No fewer than six players have managed to clock up a suspension for the coming game-week, none more notable than Kevin Nolan, who received a straight red card for a challenge on Jordan Henderson. We rather suspect he may have fancied Christmas off having viewed how rash and unnecessary it was! However, he may not have factored in the Capital One cup match in mid-week next week as he will now only miss 2 FPL games as a result.
Plenty of players are falling foul of the ‘totting up’ rule as 5 yellow cards at this stage of the season means an automatic 1 match suspension. In these situations it may just best to bench your player for a week, if you have substitutes who can cover for you.
First up this week on the 5 yellows front is Fabien Delph who picked up his 5th yellow in the defeat at Craven Cottage. Fabien will now miss the game against Man United this weekend. James McCarthy of Everton will miss this weeks home match against Fulham, following his 5th yellow against Arsenal at the weekend. Jonathan Walters of Stoke may once again be branded a card magnet if things continue, his 5th yellow card to date sees him get the weekend off too, funny really as in the last 3 seasons his record has been great in the Premier League notching up only 11 cards for the 3 seasons combined.
Nolan aside, the other 3 mentioned are all lesser owned in terms of % and it’s more likely that you may have Yohan Cabaye in your team who will also sit out GW16 following his 5th yellow card received at Old Trafford at the weekend. Last but by no means least, Jose Manuel Flores Moreno, or Chico to you and me, will miss the trip Norwich this weekend, following his 5th yellow of the season against Hull.
It’s also worth pointing out, that yellow cards (even if you get two in a match to receive a red) can not be appealed so these suspensions will all stand.
SUSPENDED PLAYERS
Any player who picks up 5 yellow cards prior to 1st January will serve an automatic 1 match suspension. The following players all have 4 yellow cards to their name, meaning, if they collect just 1 more, they will receive an automatic 1 match suspension. Worth a quick check on the list, before you make your transfers, especially later in the season when the suspensions become 2 or 3 games.
Additions to the list below this week include goalkeeper Tim Howard which is quite worrying for many, Gareth Barry (which isn’t) and Swansea’s Ashley Williams, which may be!
PLAYERS ON 4 YELLOWS
Lovely to see the Suspension Report back! Thank you Muttster! Although, my bad that I didn’t read it and put in Morrison for a 4 point hit then he got his 5th yellow! This is why the WE ALL NEED the suspension report!
Well done guys on your fab new site – I can only imagine the work that goes into it so thank you again,
Hello stranger
Flirt.
Is that how to flirt? I’ve never been very good at it!!
Ahh so your tactics are mor sneaky!
M&B – Chloroform and a rag mate, doesn’t get much sneakier than that! Hah!
We only got him back for you Claire, his terms were not that favourable (for us), but we knew it would be the only way to tempt you onto the site!!
Hope all well!
Cheers Mutley, very handy info to have.
I’m at a bit of a loss as to whether Remy to Lukaku is a waste of a free transfer over the Xmas period. Anyone else in this boat? After much soul searching have (probably) ruled out buying Roo-dog as I need that cash for my mids.
McGregor, Vorm
Zab, Ivan, Coleman, Toure, Gabbidon
Hazard, Ramsey, Shelvey, Brady, Januzaj
Aguero, Suarez, Remy
1FT, 2.8 in the bank
Appreciate any views. Is Rooney essential? Is Lukaku? I know my mids weak but if shrek gets braces and hatricks over Xmas I might be stuffed (no pun intended)
Joe Allen – If your looking for a cheap differential you now have it. Owned by 4810 managers and priced at 4.5 mill. Guaranteed starter the next 5 gws.
Guaranteed 10-15 points over that period too I’d imagine..
..still a good shout with such low ownership though in fairness
Ritz, I am not sure Joe Allen would have himself on his fantasy team.
Well… He havent score ones since he joined Liverpool, but he is in fact taking Gerrards position in the team and he will probably be getting forward a lot. Think he would do good as a fith midfielder… Hell I think he will get a goal in that period as well 😉
It’s hardly a like for like replacement. I’d imagine Henderson will play furthest forward of our 3 mids.
Its definately not, and yes Hendo would probably play furthest forward. Im just saying that he may do well for his pricetag in this period. Hopefully Hendo will be fit to play this weekend..
Henderson is likely to be fit for Sunday, fyi
I hope you’re right, but I wont hold my breath!!
Which 2 of these 4 would you play?:
Debuchy (Southampton Home)
Turner (Swansea home)
Baker (Man U home)
Shaw (Newcastle away)
Dubuchy & Turner
