The Pre-season Friendly Hub
Pre-season friendlies have begun. The time of year where you sit down to watch a game and then it is ruined in the second half by subs being made every two minutes of the second half. You forget who is playing where and generally drift away to write an article about it! This happened yesterday – Preston North End v Liverpool had 43 substitutions and so as my interest waned, I checked out all the Premier League teams and how their pre-season either shaped up or had begun. From a fantasy point of view, it is worth while keeping an eye on these matches regardless of how meaningless you think they are. They often throw up little nuggets of information which can help you settle your initial squad and prepare you for future transfers. Bear in mind though that it has been known for players to play all pre-season and then the search party is out for them on GW1! But it is better having pre-season information and basing your selection policy and your transfer strategies on them than going in completely blind. Here follows some information on what has already gone on. Our grand plan here is that you use this article to post as normal for now but then refer back to it as and when tou have any relevant pre-season info to add and post relevant comments to keep it updated over the next few weeks. So please take it upon yourself to add in the comments, any information from pre-season games, training or whatever… You might just be helping one fellow manager with a nugget of information but that’s what FF247 is all about.

Stoke kicked off with a decent draw against Borussia Moenchenflapjack (sic) today and will continue preparations with two more games in Germany 1860 Munich on 26th July and then Schalke 04 on 29th. They return to England to take on Burton and Blackburn in two days (2nd and 3rd August) before their ‘glamour’ home friendly on 6th August against relegated Real Betis. Strangely, they then go back to Germany to meet SC Freiburg on the 9th to cap a busy pre-season schedule.

Dos no one fancy Remy
I did originally but people on here have convinced me he’ll be rotated too much. Need to see more pre season games to make a final judgement
Way I see it Silverback is that he could do really well there, but until I see how much game-time he gets I will be avoiding as there are other strong options in the same price bracket. Have opted for Pelle just now, but trying to squeeze an extra 1m out of thin air for Dzeko (also Giroud and Bony at that price too).
tbh i dont really think he fits liverpool’s style.
He’ll probably be rotated alot and i think sturridge will be liverpools main man FOR SURE!!
I know he’s expensive but doesn’t 20+ goals in a season warrant that? :cuakoo:
Hello lads. Anyone mind rating my team?
Begovic – Krul
Rafael – Simpson (QPR) – Terry – Mariappa – Duff
Hazard – Yaya – Arnie – Punch – Albrighton
Rooney – Dzeko – Bony
0.0 itb
Got a skeptical eye towards both Terry and Rafael as I’m not certain if they’re 100% nailed on.
Really well balanced team Tekno. With you on being unsure about the defence’s starting positions, but just follow pre-season I guess.
I’m confident Terry won’t be losing his place anytime soon, Rafael however is another matter as both Smalling and Jones can be used as RB for Man Utd. That could be solved if Vermaelen goes to United as his price tag is only 5.0.
Thanks lads.
Why has Remy ownership gone up so much. People do realise that he will rotate.
Strange one. Didn’t realise Barkley was such a popular option, either.
Good GK , def a bit iffy not to bad MF great attack looks as if your pinning your hopes on YaYa & Hazard I’m not sure if YaYa will get as many points this yr don’t know what others think not bad tho
Hi Mitto / Cookie what was the winning total for the £5 league last yr & is there anything for MOM cheers
Anybody know what’s up with the sudden Myhill uptake?
Cheap. So alot of people will use as sub.
Is Foster not nailed on starter, though?
Yeah but I don’t think you’ll be able to find a starting GK for 4.0, I’ve taken Given (4.0) with De Gea (5.5) and I’ll not be looking to rotate.
Ah, just thought I’d missed a Foster injury or something. Myhill’s 3rd highest selected keeper, randoms.
