UEFA Champions League Fantasy Football 2019/20 Last 16 – 2nd Leg, Part 2!
Hello everyone and welcome to UEFA Champions League Fantasy Football 2019/20 Last 16 – 2nd Leg, Part 2!.
Right then, forget that Scottish nonsense, real football is back on Friday! (In fairness it’s doing a roaring trade and has attracted over 400 comments as we speak). But come on you CL’ers, time to stand up, do us proud and put that particular Scotch Egg back in its basket (and no, I don’t mean GP).
We begin again on Friday and essentially we pick up where we left off way back in March. But it’s a bit weird as we are basically half way through the 2nd part of the last 16. Four of the quarter finalists are already decided, the other four are still to be decided as those eight teams need to complete their 2nd legs of the original ties. And only then can we move on onto the rest of the tournament. And you yourselves will have been left in limbo, half-way between rounds with subs next on the agenda. Confused yet? Don’t worry, we got you..
So what do you really need to know this week…
It’s as you were…
It looks like the game is literally restarting where we left off. There are no extra transfers, no wildcard or unlimited transfers as per FPL. Essentially we were part way through a GW and so you just have to crack on as if the last 5 months never happened, which a lot of us wish hadn’t, ironically.
In theory you should find your team with points from the completed first half of the last 16, ready for you to bring in any manual subs for the final four games, a bit like this:
That’s mine, and so it looks like I’m all set to bring in a few bench players to replace my lower scorers. You should find yourselves with something similar.
The Fixtures and Subs
Which brings us on to the fixtures as these games are still split over two days, as follows:
And we can still make changes between the two, so in my example above I’ll initially be subbing in my Juve guys before Friday’s deadline and then I can bring in Gnabry on Saturday, if necessary.
Captain
Suffice to say I won’t be touching my captain but if you weren’t so lucky to have put it on the legend that is IIicic then you can move it before Friday and then again on Saturday if necessary.
Deadline(s)
The main one is the first one of course which is Friday 7th August at 8pm GMT. Which is kick off time too so you will at least have the benefit of seeing the team sheets for all of Juve, Lyon, Man City and Real Madrid. Your subs will need to be done by then.
The next one is Saturday 8th August again at 8pm.
Beyond that?
You then get unlimited transfers once again ahead of the quarter-finals, 5 for the semis and 5 for the final itself.
Those games themselves are schedulded as follows:
Quarters
12th August Atalanta v PSG
13th August RB Leipzig v Atletico Madrid
14th August Napoli / Barca v Chelsea / Bayern
15th August Real Madrid / Man City v Lyon / Juve
Semis
18th August
19th August
Final
23rd August

We have two leagues running;
Our official FF247 league code is 32NQYUI4KW
This one is the usual open air league that all and sundry are welcome to join; there are over 1000 people in it. We have no idea who most of them are!
Our other one, the ‘Regulars League’ is now only open to new entrants via email
Please email us on contact@fantasyfootball247.co.uk if you want the code.

The Top 10 as we stand…
(Apologies for it clearly being my screenshot and not a neutral one but DMC usually provides that and he had the temerity to step into the top 10 this time and therefore couldn’t provide one. I did ask Elle to do so but he sent me something akin to a screenshot of Space Invaders from his Amstrad).
Should be fairly straight-forward this week but if you have any queries just post them in the comments below and as always ask questions, post teams and generally just have a good natter…
What a grand humiliation for Barcelona at home 😯
Thankfully fans are not there……. I guess even Norwich will not concede 8.
Surprised to see Coutinho decided to play against his own club, scored a brace and probably 1 assist.
It is a good thing. The club needs a very serious shake up starting with the president. It has become a joke. Two of their most expensive signings were on the bench. Coach has to go, but no money available to buy anyone decent. The end of the Barca era.
Gotta love it, what a show! :bravo:
The bottom line is that whoever faces them in the semis, most likely Man City (hopefully) have to be at their best as Bayern are on high
I don’t see any hope for Man City………Lyon will not be easy and its City’s bogey team. City has not beaten them yet. But I assume quality of City will make them through Lyon. But Bayern is a different animal and I do not trust City defence.
This is it GM. As I said yesterday, got the feelings that they will do some silly mistake, not for a first time in a major tournament at a crucial stage. I have captain Lewa at the moment on 20 points, which is very low for his standard, and any move will be a gamble. City players share goals and it’s hard to predict who will shine on the night (if any). I have Jesus, KDB and Sterling to choose from :scratch_one-s_head:
No KDB in my team (saved him for FPL), instead Laporte I have to score from Corners if at all.
I have Laporte as well and think he could be the dark horse here. He likes UCL games.
Ivan, if you captain Laporte rather than either sitting on Lewa‘s 20 or going for one of those other three… :punish:
Init, as I am playing against myself this season (due to missing the first round deadline) I know gamble is inevitable. It will be eeny, meeny, miny, moe from those three. At the moment leaning towards Kevin but lineups might change that.
Ivan, they were not at home, all games are in Portigal.
Elle, we all go symbolic in the current climate 😉
Forgot to change my cappo.
Sterling tomorrow??
You’ll have to then. Unless you’re already sat on a good one?
Hey Initt. Have it on Neymar. Thinking to go with Jesus. He should get a goal atleast.
As a Madrid fan the last two days have been wonderful.
Barca :big-lol:
Another CL and they somehow manage to make it more embarrassing than the last two eliminations.
Still, both got further than your lot  #PSGfanboy
We could sit out the next 50 years and those two still wouldn’t equal the 13 Champions League trophies.
And man you really are salty about PSG. I don’t care about them, was just pointing out that they were easily better than Atalanta and all the underlying stats showed them considerably superior. Passing it to Neymar works, he is one of the best in the world at breaking lines and I think I saw that he tied a record for most dribbles completed.
Not sure why you are so salty about PSG. Seen you crying all day about them on here. :hippo:
Big babies will tend to dribble a lot.
I hate them. Even more than Villa #hiswirly
Where’s Den Perry gone?!
Den you should be on here, this is getting close. We need to know your thoughts. And more importantly your moves :mosking: :unknw:
Here Mr Inittocomesecond.
I’ve just finished watching the games on blind replay and am shocked by that result. All have gone the way I expected which is nice (Leipzig/Atletico was a flip for me), only one player of mine so far is out of the tournie.
I am surprised you stuck with captain Neymar, very conservative of you. You’ll be hoping for a good return from our Kev tomorrow, I wanted to fit him in but in the end punted on Philly F.
If City progress tomorrow then I likely won’t be making any major changes. I think I still have a WC left but will probably save that for the final if so.
Game on!
I didn’t. You need to press refresh :wink2:
It still shows Neymar but I’m glad to hear it.
Never mind FPL for now. Let’s see what Pep is cooking for tonight
Manchester City v Lyon
Here we go. City needs to show Bayern that they can turn it up to 11 (or 8 atleast) as well.
Cheers GP :good:
Thanks, changes done. 5 points shipped for Jesus, KDB, Sterling and Ederson. Let the goals roll…
