Barry and Paul’s Predictions GW12
Welcome to Barry and Paul’s Predictions GW12. We are sure you all remember the infamous Potty’s Predictions. Well, it’s back, sort of! Same skin, new hosts. Think Countdown and Carol Vorderman. And Rachel Riley. Did we lose you for a minute there?! Get your minds back out of the gutter and back on the Chuckle Brothers. That ought to do it. So, who the heck are Barry and Paul we hear you ask? It’s simply what we affectionately refer to regular site writers Matt and Rosco as behind the scenes. And so it was only fitting that the hapless duo combined to fill the sizeable shoes of Potty to bring you the new weekly Predictions Comp. There will be prizes too. Each weekly winner will be the proud recipient of an FF247 t-shirt. So without further ado, here’s from us to them, to explain more…
Hello and welcome folks!
We’ll dive straight into the scoring and rules for the competition which could not be simpler!
Each week, we’ll add the fixtures for the upcoming Game week to the end of our article. Simply cut and paste the fixtures into a comment box, add your predicted scores for each match, and tell us who you think
will score the first goal of the game week. You’ll then score points for every correct prediction
you make, the scoring will be as follows:
Correct Score = 3pts
Correct Result = 1 pt
Correct First Goalscorer = 5pts
The rules are few; 1 entry per person, and all entries must be submitted prior to the first game
of the game week. Once all games have been played, we’ll count up the scores and the winner(s)
will be announced in the following weeks competition article.
Here are the fixtures, best of luck to you all!
Arsenal v Tottenham
Bournemouth v Huddersfield
Burnley v Swansea
Crystal Palace v Everton
Leicester v Man City
Liverpool v Southampton
West Brom v Chelsea
Man United v Newcastle
Watford v West Ham

Joking aside, a massive thanks to Matt and Rosco for taking this on and looking after it. It’s an article we owe to Potty and will always dedicate to him but it needed fresh blood to resurrect it and the lads have embraced it and made it their own this week. It’s enduringly popular, as has been proved this week by people who we haven’t seen for ages suddenly posting answers. A big thank you to all who have. It will be here every week from now on, so please remember to come back, partake and support it.
And a final thank you to Swirly and his Quack creative gang for sorting out the actual feature picture for the article. That is top drawer mate, hats off.
Beautiful words mate.
Cheers Init, glad to be a part of something with such a legacy!
We’ll do our upmost to do Potty proud, his boots are too big to fill for us two nuggets, but we’ll be sure to continue to give everyone plenty of ammunition with our abject stupidity!
Thank you to everyone for embracing the comp, looking forward to finding out who our first winner is….not so much to counting up the many entries!
Good luck all, may the green arrow gods smile upon you!
Did offer my help when it looked like it was building up a bit. Glad it was rejected out of hand now looking at the final numbers :satansmoking: 😎
Rosco, take a bow mate. What you and Matt are doing is absolutely brilliant here. I’m sure the FF247 towers are also to be thanked for, for backing this up, but now that it is on and live we can only thank you guys for this. You will probably find that some gws are not as participated as others but the simple fact that you had over 60 entries after let’s say 1 year of the predictions article absence is really telling and surely something you can take heart from in those less participated gws. Anyway, what I mean is, thank you for going on board with it and count me in!
Did I mention I need a new (and bigger) t-shirt?

Hey guys, how’s it going? Haven’t had time to post in yonks but wanted to say hello and wish everyone luck this weekend while I had a moment. Great to see Rosco and Matty reviving Potty’s Picks, a staple around here for many years. Well done, fellas!

Nice to hear from you Red.
Apart from being busy (that’s life these days huh?), how are things stateside?
Team set for this weekend?
Hey Gallant, great to see you as well. Things are going OK for the most part up here in the northeast. My wife is due on Nov. 28 (*gulp*) so that’s been our main focus of late. My FPL team has suffered a bit as I’m not able to put in the time that I’d like reading articles and keeping up with the minutiae, but I’m still hanging in there.
How are things with you? Your team going OK so far? Not sure if I ever mentioned it before but our neighbor is from Scotland and moved here for work years ago. She’s a hoot and we totally love her and her partner, they have a boy my 1st son’s age. Her mom visits from Scotland every summer and they are really great people. I’ll have to find out exactly where they are from.
Best of luck this weekend, hope you smash it!
Yeah life gets in the way of FPL some tines right?
The countdown to a baby I remember as being very annoying. You’re all set but you never know when it’s coming exactly. Like sitting at home all day waiting for a delivery.
Things are going well thank you mate.
Yeah find out where they are from. It probably won’t be that far because our place isn’t that big!
Haha, yes that’s exactly it. The nursery is all set and we’ve got our ‘go’ bags packed, just waiting for Mother Nature now. I imagine I’ll have more time to be online during my paternity leave, it’ll just be at strange hours in the middle of the night!
Cheers Red! Nice to see you pop up! Hope you’ll get a chance to be on more over the holidays!
Not sure on how Potty is doing but he’s been on Twitter quite a bit so hopefully he’s ok!
Morning all.
So who else is up with weekend hyper children?
To keep me sane, talk to me about my final (or latest) wildcard attempt.
Up since 6:20. Awake since 5!!
I’m on six hours and feel exhausted!
How are you both? I don’t really know what to do with my team – they all have tricky fixtures and Jones is out.
Has Davies lost his place?
Tired!
I don’t think anyone could say with any confidence that Davies has lost his place however he’s certainly open to a lot of rotation.
Cheers Kop!
Not sure about Kenny. Although I suppose he’s your 5th defender, is £4.3m and is currently getting a game.
Given Bournemouth’s fixtures I get the Wilson pick but they do have 4 strikers to pick from.
Cheers Kop
Yeah Kenny enables and is playing. Like what I’ve seen of him from England.
I’m between Wilson and Abraham for that final spot. Reading that Howe complimented Wilson after the Newcastle game where he got 75 mins and two decent chances.
Three of Bournemouth’s next for are at home against fair opposition so it’s a calculated risk. But I realise it is a bit risky because of the competition. Be surprised if he gets four lots of 90 but I was hoping for good minutes in most.
Not a straightforward choice. Abraham appears to be a guaranteed starter but Seansea’s form isn’t great. Not that Bournemouth’s is either
Yeah i know
