Hello again from Banterbury HQ , I trust you all had a fab New Year. It’s been a busy time here at HQ with the continuation of the leagues, the 4th round of the Cup and the up and coming start of the Shield.
Banterbury Leagues
Premier
Cookie’s Monsters recorded his 16th win of the campaign, beating Where’s The Dosh? to stay top – The Dosh, who qualified for the Shield, has lost his last two and are 12pts behind Cookie now and have fallen to 6th place. Arsene’s Boys & Bench also win to keep the pressure on Cookie and stay 2nd and 3rd respectively, while Bocadillo Allstars win in the both Cup and the League and are 4th , holding a 5 point lead over 5th Pork n Cheese United. Reubens Rioters, Gasco’s athletic & Horse FC all move up a place to 7th, 8th & 9th dropping PUT THE OLD DOG DOWN to 10th & Eddy to 11th. Sitting 12th are Killer Instincts who were sitting bottom with just a point after 10 game-weeks – this should give Mutts some encouragement , though I hope it does not start for Mutts in the next game-week as we meet and could really dent my title hopes. Mutts lost again and has decided to activate his January wildcard – as a seasoned fantasy football veteran, i fully expect him to bounce back in the 2nd half of the season. Prutsers; allemaal sit 2nd bottom and are dropping like a lead balloon, having lost their last 4. TheKopKnightRISES move up a place to 18th after beating Kojak’s Fireball who drop to 17th, Kop Warriors & UD Stoke need to watch their backs as both are only a point above the dropzone.

Championship
Moving into the Championship and despite Gallow going for the treble, he slipped to defeat this game-week and drops to 2nd, with james101 taking over at the top. One Under Parr move 3rd and one of our other resident geordie’s, Shylass @ the finish move to 4th with his 4th straight win. Dropping to 5th are WhoIsRonaldo, while staying 6th & 7th are Son of a Pitch & elleffcee after both winning. In 8th is my top tip for the top 3 come the end of the season, namely Mito’s Mercenaries, who have now won 7 of their last 8 – though I was i little worried to hear he had no idea who Bob Paisley OBE was!! Down at the bottom where things are getting very tight, with bottom club Pathético Morbid and 13th placed Glebe Farm Rovers separated by just 5 points , after a big win for Pathético Morbid over The Reds 17th and must feel they are now back in the dog fight for survival.

League 1
The Top 4 stay the same though they all swap places. CFC(Awesome) drop to 2nd with Monty (Caz Daz) hitting top spot – up to 3rd are Deano’s DavesRedDevils and dropping to 4th we have we love manchester . Powerful Potty Fc are 5th and have lost 8 in a row in a startling run of form – he now only sits 1 point above the chasing pack that includes Ajax Trees, Fergie’s Henchmen & BRYAN MUNICH FC. The bottom 4 all stay the same despite 3 of the bottom 4 winning, and a massive shout-out to Nifty’s Hotshots who had lost 16 on the trot – he recorded a much needed win over Fergie’s Henchmen but stays bottom.

League 2
4th Place Trophy remain top and are now 6 points above ChorleyRocks who move 2nd after beating previously 2nd place White Boys Day, who drop to 3rd. In 4th stay Norfulk-in-chance , but the battle is hotting up in mid-table, with 4th place and 13th place separated by just 3pts. Prata has risen from bottom to 9th. At the basement, destroyers & Bryan Munich remain the bottom two and are six points adrift of 18th, while a win for Wanderers1869 sees them close the gap with those above them. 15th to 18th are separated by just a single point.

current mid: yaya,silva,sterling,bannan,WALCOTT
walcott to…
1 oscar
2 gerrard
3 lallana
4 erilsen
5 theo to hazard and (distin to alcarez)-4
6 theo to lallana and sterling to erksen -4
which do u guys think is the best move? i personally prefer 1 because i have no chelsea cover but i am not confident they will score many past hull at home so should i go with a temp mid for 2 weeks, thing is i want oscar in my wc team but his prices is gonna be flying , what should i do ?
Oscar, as you got sterling
Yeah, Oscar is a bargain right now
this is absolutely terrible news.
i think the worst part of this, isnt that he wont play in my fantasy team this week, it’s that he’ll miss the world cup. England are screwed
i am truly gutted about all this and hope against hope that walcott will be back for the wold cup.
i feel so very sorry for him, i can put it into words.
my favorite player, and imho, England’s best player (yes, i think hes better than Rooney) is out.
I think the only possible good news is hat he’ll get to spend some extra time with his family and new child.
now we need ox to come back to even have a chance in the world cup.
England wont have a chance now in the group of death.
utterly, utterly gutted. :'( D:
Engand are screwed with or without Wally. But I’ll def. miss the guy.
Won’t his price be frozen?
dont know, and dont really care to be honest.
just fell terrible for him and England – for me this isnt about price drop/rises or that stuff.
sigh. Was gonna be my cappo this week too…
The prices will still go down when flagged but need to get to 200%
BillisBob, I couldn’t have out it better myself, +10000
I’ve seen some disgusting Spurs fans on twitter tonight
weren’t the coins enough?
[sigh] some people really get too into hating a team – as a villa fan i found it hard not root for Birmingham in the league cup 2 seasons ago.
i was born in london though, and arsanal are my second favorite team if not my joint first, so i really am sad for both the club and the country.
It really is awful. He was my captain too, now there’s only really one choice.. and eugh, my team looks so much less sexy without Walcott in it! Even with Eriksen say in his place, bluergh, this is killing me…
((like how me and chopper both used 4 zeros btw aha))
That’s the only vaguely amusing thing about this right now.
yeah i have to say that is pretty funny!
and i agree – team instant looked better when i bout him a few gws ago!
i think ill get Gerard – for him. To be honest though i really dont want to make the transfer – but i know i have to.
i might get cazorla as he’s a bit of a differential at the moment and cant miss out on those arsanal fixtures. could get cabaye or lannalla instead…
sigh. still wont distract me though – really down about this…
Yeah, GW 21 is going to be the first gameweek where I don’t have any attacking Arsenal coverage, and given their current fixtures, that is ridiculous, frankly.
Gerrard is a consistent performer, good shout, I just favoured Eriksen due to form and lack of recent injury.
yeah a very good differencial at this time and has looked great under sherwoood.
in a few of my wildcard drafts at the moment.
Jimboimmo, f**king typical yids, don’t you call us names or we will bubble you to anyone who will listen, but we will extract the urine out of anyone we want, hypocritical yids. :finger:
Too much truth in one sentence there elleffcee, spot on, despicable
+10000 I miss him….. seriously gutted for the poor lad. My first 2 names on england shirts 2006-Walcott and Lennon as I thought we cud blitz the def with their pace.
no faster players in the league other than probably navas. i think the ox is up there too though… too bad he’s sill out!
the great thing about walcott is he has great pace and can finish really well whereas i dont really value Lennon as a finisher.
much rather him in our wc squad than townsend though – he’s less than average imo.
Walcott to Eriksen DONE
Hi Jamesimmo, reasons?
He smithy, well firstly, Walcott has broken my heart. Eriksen due to his fixture: I favour his chances of scoring at home, and have Liverpool coverage in Suarez, so opted against Gerrard. Also, Eriksen is rising tonight and has played well recently, whereas Gerrard is still finding his feet back from injury. What are your plans?
Well I’ve been thinking of Oscar or Gerrard. My midfield is Silva, Walcott, Sterling, Barkley, Hazard.
You have a good point with Eriksen. I’m going to WC when Aguero returns so maybe Eriksen is a good short term option?
Well long term, I’d say Oscar or Gerard like you were considering, but for the reasons above (concerning Gerrard) and the fact Oscar plays Hull away (could be tough) I think Eriksen could be a great short term option yeah : )
Would really appreciate any suggestions!
Current attacking lineup is
Hazard, Yaya, Walcott, Sterling, Januzaj
Rooney, Suarez, Lukaku
2FT, 0.8 in the bank
Should I bring in
a) Ozil for Walcott
b) Lallana and eriksen for Walcott and Sterling/Januzaj
c) Any other suggestions??
Thanks!
a) . Or Silva.
Sad new on Wally, but from a purely FPL view point it kind of spices things up since he would have been one of the locked-on players in every team. More differential opportunity.
Talking of differentials, what are opinions on having Oscar over Hazard. Rotation risk obviously, but he only needs half a game to light it up.
And who would people go between Barkley and Januzaj? Or an alternative at that price.
i honestly think oscar wont be rotated much at all imo – maybe come off the bench every 5 or 6 games? i think hes a starter otherwise.
i have oscar and im proud of it – great differential and gets more points than hazard when the two play together most of the time.
and barkley imo – nailed on again i think.
A: Özil, Adebayor, Krul and Shaw.
B: Eriksen, Podolski/Giroud, Szczesny and Ivanovic.
Which one?
