negredo, but couldn’t cope earlier in the season with the rotation factor with Dzeko so, here’s hoping Whittingham keeps his place and I’ll toss up between Amalfitano or Shelvey in the morning I think and stick tight.
