World Cup 3rd Group Phase Live Match Chat
Welcome to World Cup 3rd Group Phase Live Match Chat.
Forewarned is forearmed and all that….
We’ve posted this particular LMC a bit earlier than normal but that’s simply because of the points we are about to come onto really and their implications for your teams. This is where it starts to get a bit tricky as some teams have already qualified and others are still fighting tooth and nail to do so. Rest and rotation will occur naturally at this point for those who have but perhaps that may also depend on whether they are secure in 1st spot or wish to avoid a more tricky route by finishing there as opposed to 2nd. Either way it’s probably not the best round to be deploying that Bench Boost chip as getting 11 on the pitch may be hard enough, never mind 15!
For the record then here’s a quick reference guide to the situation in each group and who’s either ‘Qualified‘, have a ‘Squeaky bum time‘ ahead or are simply OUT! We won’t go into the exact scenarios in each group because quite simply they’re seemingly infinite and also mind numbing. All you need to know is whether they are through or not really. But even then it’s anybody’s guess as to what sort of team hits the field come kick off. It’ll be carnage, basically!

Russia – Qualified

Egypt – OUT!
Saudi Arabia – OUT!
GROUP B

You may need to be a touch more savvy with your planning in this round too as there are just 4 game days as opposed to the previous rounds being spread over 5 or 6 days. It means that the bench and captain switch options won’t be such a lose affair as they were previously. You can still plan out 4 viable captains and organise a decent enough bench of course. The fixtures themselves are as follows…

Saudi Arabia vs Egypt 3pm (Group A)
Uruguay vs Russia 3pm (Group A)
Spain vs Morocco 7pm (Group B)

Good luck to most of you, but not all of you for this 3rd phase of fantasy World Cup!
Evening guys. How are we all? Haven’t been about the last few days. The weather in Ireland is amazing right now so I’ve been put to work haha.
Will Dzemaili come in for Strinic since he didn’t play? Forgot to put Dze and Cout on the team. Also will Uzoho come on for Subasic?
Hi Matt. Tricky one that now! They will if you don’t change anything manually and also haven’t done so already? That means both subs AND capo. If you have then they won’t. If you haven’t then they will come in but you can’t switch the capo again.
Hey Init. Cheers for that mate. I’m pretty sure I’ve changed the capo so that’s probably screwed me there. Starting to not care about the WC fantasy to be honest. Just doesn’t have the same feel as FPL.
Probably because there’s not the usual mates / work ML perhaps? That’s what I’m missing this time. Footy lads weren’t overly arsed playing so I’m missing that element really. Think they’re getting pissed off with just losing every time now!
You’ve still got the wonder of Khazri as capo! I’m with you on that one btw. Banking on the pride of the Tunisia’s and the lack of caring / already on the party plane Panamanian’s

Finally Sane is going to meet German World Cup Squad…..unfortunately not in Russia, but at home in Germany.
Morning all, welcome to Captain Khazri day!!! Who’s with me?
Yup
I think I’ll stick with Neymar’s 5pts!!!!
ah see, he’s done you proud!!
Ranked 69… Do I keep cout captain or switch to Jrod? Are Trippier and Menieur both not playing? Got to play 1 of them at least then got cueva 3 points which i will keep. Thoughts?
Morning adam,
nice rank mate so I wouldn’t listen much to me!! However, i’d probably keep Coutinho there and play it safe. Haven’t seen any defo team news on the pair you mention, keep watching through the day and something may be leaked….
There’s talk of Bobby making 10 changes with only Courtois keeping his place.
cool….we may get a chance to see United’s new signing in the flesh
I was looking at how the draw pans out from here and finishing 2nd is quite beneficial in England’s group.
…..on paper
Yeah, but that only works when it comes from a random set of events, not when you plan for it. Mark my words, if England plays to stay in second they’ll end up losing to Colombia in the last 16.
I’m not suggesting they should go out to lose!!
Just revisited this. I thought England would be second in a 0-0 but that’s not the case as Belgium has 1 more yellow, so it’s Belgium that will need to take risks if they want to take first place. I agree with you here then, England may simply sit back and wait for the opportunities to come and if they don’t and they concede late, no biggie. It will be seen as a random set of events!
But, if they at some point are in second (by means of collecting more yellows than Belgium) and don’t try to win it than what I said is still valid.
Bottom line is, whoever sits back to protect the second spot instead of trying to win the group puts himself in a weak spot and that has its price along the line.
Love Carra 😉
