Possible Manchester United Move for Jack Grealish
Possible Manchester United Move for Jack Grealish
With the football world at a standstill at the moment, it is hard to believe there are still deals going on in the background with players piquing the interest of some of the biggest clubs in the Premier League. Jack Grealish has been one to watch since he rose to his highs at Aston Villa, but some of his behaviours whilst on lockdown left much to be desired for a lot of fans.
Regardless, there have been plenty of people linking the star with Manchester United, and a move could be on the cards at some point soon. Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, the United boss, reportedly has his eyes on him, and it is easy to see why. The key things that fans are picking up on however is where he might fit into the United squad, which already has Marcus Rashford playing at Grealish’s favoured left-wing position.
Bruno Fernandes is also in the squad already, playing as the number 10 with great ease, which casts doubt on whether or not United actually need or would benefit from having Grealish in the team.
Grealish has received praise from a lot of people over the past few years, but the Aston Villa assistant, none other than John Terry, has been especially warm to the star. He has compared him to Eden Hazard and Joe Cole and even bets were placed at BetPlanet Ghana, even though the two players that he, of course, played alongside at Chelsea.
He made the comments directly to the Villa fans in an online Question and Answers session, which will obviously resonate with a lot of the supporters’ views as well. He said, “I just think the natural ability he’s got and that Joe Cole had, a God-given talent that not too many people are blessed with but has certainly got.”
These comments will surely be music to the star’s ears, and he also commented on his pace, as well as his natural ability to attract fouls in the English top-flight. He causes problems for defenders, and this is definitely something that Manchester United will be looking to capitalise on.
John Terry has spent plenty of time with Grealish, and so he knows exactly what he is capable of. Whether or not he will be able to remain in such close contact with him for much longer is uncertain, but there is no doubt that Grealish himself will have a lot of thinking to do should any offers be made.
Aston Villa is his boyhood club, and he has been there since he was just six years old. It won’t be an easy decision for him to make if United come knocking, but with the world in its current state with COVID-19, it is hard to make any predictions, never mind those regarding the future of one of the hottest names in English football.
