World Cup Semi Finals Live Match Chat
Welcome to World Cup Semi Finals Live Match Chat. We are down to crunch time for the four remaining teams. They say the semi-finals is the cruellest round to exit a tournament, so all four sides will be determined to reach a World Cup Final and take a step closer to the ultimate prize.
The World Cup has turned into a European Championship in effect with just France, Belgium, England and Croatia remaining.
Tuesday’s semi between France and Belgium is likely to be the more entertaining spectacle of the two matches with the likes of Griezmann, Mbappe & Pogba lining up vs Lukaku, Hazard & KDB.
This is the fifth time France have reached the semi-final stage, while Belgium have only reached this stage once before, in 1986.
Wednesday sees England appear in a World Cup semi-final for the first time since 1990. Gareth Southgate’s youthful squad is the youngest at the World Cup and while they have taken advantage of a kind draw to get to this stage, there is growing belief that 52 years of hurt may be coming to an end! This is only the third time England have reached the last four.
England’s opponents will be spot-kick champs Croatia who have come through two successive penalty shoot-outs to reach the last four. The Croats have reached the semis just once before, in 1998 and remain heavily reliant on their midfield duo of Modric and Rakitic.
From a fantasy point of view we have 5 free transfers for this round and we can now own a maximum of six players from any one team.
THE GAMES IN FULL

***NEW ARTICLE – Semi time!***
We’ll all have one by 6.59pm on Tuesday 😉
5 free transfers and 6 players per team is the highlight ahead of Tuesday. Rate my teams welcome as ever or simply just chat as usual, whatever. Who cares. COME ON ENGLAND!!!!
Hahah semi…
I’m glad someone picked up on it, this is why I’m discouraged to write the actual articles
Only 4 players to be replaced.BB available. Wild Card or not :what:
No way Ivan – keep that WC for the final and more importantly the 3rd place play off as we’ll likely see loads of changes and you’ll get the line-ups for that one pre-deadline.
Big advantage for you.
Thanks C, sound advice
Best advise you’ll get on here all week that, relevant for anyone with a WC in hand.
I hadn’t even considered that we get points for the third place match. Doesn’t that make this set of transfers that much more important because the four teams left will all play the next two rounds?
Very important Pancho, but the semi-finals are a different matchday to the 3rd place game and the final.
The 3rd place match will likely see both teams play some squad members….ie if England go out vs Croatia, I’d be surprised if Butland didn’t get a start, prob Cahill, Rose, Rashford also.
Wash your mouth out Cookie!
That’s tantamount to treason.
As if I know any Croat reserves!!
I can’t even think of the tactics for this!
Lads you’re having a great tournament
I should now point out that I have an outright bet on Croatia though, put on pre- Argentina game, at 16/1.
In four years time maybe Gareth??
Boo-hiss
Money talks mate!
FPL is live!
Not sure why I looked but its ready to go.
Salah still a midfielder too. Zaha and Arnie are forwards.
Plenty of time to look at that though…….. Come on England!!!!!
Hi Matt
Been live for days mate. Have you been drinking non-stop since the Colombia game?
Lol…….. I only just noticed! Yes ive had a few beers this past week or so mate!
Well if you can’t drink this past week, when can you?
Enjoy!
This is going to impact the start of the season. Yeah some of these are going to be rushed back.

Looks like Spurs are to be avoided early doors!
Yeah plus the new stadium think I’m going to avoid
Was going to ask if anyone can recall what happened last time but I can’t remember there ever being so many involved in the last 4 previously. Vague recollection of Ozil getting an extended break last time but there’s hardly any surprise there given as he clearly had Wenger on a string all along!
Jesus was still in nappies the last time England made the semis, there’s 20 odd players that would normally be ready for pre-season.
True that, plus they’ll still be partying in August
Vaguely remember half making GW1.
Wild card and BB still available.
Any suggestions?
Ivan, it’s tricky at this stage but the one thing that sticks out is the formation. I see all 4 teams scoring so i think I’d try and play 3-4-3 if you can. I know the midfield options are pretty thin but you may have to gamble on a couple of names…..Pogba, KDB, Fellaini, Alli, Rakitic etc…..
just my take on it mate
Thanks mate. I am keeping the WC for the next round but do you think it’s time for the BB?
no way Ivan BB with your WC next round – the rotation for the 3/4 place game will be your friend.
Cool, I will try to fit few punts with the cash I have ITB.
Cheers Cookie.
