Fantasy Football Live Match Chat Gameweek 3

Welcome to Fantasy Football Live Match Chat Gameweek 3. “It’s time to play the music, It’s time to light the lights…”. With game-weeks 1&2 done & dusted it’s time to sit down and hopefully enjoy GW3, our final game-week before the international break. Our game-week kicks off at lunchtime on Saturday as a pointless Bournemouth take on a City side who have yet to sparkle. This is followed by four 3pm kick-offs, all of which appear to be rather uninspiring. Saturday concludes with free scoring United hosting a Leicester City side who look somewhat rejuvenated this season.

At 1:30pm on Sunday Chelsea will look to build upon their win over Spurs as they face Spurs. At the same time West Brom host Stoke in what is likely to be an enthralling game!! 4pm sees Liverpool host Arsenal in a game that has a history of goals. Also at 4pm those that have sold and those have held onto Harry Kane will be biting their nails as he seeks to break his August duck as Burnley visit Wembley.

Any changes to the team below. I have 1FT and willing to take a -4 hit if justified.

Having a bad start in fpl. Only 148 pts so far.
Just need some suggestions on my team.
Do you guys reckon I should hit the WC ? I’ve 1 FT and none in the bank. Would go for some one like
Erikson or alli or maybe son in place of de bruyne if I don’ t WC

      Red Robbo says:

Having 148 pts is by no means a “bad” start. It’s an average start and bear in mind a large number above you have already used a couple of chips, so follow the Hitchhikers Guide’s advice and DON’T PANIC.

Subs need sorting at some point in the future but the core of the team is good enough – A KDB downgrade could free some dosh to look at Ince/J-Rod. You can sort your team with a hit or two so no need to wildcard IMO.

    • 166.2

I would not WC that team, what stands out to me is that KDB has not been involved in offense, maybe get Mane/Eriksen/Alli.

+1 on all that from both the Reds. Just do KDB to whoever you fancy.

How does this look for a first draft WC?

    Thanks

    RedVT says:

Hey guys, how’s it going?? Only 253 more hours of obsessively checking price changes and looking for injury news until deadline! Haha, holy crap I seriously hate the international breaks. Anybody break out their WC? It’s tempting as always but I’m holding off and saving my FT for as long as possible.

      DMC says:

Hi Red, nice to see you on the boards mate. I miss your participation and sound views on the game. I hope you have had a decent start. Not bothering too much with this IB to be fair. I had a WC-anxiety attack before gw3 but advice from Cookie and others on here calmed it down and that worked a treat. 54 very much welcomed pts. and no injuries/suspensions to deal with at the moment makes me look at this IB as a bless in fact.
We’ll be able to reassess teams and players after the transfer window closes so all’s well, bar my MLS fantasy (does that even exist?) as I missed the last two straitght deadlines and I can’t get myself to login again and see my rank.

      • RedVT says:

Hey DMC, great to see you as well! And thank you for the kind words. Yeah, it’s been all I can do these days just to keep up with the flow of information to try and keep up with the game. Been popping on here to read articles when possible, but not as much as I’d like! Glad to hear you held off on the WC and had a good week. There are a few things I’d like to switch around too but not enough to use the WC yet. Not with Sanchez and Hazard still lurking around out there ready to get involved and the transfer window not even closed! Lots can change in a couple of weeks and we don’t have enough data to go on yet.

      Calvin Clyne says:

What’s up Red? Yeah I couldn’t stand waiting any longer and went with Kane to Firmino last night ahead of the price change. Kane will now certainly get a brace or more so hang onto him this GW 😉

      • RedVT says:

Hey Calvin, how’s it going?? Haha, I looked at that same move last night- and Kane to Morata as well. Cutting him loose is just so difficult as his underlying stats are ridiculous, he’s getting chances like crazy, and Spurs’ schedule looks really decent. Firmino looks to be a great value though and he’s a BP magnet. You’ll likely get a double or even triple price-rise out of him over the break too, which is nice.

        • Calvin Clyne says:

Going well thanks mate, how’s the kid?

His stats are ridiculous indeed, but 3 blanks while others are ALREADY scoring well is too much for me to ignore.

        • RedVT says:

Yeah, I totally get it. It’s a big decision and a lot of people are selling him. Fortunately all the WC action has slowed the market down a bit and he doesn’t look like dropping tonight so I can overthink things for another 24 hours. laugh

        • RedVT says:

And your namesake Calvin is doing well, thanks for asking. He’s had a good summer- his last as an only child! smile

      • inittowinit says:

I’m sticking with Kane myself Red, for what it’s worth. I’ll likely do so all season too as long as he’s fit and available.

        • RedVT says:

Hey Init, how’s it going? I think I’m going to hold for a bit longer, too. Hate the idea of losing money on him but that really only happens if you sell. Even if he drops once or twice over the break, his price will shoot back up after his first big return. He’s a dangerous differential captain as well with most plumping for Lukaku each week. I put the armband on Kane this week and thought it was going pay off after Lukaku blew that PK! In the end, not so much. laugh

        • inittowinit says:

          Good thanks mate. Yourself?

Yeah he’s a viable captain most weeks so not having him could hurt a good few times.
