Banterbury Leagues Round Up Gameweek 12

bant-leagueThe Banterbury H2H Leagues are now in their second season and were originally formed to give a few of us seasoned FF managers a real challenge, and what started of as one H2H league soon turned into 4 leagues, due to its popularity

Based on the English league format we now have a Premier League, Championship, League 1, & League 2 with promotion & relegation (3 up, 3 down) with a knockout Cup run every 5 gameweeks. I also added a new competition this year “The Banterbury Shield” (where the top 4 teams in each league at Christmas qualify for a 2nd half of the season Champions League type format).

At the start of this season I had so many managers wanting to enter the leagues that we had to open a Qualification League with the top 3 teams at the end of the season earning a invite into the H2H Leagues for the next season.

Premier

It was a nightmare game-week for the top 4, as they all suffered defeat. Bottom of the table  Killer Instincts pulled off the biggest shock by beating pace-setters Cookie’s Monsters 89-77, while defeats for Reubens Rioters, Where’s The Dosh? & Bocadillo Allstars have seen them all slip a couple of places to 4th, 5th& 6th. New boys to the Premier, Arsene’s Boys, move up to 2nd and reigning Champions, Park Bench Exports, now sit 3rd  and both have joined Cookie Monsters at the top, albeit with a much inferior goal difference. Eddy Hitler XI lose a tight game to Buzz’s Bomb Squad 55-54 but stay 7th and wins for Gasco’s athletic, Horse FC, I LOVES THE CAKE & Pork n Cheese United keep them all in the hunt for a Shield place come Christmas, At the bottom two of the leagues big guns are now in the drop zone – THE MUTTS NUTS hit the bottom as they lose again, their 10th defeat in 12 outings, but the bigger shock is to see last season 3rd place Kop Warriors fall into the relegation spots zone. Wins for Kojak’s Fireball & Buzz’s Bomb Squad see them move 4 points clear of the bottom 5, who if they are not careful could become involved in their own mini league for survival

Championship

The top spot in this League seems to change hands every week, This week elleffcee has the honour, with WhoIsRonaldo dropping to 4th after a 69-66 defeat to FC Tom Tomsk. James 101 falls out of a Shield place to 5th losing 85-69 to Buzzilona, Gallowgators move up to 2nd, while Real Morbid climbs  three places to 3rd after winning the derby in the Kirk household and leaving his dads team, Pathético Morbid, rock bottom. A win for Son of a Pitch sees them take 7th spot & will now see him eyeing a Shield place. Down at the bottom, The Gallant Pioneers lose again and drop back into trouble, Red Magic win but stay in the bottom 3, Mito’s Mercenaries lose 82-56 to Balotellibubbies, meaning they swap places and twitter maestro Mito is now sitting just one place above the drop,

League 1

Well what can we say about the Powerful Potty FC? Still breaking every Banterbury league record in the book with 11 wins & a draw from his 12 games, they are now  just one win from almost certainly being the first team guaranteed a spot in the Banterbury Shield in the New Year. We love Manchester remain in 2nd and in pursuit of Potty, while Monty (CazDaz) & CFC (Awesome)   swap places in 3rd & 4th. Bodene’s Army win again to stay 5th, wins also for Bradbury Park Avenue & DavesRedDevils see them move up to 6th & 7th. Elsewhere wins for Fergie’s Henchmen, Nosgoth, Slumdog Mignolet & Sporting Abeergut move them away from the danger zone. The five teams at the bottom all lost so there is no change, with poor Nifty’s Hotshots  in 19th losing 9 in a row & The Special One remain in perilous position having lost 10 out of their last 11.

League 2

Norfulk-in-chance made up for last week’s defeat to win this game-week and still holds top position, while  WhiteBoysDay lost to Wavey Squad & drop from 2nd to 5th with Wavey taking his place in 2nd. E For Idiot & CR win and they make up the top 4. Elsewhere, wins for Manlet FC & Denbow’s Degenerates move them to 6th & 7th. At the bottom, Prata manages to get off the foot for the first time this season and replacing him are destroyers, though all the bottom 5 are on 12 points so a few victories will see any of them climb into safety and away from relegation and the horror of losing their Banterbury Leagues status.

    Hello.

Do you guys think Özil -> navas & Ramsey -> Walcott sounds good?

Ramsey hasn’t done anything since I bought him (but that was only two weeks ago) and I think these sound like good moves – it’s not baca use I’m being impatient with him, I just think he might not play next week maybe.

Also I would like to keep Özil as he links up very well with Wally and therefore I see him getting quite a few assists when he and Walcott start together.

    Team is linked

    Thanks

    Fergies Henchman says:

Evening people, how are you all?

    • 45.1

Looking at a discussion on Liverpool and their non- winning ways, apparently 20 years if I am seeing correctly. How about you FH?

      Luis Suarez says:

Hi Fergie, who are you captaining this week? Oh yeah, you wouldn’t know because you haven’t been told yet ! My mistake 😉 :hippo: :finger:

      • Fergies Henchman says:

Whoever it is LS I’m sure they will continue to deliver the goods!

        • Luis Suarez says:

Have you guys thought about just having one shared account? It would save you guys a lot of time. Grandad Gallow would be the one in charge of it and you wouldn’t have to be worried about making very difficult decisions like captain choices and transfer choices because it would be a group decision 😉

        • Fergies Henchman says:

That’s very cute Suarez, perhaps we should try that next season? Who knows we might thrash you by even more points than we are already :big-lol:

        • Luis Suarez says:

I don’t mind that Fergie. I’d rather be responsible for my points at the end of the year. I don’t see the point of following instructions in a GAME when it’s meant to be for fun 😉 :hippo:

        • Fergies Henchman says:

That’s all any of you haters have to fall back on… Yawn. I am enjoying the game very much this season, 30 points a week from the captain pick is lots of fun smile

        • Luis Suarez says:

Hopefully the pact will one day learn how to make an individual decision. It could require you guys to use an extra few brain cells … hopefully that won’t affect you too much 😉 :hippo:

        • Fergies Henchman says:

Suarez Suarez Suarez…….. That’s sooooo hurtful! The Pact deserves your respect. You must respect your Superiors!!! Bad Suarez VERY VERY BAD!!!!

        • Luis Suarez says:

Superiors? Sorry I can’t have a conversation with you Fergie with your head so far up your own arse :satansmoking:

        • Fergies Henchman says:

Don’t cry now Suarez, I must be off now so I will spare you more of a thrashing, I will pop back on later to see the tips article.

        • It wouldn’t be so bad, if it was up his own arse. 😉

        • Gallowgate says:

Suarez, the table doesn’t lie, nuff said :bouncy-balls:
          11 CFC(Awesome) Special One 68 648
          12 The Reds Brendan Rodgers 62 646

          14 Balotellibubbies Jai Hiranandani 86 640
          15 Kop Warriors Ken Lyons 67 614
16 THE MUTTS NUTS XX Mutley XX 53 612

        • chopper2540 says:

So great to see so many faces. I wud say friendly but….i gues we all have our own battles! Anyone seen HAZARD tonight?

        • Gallowgate says:

It’s all in good fun Chopper smile
Tempers do seem to be getting a little the better of Suarez however, looking at the bottom of the league it’s quite understandable though :big-lol:

        • Luis Suarez says:

LMAO this is nothing, I’m just getting warmed up 😉

        • Gallowgate says:

It’s all good Suarez, we know you love us really Lol
When is your team going to warm up? Still in the starting blocks Hahaha
Come in here tomorrow, we will sort you out and help with captain pick 😉

        • Luis Suarez says:

Lol, I like giving the pact a 12 GW head start or else it would get too easy 😉 Haha, seriously though because you guys are going for the obvious captain choice it makes it much harder for me to catch up! It’ll be up to me to try and risk it some weeks and hopefully it will pay off.
Anyway, This pact business is getting boring. I miss the original pact that used to captain Luiz etc… :hippo:

        • Gallowgate says:

Aye I liked a few outside picks now and then but that died when it went from me gasco and Fergie to what we have today with the other 5 lads.
We did Zaba earlier in the season for 24 points but lately it’s just been Kun goofy Kun goofy
Can’t complain though, 4 consecutive weeks of 30+ points isn’t to be sniffed at.
I was outvoted last week, wanted Remy but the vote fortunately went to Kun, he looks nailed on again this season.
You could do worse than take a punt on Mito’s fav Benteke this week, I’ve a feeling he will get a brace.
Good luck mate it looks like you need it.
          Laters

        • Luis Suarez says:

Lol, if Aguero and Suarez keep performing then I’ll need a lot of luck ! I’m regretting doing a deal with Fergie last year lol, hopefully he will forget about it 😉 Laters.

    Happy Thanksgiving all. :finger:

    RITZ says:

Hull Citys home games so far this season:

    24.08 Hull v Norwich 1-0
    14.09 Hull v Cardiff 1-1
    28.09 Hull v West Ham 1-0
    05.10 Hull v Aston Villa 0-0
    02.11 Hull v Sunderland 1-0
    23.11 Hull v Crystal Palace 0-1

They have only conceded two goals in six games. That is pretty good even though they have not met a top 10 side yet. Think I`m going to captain Aguero over Suarez this week.

      inittowinit says:

Haha I honestly thought you were going to say you would captain Figueroa then RITZ!!

    • 47.2
      RITZ says:

lol 😛 maybe I should get him my team.. hmmm

    • 47.3
      Bonza says:

Hmm…not sure how much you should read into those stats mate. You are not exactly talking about the league’s big guns when it comes to scoring goals…In fact if you were participating in a pub quiz and the question that came up was: “which 6 teams have the worst away goal-scoring record in the Premier League?”, the correct answer would not be too far away from your list. Not saying Kun is a bad choice as captain though, far from it!

      • chopper2540 says:

I agree to a certain extent Bonanza. However Ive bn looking at those stats and looking at where suarez is gaining points. TBF both are a good shout and you can make arguments for both. I think Hull have looked pretty solid at home despite playing against weaker opposition. Id have though at least 1 of them wouldve got more than 2 goals though. Im backing aguero personally

    JEET TOP 4 says:

Well I can drink vodka and smoke If I wanted to but can you read mate I said am not a Liverpool fan
    My mistake
Liverpool haven’t won a premier league trophy in 20 years WOW !!!!
