For the record I did produce an article last week, with 4 weeks of results and an updated league table. Sadly, it was lost in the site crash, so I’m back doing it all over again!

Just to clarify, last week is null and void as far as H&L is concerned. Apologies for those who put in predictions for the remaining fixtures, but there was many who didn’t realise the site was back up, so it’s only fair we forget it ever happened!

With 4 weeks’ worth of results to recap there’s no time for any more waffle, so let’s get straight into it, and see who the big winners were over the festive period!

GW17 – Things were nice a simple in GW17, all three of our winners correctly guessed the FGS but it was ultimately a tidy 14pt victory for No1likesus, with SomH3i taking second place with 12pts and eplnoob making up the podium in third with 10pts.

GW18 – It wasn’t so cut and dry in GW18. No correct FGS to boost the scores so the results all come from fixtures alone. It was cramped on the third-place spot on the podium with Kruzcampo, AJW, Chipster, Sarri-ball, Ivan, SomH3i, No1likesus and PM all scoring 7pts.OddDane, DMC and Gavy all share second with 7pts, and it was much the same in first, with eggwich, Shrivashsa, redmecca and Stone Frog all finishing on 9pts. However, eggwich came out victorious, their FGS prediction just 11 minutes out from the actual.

GW19 – Another nice and simple week in GW19. No FGS but just a single person on each of the podium spots. Daisy2002 took third with 12pts, Shinespark in second with 13pts, but out in front was eggwich with 14pts meaning it’s back-to-back wins for our egg loving friend.

GW20 – In game week 20 3 of our winners correctly guessed the FGS. Ivan, Padster did not, but their 12pts was still enough for third place on the podium. Mahelmy did it, but has to share the podium with sweetbluetoffee, both scoring a respectable 13pts to take second. Way out in front with 16pts though was OddDane, he takes the number one spot for the week. Excellent.

Overall League Table

THIS WEEK’S COMPETITION… scoring couldn’t be much simpler:

• Correct Score —> 3 points;
• Correct Result —> 1 point; and
• Correct First Goalscorer of the Gameweek —> 5 points.

To clarify, this is who you think will score the first goal of the entire Gameweek, not just in any given match that you choose to pick yourself!

Points above are awarded on an ‘either / or’ basis, so you’ll either score 3 points for a Correct Score or just 1 point for a Correct Result, and these are never added together for a 4-point score.

Tie-Breaker: in the event of 2+ entrants being tied as winners for the Gameweek, the overall winner of the weekly prize will be decided by a tie-breaker. In order to do this, we ask that you also post your prediction for the time at which the first goal of the Gameweek will be scored. Nearest the pin wins!

The Rules… 1 entry per person and all entries must be submitted prior to the first match of the Gameweek. Once all the matches have been played, we’ll calculate the scores, and the winner(s) will be announced in the following Gameweek’s competition article: each winner will walk away with an FF247-branded t-shirt.

• tell us who you think will be the First Goalscorer of the Gameweek; and
• follow it with your guess for the time of this first goal (to give yourself a fighting chance in a tie-breaker situation).
