Team Talk Fantasy Football Game-week 5

Team Talk Fantasy Football GW5 The season has just started rolling, some teams are finding good form and the transfer window has just closed… and then… BAM! An international break to ruin it all.Well thank goodness that is behind us. The first international break always seems like the longest, doesn’t it? How did you manage the time? Did your Fantasy MLS team keep you occupied? Did your fantasy Tippeligaen team keep you warm on those cold nights? Or maybe you passed the time preparing for your Fantasy NFL draft? Many of us found shelter in the warm confines of Potty’s Bookies who, against all odds, found a way to make the international friendlies interesting. It was during this time off that we thought we might have a different go at Team Talk this week. Fixture history and trends will sti...[Read More]

Team Talk Fantasy Football Game-week 4

Team Talk Fantasy Football GW4 Three weeks in and we can start to see how some teams will shake out this season. Some teams have started hot while the performances of some suggest they might not know the season has actually begun. Reinforcements have started to gel (or not) with their new teammates. Some managers have shown us their preferred starting XI. We’ve seen a number of GW1 big hitter differentials flame out and a few who have suggested they can contribute on a weekly basis. Rosters will be finalized in a matter of days. Take in as much football as you can this weekend, lads – a needless international break looms on the horizon once GW4 is in the books. For those of you who have held onto your wildcard, will you play it once the transfer deadline passes? Have you jumped on th...[Read More]

Team Talk Fantasy Football Game-week 3

Team Talk Fantasy Football GW3 Some are flying high, some are struggling to find the meaning of life after two strange gameweeks – however with 36 weeks left in the season, it’s not time to panic – it’s those with a clear head, strong plans and just a touch of luck that will escape from the abyss unscathed! One good gameweek gets you right back up the rankings. Many have wildcarded, others have attempted to hit their way out of trouble, the lucky ones are well set and selected Kompany, Mahrez, Yaya and errrr Kone from the off. Gamweweek 3 starts Saturday lunchtime, no Friday evening fun this week, though it is United that kick us off again as they welcome the Toon to Old Trafford. We then enjoy five 3pm matches as Lord Pardew hosts the Gilet Genius, the Foxes chase ...[Read More]

Team Talk Fantasy Football Game-week 2

Team Talk Fantasy Football GW2 Well that was an interesting week. The average score was 34 and we honestly wonder where all those people are. Regulars were rested and backups were started. Leicester and Palace looked like fantasy juggernauts, each placing two players in the GW1 Dream Team. The cadre of unusual scorers and new players will undoubtedly lead to panicked wildcards being played this week. We hope you’re able to keep your powder dry for now but understand if you’ve played it already – we’ve all been there! The highest score of the week was a chap that put up 109 points. How? By playing his triple captain chip and then placing the captain’s armband on none other than the Yaya sisterhood Toure. Now that’s a punt that paid off. If you managed a decent week, then fair play to you an...[Read More]

Team Talk Fantasy Football Game-week 1

Team Talk Fantasy Football Game-week 1 Well, here we are. After weeks, seems like months, of watching the price lists develop and then tinkering a million times with our squads, we are just hours away from the deadline bell. Over the last two days all the pressers have been held, the managers have spoken, some more revealing more than others and it really is the last chance saloon time to be tinkering away, finding that elusive 4mln defender, checking rotation, choosing your captain and pressing the confirm button for the final time before kick off! Before we get into the previews, may we just welcome LawDogg onto TeamTalk – he and Cookie will jointly present the article to you – Lawdogg writing the game intros and Cookie hurtling round the pressers, reporting what exactly the ...[Read More]

Team Talk Fantasy Football Gameweek 38

Team Talk Fantasy Football Gameweek 38 The last TeamTalk of the season, a truly sad day (he joked). There is no rhyme this week and the reason for that is thus – I have joked at the expense of many this season with the Goonies and Scousers and Pardew of course, copping most of the stick. Deserved? Harsh? Whatever your view, I thought this week, the last week of the season, we should end on a positive note, being nice to all – yep even the Goonies and the Scousers. After all, I did my best Jeremy Clarkson impression last week and faced an FF247 disciplinary meeting after my twitter session last Saturday morning. Apparently I upset a few Scousers. I didn’t really understand the issue, I do it every week anyway, but I have been banned from the FF247 twitter handle until Augu...[Read More]

Team Talk Fantasy Football Gameweek 33

Team Talk Fantasy Football Gameweek 33 Just seven matches this week. It could be quite a bore. Fear not, we’ll have our pleasure. In Gameweek 34. No Sunderland or Gooners. And the Scousers too we’ll miss. I’ll need to find new victims. Of which to take the piss. Pulis returns to Palace. After another embarrassing loss. While Palace now are Lording it. With Pardew as the boss. And then we’re off to Goodison. As Burnley are in town. A failure to win or even score. Will mean they’re closer to going down. The Foxes are firing it up. And this week the Swans arrive. With Vardy and Cambiasso flying. My cash is on them to survive. Stoke vs the Saints will likely be tight. A polite way of saying it’s a bore. With Stoke firing blanks. And Saints struggling to scor...[Read More]

Team Talk Fantasy Football Gameweek 32

Team Talk Fantasy Football GW32 Welcome we say to 32. You can’t come quick enough. For 31 was bad for me. Frankly, I’ve had enough. “That’s not the spirit”, I hear you say. “Come on Cookie, get with the ticket”. “Bore off” my reply began. “Just bring on the T20 cricket”. Our week starts down in the Valleys. As the Toffees travel to Wales. Both clubs in decent form. But let’s not get caught up in details. Saturday 3pm sees five matches. Most of which are pretty dull. It won’t surprise you to hear. That the first one involves Hull. They visit Southampton, birthplace of Benny Hill. For a proper proper test. Hoping that N’Doye and Diame. Are the fastest milkmen in the west. Sherwood takes his Villains. To the t...[Read More]
