Banterbury Leagues Round-up Gameweek 20 FPL Fantasy Premier League

bant-leagueHello again from Banterbury HQ , I trust you all had a fab New Year. It’s been a busy time here at HQ with the continuation of the leagues, the 4th round of the Cup and the up and coming start of the Shield.

Banterbury Leagues

Premier
Cookie’s Monsters recorded his 16th win of the campaign, beating Where’s The Dosh? to stay top – The Dosh, who qualified for the Shield, has lost his last two and are 12pts behind Cookie now and have fallen to 6th place.  Arsene’s Boys & Bench also win to keep the pressure on Cookie and stay 2nd and 3rd respectively, while  Bocadillo Allstars win in the both Cup and the League and are 4th , holding a 5 point lead over 5th Pork n Cheese United. Reubens Rioters, Gasco’s athletic & Horse FC all move up a place to 7th, 8th & 9th dropping PUT THE OLD DOG DOWN to 10th & Eddy to 11th. Sitting 12th are Killer Instincts who were sitting bottom with just a point after 10 game-weeks – this should give Mutts some encouragement , though I hope it does not start for Mutts in the next game-week as we meet and could really dent my title hopes. Mutts lost again and has decided to activate his January wildcard – as a seasoned fantasy football veteran, i fully expect him to bounce back in the 2nd half of the season. Prutsers; allemaal sit 2nd bottom and are dropping like a lead balloon, having lost their last 4. TheKopKnightRISES move up a place to 18th after beating Kojak’s Fireball who drop to 17th, Kop Warriors & UD Stoke need to watch their backs as both are only a point above the dropzone.

Championship
Moving into the Championship and despite Gallow going for the treble, he slipped to defeat this game-week and drops to 2nd, with james101 taking over at the top. One Under Parr move 3rd and one of our other resident geordie’s, Shylass @ the finish move to 4th with his 4th straight win. Dropping to 5th are WhoIsRonaldo, while staying 6th & 7th are Son of a Pitch & elleffcee after both winning. In 8th is my top tip for the top 3 come the end of the season, namely Mito’s Mercenaries, who have now won 7 of their last 8 – though I was i little worried to hear he had no idea who Bob Paisley OBE was!! Down at the bottom where things are getting very tight, with bottom club Pathético Morbid and 13th placed Glebe Farm Rovers separated by just 5 points , after a big win for  Pathético Morbid over The Reds 17th and must feel they are now back in the dog fight for survival.

League 1
The Top 4 stay the same though they all swap places. CFC(Awesome) drop to 2nd with Monty (Caz Daz) hitting top spot – up to 3rd are Deano’s DavesRedDevils and dropping to 4th we have we love manchester . Powerful Potty Fc are 5th and have lost 8 in a row in a startling run of form – he now only sits 1 point above the chasing pack that includes  Ajax Trees, Fergie’s Henchmen & BRYAN MUNICH FC. The bottom 4 all stay the same despite 3 of the bottom 4 winning, and a massive shout-out to  Nifty’s Hotshots who had lost 16 on the trot – he recorded a much needed win over Fergie’s Henchmen but stays bottom.

League 2
4th Place Trophy remain top and are now 6 points above ChorleyRocks who move 2nd after beating previously 2nd place White Boys Day, who drop to 3rd. In 4th stay Norfulk-in-chance , but the battle is hotting up in mid-table, with 4th place and 13th place separated by just 3pts. Prata has risen from bottom to 9th. At the basement, destroyers & Bryan Munich remain the bottom two and are six points adrift of 18th, while a win for Wanderers1869 sees them close the gap with those above them. 15th to 18th are separated by just a single point.

Who should I’ve buy got £10m to spend on midfielder

    My midfield is

    YYT – Hazard – Whittingham – Januzaj – Walcott **

Think I’ve make go for OZIL what do u guys think ?

      Raziel says:

Ozil. I came 0.2m short to get Ozil so I couldn’t afford him. Which is shite. I went with Gerrard which is also a save option.

    Raziel says:

Why is everyone so hung on Eriksen? Dude was a so-so player in Holland only Ajax fans praised the shit out of him. He managed to get his fair share of assist/goals in Holland but only because the defense here is shite. Funny how hard people want to believe in certain players. If you want anyone go with Bony. He’s slowly beginning to get used to the EPL. When in form he’s a beast and in my opinion better than Lukaku.

    Tekno-kun says:

So with Walcott out we are all wondering who to bring in…
It might help to take a look at this list then, showing the points-per-minute of the top 8 ranked mids this season plus Silva and Eriksen:

    Hazard: 0.075711
    Yaya: 0.070796
    Ramsey: 0.075737
    Özil: 0.072796
    Lallana: 0.058044
    Oscar: 0.074228
    Cabaye: 0.060422
    Gerrard: 0.059315
    Silva: 0.076158
    Eriksen: 0.055979

Interesting… it’s very close between most of them.
Silva has the highest ppm, followed by Ramsey, Hazard, Oscar, Özil and Yaya. Gerrard has a surprisingly low ppm compared to the other players, and Eriksen’s is the lowest.

For those wondering, Walcott’s ppm was 0.083720
    Hope this was helpful.

      Raziel says:

Walcott’s pms was 0.083720? How is this relevant? 😛

Anyway, it shows form more than anything Tekno. If you look behind the scores you’d notice Hazard started the season off very poorly and probably ended it like Wally is now. Consistent players on there are Silva, Oscar and Yaya. Gerrard has a rather low score but he didn’t do anything in the first 8 games, so all the points he has is from the last few games. Just saying, it is helpful but looking at form is also very relevant.

      • Tekno-kun says:

Spot on Raz, stats never show the whole picture. If you look at Gerrard’s ppm from GW 11 and out it’s 0.080952. It might have been a better idea to just look at the last 5-6 matches instead of the whole season…

        • Raziel says:

Where do you get those stats from anyway? So many FPL sites, I’m totally lost. On that note ”totalfpl” is a website. Totally awesome. >.<

        • Tekno-kun says:

          Raz
I calculated each players ppm on my own, getting their total points and total minutes played from the official FPL site.

        • Raziel says:

          Oww shite. You’re not a grammar nazi, you’re a math nazi. 😛

Well done though. The world needs people like you. People that do math that is, not the nazi’s. >.< Sighs.

    JEET TOP 4 says:

Guys thinking of taking of punt on Hooper in Game Week 22

    Norwich (H) v Hull
    Norwich (H) v Newcastle

And then transfer him out for some like j.rod what do u guys worth the punt ?

    Raziel says:

Hey guys. Question before I go to bed. What you think of Arsenal’s chances now Wally will be out for the remainder of the season? I think their CL season will end soon. For me he was also their differential player in the EPL, long term they needed him. Fear the EPL will now go to money city or the Russian syndicate Chelsea.

      Mitro says:

We still have quality!! Reckon cazorla will starting getting more points seems to be getting back to form

      • Raziel says:

He’ll get more points but he’ll be nowhere near his total from last season. Wasn’t he set piece taker past season? I think Ozil will take most of the shine away from him.

    • 59.2

im gonna agree with you there raziel.

breaks my heart to say it as i love arsenal and hate chelsea (and hate how city got where they are today) but i think one of those two will lift the trophy.

really thought this would be arsenal’s year until now.

      • Mitro says:

Have a bit of faith!! He’s only been back for the past 9 games 3 of which were as a sub!!

We are at the top because of the team

        • Raziel says:

Mainly because City and Chelsea were absolute shite at the start of the season I think? Chelsea hasn’t come close to their potential and once they have reinforcements I don’t see what Arsenal has on them. Same for City, with Kompany returning if Yaya/Silva/Kun stay fit I don’t see Arsenal end on top. Anything can happen, but the real champion is still crowned in the second part of the season. I think Wally is/was key for CL and the important games against the bigger teams in the EPL.

        • he carried the team i his last starts and i honestly think they’ll miss him.
there is still a chance though a i hope that arsenal do win the league – i’d love that to happen!

      • Raziel says:

Arsenal had a great attack (with Wally as differential, especially against the bigger teams). Now they just have a mediocre defense (in my opinion), great midfield and so so striker in Giroud. They’re gonna buy another striker but don’t see how this person could make up for the Wally loss.

    Mitro says:

What a waste of my WC. Somehow my midfield and forward is exactly the same as it was two weeks ago lol!!

Oh well!! Anyone thinking Ozil as captain this week??
