Trends From The Top Game-week 12
Welcome to this week’s edition of Trends From the Top. For this week’s publication, I join your from the lovely city of Sofia, Bulgaria where games air 7 hours later than my standard NYC match times! (Well it’s actually the same time although I am in a different time zone). It was certainly an interesting weekend as Chelsea took on its 7th loss of the season and chatter continues to focus on topics such as potential relegation, firings and signings. It is important to see how this has effected or impacted the league leaders if at all and to see what insights and trends these fantasy football gurus have in regards to such happenings. Let’s dive in a bit to take a closer look at our top 10.
Who was the most captained player by the top ten for Game-week 12?
This week, 40% of the top ten managers selected Vardy as captain (18 points), 30% Bony (2 points), 20% Ozil (16 points) and 10% Sanchez (10%). What is interesting here is the fact that 3 of the top 10 selected Bony, yet he is only owned by 6% of fantasy managers.

Who were the most popular players chosen by the top ten for Game-week 12?
Goalkeepers:
For this past gameweek 40% of the top managers selected Hart while 30% had Cech, 20% had Butland and 10% played de Gea.
Defenders:
This week we saw 16 defenders make the cut for top managers. Interestingly enough, Kolarov (50%) was the only defender with an ownership rate of 50% or higher. Smalling came in at 40% while Kompany, Clyne and Koscielny were the next most popular picks with 20% ownership followed by Moreno, van Dijk, Stones, Creswell, Azpilicueta, Dawson, Dann, Sagna, Zouma, Bertrand, and Monreal each with 10%.
Midfielders:
When you look at midfielders, the top 10 managers had 13 different picks with several getting only 10% of the vote such as Tadic, Mata and Couthino. Mahrez was the most popular pick with 100% ownership followed by Ozil at 60%, Sanchez at 50%, Payet at 40%, Yaya Toure, De Bruyne and Ayew each with 30%, and finally Mane, Wijnaldum and Barkley each with 20%.
Forwards:
This week, the front line consisted of 8 picks among the top managers which again seems to indicate that such spots are not yet solidified and/or ever evolving or changing as needed. Vardy came in with 90% while Lukaku was the next popular pick as he received 60%. Martial was selected by 40% of the top managers with Bony and Pelle receiving 30%, Kane and Ighalo receiving 20% and Gomis coming in at 10%.
In summation, the Must-Haves for top managers for game-week 12 were not many. They were Kolarov, Mahrez, Vardy, Sanchez, Lukaku and Ozil as they all had an ownership rate of 50% or higher.

Pavet injured = Heatache.
Need to find a replacement
What do people think of Payet out for Ozil? After WBA they have 3 nice fixtures, would be doubling with Sanchez but if he fails to produce he’ll be used to fund Kun if not then KdB will. Cash will be tight for Kun so thinking of doing transfer tonight.
Done that already for a -4 pts as had Bony to Lukaku when Bony went off with a hammy.Next up will be another 4 point hit with Barkley to Deulofue and Evans to Rojo and after that maybe Pelle to Tekkers depending on each ones form. Unless the break throws up more problems!!
Did exact same. Bony & now Payet out for Lukaku and Ozil. Had two FTs so no hits, next on the boot list is also Barkley tho. Reckon you had a poor week also haha
Nope 46 pts and maintained 6 out of 8 places in the classic leagues and won 3 and lost 2 in the head to head. Quite happy with that considering the score!!
Just messing around but what do you guys think of this lineup? Current TV=105.6
De Gea (Hennessey)
Kolarov / Bertrand / Monreal (Darmian / Simpson)
Sanchez / KdB / Ozil / Mahrez (Lingard)
Aguero / Vardy / Ighalo
All it takes is a -12pt hit!
???? I quite like it
Thumbs up that was meant to be. Bloody phone lol
-12pt hit it is then! Pressing CONFIRM now! Haha. Hope to be able to do it in the next few GWs though providing not too drastic price changes. But I know it never works that easy!
I would take Lukaku over Aguero for now, your gonna kick yourself if you dont
Pavet = Ozil as ft and run Sanchez and Ozil next gameweek
+1 same as! Few weeks with that pair and then Kun with Alexis money!
Thanks I’ll make transfer now
Just in, in friendly with Holland Nigel de Jong kicked out Ozil for the remainder of the season. Sorry mate. Hope you haven’t made the transfer yet. That’s what you get with early transfers though. I hate to say I told you so. ^^
Not going with my gut has seen me end up with Bony & Barkley in the last few weeks. Ozil is in for Payet and Lukaku for Bony with the captain armband. That’s going with my gut and I’ll stick by it (hopefully)! (Both FTs)
Shrugs, the real Rambo always goes with his gut. *shakes head*
You haven’t done him proud.
Fookin’ Smalling rising to £6.7 tonight (w/ nearly 30% owning him already). What is this world coming to!?! I really don’t want to be forced into buying him!! Shizer.
Pretty hefty price, eh? I’d settle for Rojo quite easily at over 1m cheaper.
+1 if Rojo is nailed on…
Yup, gonna be doubling up on De Gea and Rojo so even if Rojo is rotated for a few games, still got United CS cover.
