Twenty-too good to be true

Welcome to FF247 Site Team GW23

Gameweek 22 saw us join many others in captaining Salah as he couldnt possibly blank a second week in a row, right?! Right?! You know, against Brentford – a team that had kept two clean sheets in the previous nine?! Well, Darwin Nuñez calmly looked after that at the bitter end and our captain came away with a measly six points from three doubled.

Step forward the gameweek rescuers – Robinson, Alisson and Alexander-Arnold. This back three – itself a rare place to get the majority of your points – contributed to 28 of the 46 picked up from the gameweek. Thank goodness for them, as it would have been Blank City otherwise.

Indeed, that trio helped us to our first green arrow since Gameweek 19 – up to a rather unremarkable 2,515,389 with 1,273 points in total. But, a green’s a green and something even more remarkable when you consider our gameweek rank was 5,101,490. Too good to be true!

Our Gameweek 22 Result

We have £0m in the bank and a whopping FOUR free transfers to use ahead of GW23. Let’s go see what was decided…

Our GW23 Transfer(s)

So, with an absolute luxury of having four transfers – only one short of the absolute maximum we could have – we collectively had a look at the squad. Having established the fact that we already had triple Liverpool, we looked for the weakness in our squad – and I’m sorry Mr Jackson… I am for real… but you now need to apologise a trillion times for the fact you have just one assist in six games. Those six games were against Everton, Fulham, Ipswich Crystal Palace, Bournemouth and Wolves – the majority of which he should be finding the back of the net against.

So out went Jackson and in his place is someone our very own Matt had put faith into – living up to his Differential King nickname – gaining rich rewards as a result. Having scored four in the past three, its Jean Philippe Mateta who got the nod. Naturally, we waited for Jackson to fall in price and Mateta to also rise – oops. And who do Palace have, by the way? Brentford… Is that two clean sheets in 10 they’ve managed now then? Fingers crossed he does better than Salah, then. Not often you can say that.

Other decisions came very easily. The question of who to captain was unanimous – it just has to be Salah at home to Ipswich. The other also went completely the same direction as everyone agreed that Munoz should play ahead of Robinson.

To confirm then we have SOLD Jackson and BOUGHT Mateta

PREDICTED LINE-UPS

Back by popular demand! Well, sort of… Drafthound have changed their line-up approach this season and what it means for us is that we are no longer able to display a live feed of it on here due to some technical difficulties. That said, what they have done looks great and is still only a click away so if you want to access those they are HERE

    Morning all!

I’ve got 1FT with 1.6 in the bank! Is it worth taking out Saliba given the flag (I won’t lose any value on him) and bring in TAA ready for the dgw?

Also wondering whether to play Rogers, Amad or Cunha.

It pains me to say, but think Iwobi could cause some damage against Man U.
Should I play him instead of Palmer or just leave as it is?
