Live Match Chat Gameweek 28 FPL News

Welcome to Live Match Chat Gameweek 28 FPL News: Or at least what there is left of it! If ever there was a definition of a ‘blank’ game-week then maybe this is it. There are just 4 games this week. And just two of the current top seven feature. That’s not to say that the weekend if irrelevant of course, as the rubbish teams can still score you some points, but in all honesty if you can still get excited about this lot then we doff our caps to you as a hardcore fantasy manager. As for the action itself then there are three games at 3pm on Saturday – Bournemouth will be looking to turn their Old Trafford resilience into something more tangible, and arrest their current slide, with what would be their first victory in 2017 as they welcome West Ham. With Man Utd winning the Milk Cup last week 7th place now represents a chance to qualify for the Europa thing and the two prime candidates face off this week to see who wants it least. Actually Pulis would probably see it as a feather in his cap whereas Koeman is probably more aware of it’s pitfalls. Now we aren’t suggesting that Everton would ever throw a game… but they probably should! The third game is a relegation battle as Hull face Swansea. Defeat for Hull won’t necessarily seal their fate but it will go a long way to doing so. We close out on Sunday with just the one fixture which sees Liverpool hosting Burnley. The visitors don’t often visit anywhere well. We don’t mean that they turn up late, get drunk and are surly and rude. Quite the contrary, in fact. They turn up on time, are polite and respectful and usually bend over obligingly when asked. If the real Liverpool turn up then they may well fill their boots in this one.

Saturday 11th March
3:00pm
Bournemouth vs West Ham
Everton vs West Brom
Hull vs Swansea

Sunday 12th March
4:00pm
Liverpool vs Burnley

As an added bonus, and as the main reason why there are so few PL games this weekend, the FA Cup Quarter Finals take place this weekend and may be worth keeping an eye on as they will dictate further DGW scenarios depending on who progresses. Just so that you are aware, they look like this –

Saturday 11th March
12:15pm
Middlesbrough vs Man City

5:30pm
Arsenal vs Lincoln

Sunday 12th March
2:00pm
Spurs vs Millwall

Monday 13th March
7:45pm
Chelsea vs Man United

Can’t believe I went Fraser instead of King… SMH
Gavin Lukaku and King would have made my GW right now. Instead I’m seeing red arrows with just Mane (c) to go. Need him to destroy Burnley tomorrow!
Congrats to those who own King and Lukaku and captained one of them! Anyone have them plus Barkley?

      praveen says:

I have both of them and captained lukaku. Got lucky mate. U will also mostly get the luck some other time mate..

      • Pancho says:

Can’t believe it. Was playing the long game as I wanted to keep Fraser as my cheap fifth mid but King is only .7 more…
Would have been sitting pretty right now, excited for the bonus of a Mane captain. Instead I’m desperate for Mane to explode to save my GW…

Man i hear you. A few weeks back i sold alonso right before the 21 poimt game. I dropped god knows how many places. I was so “depressed” i wanted to quit. Today i have got kaku (c) king and barkley as you said. So dont beat yourself. It could have gone either way. Even i was going to get fraser and then i changed at the last minute. Look forward! Nezt week is another week. P.s. aftee i sold alonso i didnt get close to the site and related socials for like 72 hours. That helps

Took a 16 point hit. Coleman and king were the hits. Olsson, llorente and lanzini flopped. But then still in the positive considering the hits. Don’t know if it justified my hits or if I just got lucky. 51-16 without bps. Will probably get 11 boa. Delighted!

Nightmare gameweek. Two injuries, Snoddy not starting. Just 33 points minus 4 from 8. Terrible.

    Mane cappo and Firminho.

Afternoon lads. Pretty happy with that! Congrats to praveen and any other King punters.

I have Phillips, Sterling, Amat and Sanchez all listed as dropping tonight… shit.

Alonso and Costa soon too but, unlike the 4 above, it wouldn’t immediately decrease their sell-on values. Tempting to wildcard!

Phillips needs to go tonight I think: Alli, Hazard, Mane or somebody else in?

      Andy says:

Meh sounds like a knee jerk reaction James, by the looks of it your team doesn’t need the whole sale changes, your losing nothing on a Sterling drop, Amat’s just bench fodder and you ain’t ditching Sanchez in a WC team.

Would agree with Phillips as he does have the hamstring trouble, I’d go with either Haz (who might also drop) or Alli.

      • jamesimmo says:

Andy, hey, don’t worry: won’t be wildcarding tonight. I see you’ve been pushed into it by injuries?

I bought Sterling for 7.8m so it will affect me but, like with the others, they’ll just have to be taken on the chin. I’m hopeful that keeping Sanchez will pay off.

Alli sounds like a plan… but I seemingly always own him at the wrong time!

        • Andy says:

I think I would of jumped this week anyways mate with or without the injuries so not much has really changed, my team’s been going the wrong way as of late so theirs nothing better than a good old WC to help prevent the rot.

      • +1. You are keeping Sanchez, Sterling will do for now, Amat is bench fodder. Deal with Phillips but only after the league + cup games are done. Anything could happen and knowing this season it probably will.

i thought i had done ok this week getting 11 players then realised Baines, Snoddy, Phillips & Llorente all played half a game or less. To top it off my ML rival TC’d Lukaku and has Josh King and Mawson. Why do i do this to myself???
