Banterbury Leagues Round-up Gameweek 20 FPL Fantasy Premier League

bant-leagueHello again from Banterbury HQ , I trust you all had a fab New Year. It’s been a busy time here at HQ with the continuation of the leagues, the 4th round of the Cup and the up and coming start of the Shield.

Banterbury Leagues

Premier
Cookie’s Monsters recorded his 16th win of the campaign, beating Where’s The Dosh? to stay top – The Dosh, who qualified for the Shield, has lost his last two and are 12pts behind Cookie now and have fallen to 6th place.  Arsene’s Boys & Bench also win to keep the pressure on Cookie and stay 2nd and 3rd respectively, while  Bocadillo Allstars win in the both Cup and the League and are 4th , holding a 5 point lead over 5th Pork n Cheese United. Reubens Rioters, Gasco’s athletic & Horse FC all move up a place to 7th, 8th & 9th dropping PUT THE OLD DOG DOWN to 10th & Eddy to 11th. Sitting 12th are Killer Instincts who were sitting bottom with just a point after 10 game-weeks – this should give Mutts some encouragement , though I hope it does not start for Mutts in the next game-week as we meet and could really dent my title hopes. Mutts lost again and has decided to activate his January wildcard – as a seasoned fantasy football veteran, i fully expect him to bounce back in the 2nd half of the season. Prutsers; allemaal sit 2nd bottom and are dropping like a lead balloon, having lost their last 4. TheKopKnightRISES move up a place to 18th after beating Kojak’s Fireball who drop to 17th, Kop Warriors & UD Stoke need to watch their backs as both are only a point above the dropzone.

Championship
Moving into the Championship and despite Gallow going for the treble, he slipped to defeat this game-week and drops to 2nd, with james101 taking over at the top. One Under Parr move 3rd and one of our other resident geordie’s, Shylass @ the finish move to 4th with his 4th straight win. Dropping to 5th are WhoIsRonaldo, while staying 6th & 7th are Son of a Pitch & elleffcee after both winning. In 8th is my top tip for the top 3 come the end of the season, namely Mito’s Mercenaries, who have now won 7 of their last 8 – though I was i little worried to hear he had no idea who Bob Paisley OBE was!! Down at the bottom where things are getting very tight, with bottom club Pathético Morbid and 13th placed Glebe Farm Rovers separated by just 5 points , after a big win for  Pathético Morbid over The Reds 17th and must feel they are now back in the dog fight for survival.

League 1
The Top 4 stay the same though they all swap places. CFC(Awesome) drop to 2nd with Monty (Caz Daz) hitting top spot – up to 3rd are Deano’s DavesRedDevils and dropping to 4th we have we love manchester . Powerful Potty Fc are 5th and have lost 8 in a row in a startling run of form – he now only sits 1 point above the chasing pack that includes  Ajax Trees, Fergie’s Henchmen & BRYAN MUNICH FC. The bottom 4 all stay the same despite 3 of the bottom 4 winning, and a massive shout-out to  Nifty’s Hotshots who had lost 16 on the trot – he recorded a much needed win over Fergie’s Henchmen but stays bottom.

League 2
4th Place Trophy remain top and are now 6 points above ChorleyRocks who move 2nd after beating previously 2nd place White Boys Day, who drop to 3rd. In 4th stay Norfulk-in-chance , but the battle is hotting up in mid-table, with 4th place and 13th place separated by just 3pts. Prata has risen from bottom to 9th. At the basement, destroyers & Bryan Munich remain the bottom two and are six points adrift of 18th, while a win for Wanderers1869 sees them close the gap with those above them. 15th to 18th are separated by just a single point.

    Hi folks
What do folks think of this set-up:
    Mannone;McGregor
    Ward; Bardsley; Chester; Williamson; Olsson
    Oscar; Silva; Oezil; Lallana; Eriksen
    Aguero; Rodriguez; Suarez

    (£0.3 in bank)

Aguero benched this weekend and play 5 mids?

    jamesimmo says:

Looks like Oscar’s gone from a overlooked differential to a mainstream mid in the blink of an eye, or in this unfortunate case, the rupture of a ligament sad

Just read somewhere that Walcott will miss rest of season and the WC… Guess that means 0zil returns for me but what a loss for English football

    Hi everyone,

    Current squad:

    Szczesny, Krul
Distin, Dawson, Gabbidon, Chester, Martin Olsson
Whittingham, Hazard, Lallana, Yaya Toure, Walcott
    Suarez, Remy, Lukaku

I’m looking to get rid of Walcott thanks to today’s news – currently looking at Eriksen (home to Palace) or Ozil (away at Villa). I was unfortunate enough to watch Villa v Sheffield Utd in the weekend and so I’m trying to be level headed and not biased in going for Ozil as Villa are rubbish at the mo. Not a happy Villa fan!

    Cheers guys!

Sorry, forgot to say – your thoughts would be much appreciated!

      • another villa fan? great!

i think, as a suporter too, that we are terrible at the moment.
i’ve always thought benteke was pretty rubbish and lucky last season. I nicknamed him bentheskey. slow and looks just like him! difference is that teckkers can finish when he’s in form.

labert got what he wanted in the fa cup eh… sad

so i’d get rid of one of your keepers – 2 premiums is a bit overkill imo.

im tipping cazorla as you may have seen so yeah.

        other than that good team.

        • theswirly says:

Billisbob – good to meet a Villa fan on here!

The Sheffield United match was dismal – they should have beaten us 3-1, to be honest. Benteke didn’t look like he could be bothered. In fact, only Albrighton shone on the pitch and he’d been forgotten about! Clark and Bacuna were an absolute joke – our defence simply isn’t good enough. Not even Guzan could have stopped those shots having been left so open to attack. Really hope Lerner dips into his pockets and gets us some real Premier League quality…. I’m not holding my breath!

        • i know!

look back a few years – like 3 or something – and our team is almost unrecognizable!
full of proven players and a solid defence – the exact oposite of now!

i think lambert said he was going to buy some experienced people in jan which should be good… depending on who that is!

i do like our style of play right now, but i just wish labert would buy some big name players rather than unknown players from other leages!

lowton and benteke (last season at least) were good buys and i like kozak but bacuna and pretty much all the rest are absolute rubbish!

i like luna, but lowton doesnt deserve to be dropped to the bench! imo, one of our best players!

agbonlahor is a hero to us though isnt he? smile

        • theswirly says:

Agbonlahor has been an absolute legend. Could really tell he wasn’t playing on Saturday, to be honest. Yeah, I rate Lowton too (still got memories of that screamer against Stoke last season) – I’ve heard rumours he wants to hand in a transfer request if he doesn’t start getting proper game time; feels disenchanted with Lambert.

It was very interesting to hear Lambert talk about experience after our win against Sunderland – I thought it was the case that he wanted young lads to bring up in the team. I really hope experience does come in, in January – someone like Heitinga or Lescott in defence would be great. The latter is a Villa fan, too!

        • yeah Lescott would be great!

we also need someone in mid too i think – someone like milner or barry.

          go figures.

        • theswirly says:

I’d happily have Milner or Barry back. De Bruyne, Scott Sinclair or even Zaha (all on loan, I’d imagine) would also be cool.

Swirls, looking at the next 4 fixtures i’d go ozil. :red-flag:
