Barry and Paul’s Predictions GW13
Welcome to Barry and Paul’s Predictions GW13. I’ll admit we were feeling a little apprehensive ahead of launching our very first predictions competition last week. Potty’s substantially proportioned footwear are indeed too big to fill; more like clown shoes on myself and my fellow Chuckle Brother’s average sized feet, which is perhaps quite fitting. Thankfully you all embraced the competition, 52 entries was more than we could have hoped for, we even received predictions from the man himself, a real honour, thanks Potty.
LAST WEEKS WINNER!
Bigpopz was the big winner in GW12! Popz finished on 13pts, enough to see off second placed runners up DMC and Jamie MC on 12 pts each, better luck next time guys! Many congratulations Bigpopz, please contact FF247 at contact@fantasyfootball247.co.uk to arrange delivery of your FF247 t-shirt.
Predictably there were a few teething problems. Behind the scenes there was almost a ‘Mugabe style’ coup, questions were raised with regard to the scoring system, for a moment it looked as if things could get messy. Thankfully everything was resolved without incident, but to quell any further unrest allow us to clarify the scoring:
Correct Score = 3 points
Correct result = 1 point
Points are awarded on an ‘either or’ basis, so you’ll either score 3 points or 1 point for a correct prediction, these are never added together for a 4 point score.
In summary:
Correct Score = 3pts
Correct Result = 1 pt
Correct First Game-week Goalscorer = 5pts
The rules are few; 1 entry per person, and all entries must be submitted prior to the first game
of the game-week. Which this week is a Friday. Once all the games have been played, we’ll count up the scores and the winner(s) will be announced in the following weeks competition article.
So just to recap all you need to do is copy and paste the fixtures from below, pop your score prediction on each and then tell us who you think will be the first goal scorer of the week. And that can be from any game regardless of your other predictions.
Here are the fixtures, best of luck to you all!
Friday 24th November
West Ham v Leicester
Saturday 25th November
Crystal Palace v Stoke
Man United v Brighton
Newcastle v Watford
Swansea v Bournemouth
Tottenham v West Brom
Liverpool v Chelsea
Sunday 26th November
Southampton v Everton
Burnley V Arsenal
Huddersfield v Man City

Ignore question mark
Hey Matt, just a small doubt. The first priority is given to the score and not the result, am i right? Means, if i have two correct scores, I’d get 6 points and not 2/4?
Not at all Constantine. The confusion here may lie in correct score –
Using Sam’s example of Crystal Palace 2-1 Stoke. That is the correct score (and result) meaning 3pts.
If he had predicted Palace 2-0 Stoke, he’d have scored 1pt for the correct result.
If he had predicted Palace 1-2 Stoke he would have scored zero because the correct he predicted Stoke would win. Which they didn’t.
The correct score in the match was 2-1, NOT 1-2.
Thanks Cookie. I got it it now. Atleast we can get the results correct, if not the scores. Cheers
One more doubt mate, regarding the comments. How can I get the notification for the replies on my comments to my registered email ID? I’m not able to find it somehow.
Hi constant, that particular option disappeared ages ago when we last did a major update. Given that nobody actually noticed or said anything, until yourself just now, we assumed it wasn’t being used and hence didn’t bother adding it back in. I certainly never used it. If we get a raft of people saying ‘hey, where has X function gone?’, such as the comment numbers or the page numbers at the top, then that’s a big flag that it is essential. Nobody said a dicky bird about the notification thing. I’m inclined to leave it off unless people say otherwise?
Hi Initt..Thanks for the reply mate. Yes, i thought the same. We used to have that option before. Frankly, even I had never used it ever before and thought of using the same today. Reason being that many a times we have simultaneous comments going on two or three pages and might miss out on some. Anyways, it was just a query and no major concern. Cheers mate
Hey Constant. I have had that argument and was overruled we are going with that Cookie explains.
Cheers Matt. It’s clear now
Cool mate.
