Fantasy Football Fixtures Gameweek 11 The main question surrounding GW10 was how many goals Chelsea and in particular Diego Costa could plunder against QPR. Well the answer was a rather disappointing two for Chelsea and none for Costa. GW10 instead proved to be the week of Alexis Sanchez again, as was GW9. The Chileans price tag of £10.6m certainly tests many fantasy manager’s ability to balance their squads but sometimes you do just get what you pay for (are you listening Diego) and with seven goals and two assists he is becoming hard to ignore. Amazingly he was actually outscored this week by Calum Chambers as the young full-back grabbed himself a goal, an assist, a clean sheet and all thre bonus points. At £4.8m you don’t get much better value for money than that! Arsenal do...[Read More]
Fantasy Football Fixtures Gameweek 10 – Fantasy Premier League 2014 Well for most of us GW9 wasn’t much fun was it? The Costa will he, won’t he fun carried on right up until the last minute. The answer in the end was he wouldn’t but let’s face it even his likely replacements such as Aguero barely did much better than the man himself in his absence. Charlie Austin stuck his oar in for consideration this evening with a brace but we would stay away from him for now as we will explain later. The one real shining light, for the 13% odd that owned him anyway, and one to consider if you don’t, was Alexis Sanchez who was gifted a couple of goals by a beleaguered Sunderland defence. So let’s put GW9 behind us and see if we can identify the Sanchez of GW10 a...[Read More]
Fantasy Football Fixtures Gameweek 9 – Fantasy Premier League 2014 We’ve had a few drab game-weeks recently but GW8 bucked the trend for sure! Whilst Aguero and his four goal haul made an early dash for ‘story of the week’ he was soon eclipsed by Southampton and their amazing 8-0 drubbing of a Sunderland sides sorry excuse for a PL team. Names like Pelle and Tadic will be on the lips of every fantasy manager this week to accompany those uttering Aguero. Or more likely ‘Aguerooooooo’, for those that had him. Or ‘oh craaaaaapppp’, for those that didn’t! It’s all very well and good to go chasing ‘lost’ points but before you jump in on the latest good news stories it may be wise to check whether the aforementioned players ...[Read More]
Fantasy Football Fixtures Gameweek 8 – Fantasy Premier League 2014 As football fans we suppose we should embrace international football and be engrossed and we don’t know about you but in all honesty it’s becoming a bit of a needless bore in many cases. Let’s help ease those woes as we take a look ahead at who has good fixtures in the next few weeks and who may struggle…
Fantasy Football Fixtures Gameweek 7 – Fantasy Premier League 2014 Well that was a strangely quiet week wasn’t it. Man Utd just about got over the line despite Rooney’s moment of madness, Costa grabbed yet another goal but didn’t quite hit the heights many had hoped for and the two big derbies petered out into fairly drab 1 -1 stalemates. Rooney’s lunacy and yet another Ramsey injury have caused a few problems for many a fantasy manager this week. If you are among those that are unlucky enough to own one of those, or indeed the pair, then we sympathise with your plight and you have some tough decisions to make for replacements. Let’s help ease those woes as we take a look ahead at who has good fixtures in the next few weeks and who may struggle…
Fantasy Football Fixtures Gameweek 6 – Fantasy Premier League 2014 Your weekly ‘Fixtures’ article is having an overhaul! Nothing drastic but we feel that it may be easier and more pertinent to concentrate on the next three fixtures of each team rather than spread it too thinly over six fixtures. Time moves so quickly in fantasy terms and a hot property now may be a dead duck come five weeks time so we are going to keep it tighter, which may hopefully be of more use to you. We will still display the next six fixtures for each team in the fixture tracker graphic but in our analysis we will look at the next three as a priority for the time being .
Fantasy Football Fixtures Gameweek 5 – Fantasy Premier League 2014 One man grabbed all the headlines on Saturday with a stunning hat-trick to stake his claim as the number one ‘must-have’ fantasy pick this season. Deigo Costa racked up a whopping 17 points. If you captained him then even better and well done but that number was down a bit due to his ‘will he, won’t he play?’ status. On Sunday, the stage was left free for the new look Man United team to remind us that they were back and that they possibly have a few fantasy gems to be reckoned with once more. Lets take a look at the fixtures ahead for the next six weeks and see whether any of these or indeed others are worthy of your attention and look at who to perhaps avoid for a while.
Fantasy Football Fixtures Gameweek 4 – Fantasy Premier League 2014 Aaaaand breathe out….. FPL returns this coming weekend after being rudely interrupted so early on in proceedings by the international break just so that we could be reminded that the future of English football is about as bleak and bland as the past was. Anyway don’t get us started on that little lot as it’s time to re-focus on the main attraction as we take a look at the fixtures for Gameweek 4 and beyond and we analyse which teams have a decent run ahead of them as well as pointing out those that you may want to give a wide berth to for the time being.
Fantasy Football Fixtures Gameweek 2 Welcome to GW2 Fixtures. This is our guide to help you navigate the next few weeks with a view to analysing which teams have potentially the best run of games and which teams may have a tough ride ahead of them. Game-week 1 saw a few of the usual suspects such as Ramsey, Rooney and Sturridge all hit the target and we saw a few surprise contenders emerge in the shape of Berahino and Sigurdsson. Sigurdsson was perhaps less of a surprise but with his opening fixture being away at Old Trafford he did break a few fantasy manager’s hearts as many bought him with the schedule ahead in mind but benched him this week. If you had him and played him though, well done! Chelsea opened up with an old fantasy favourite in Cesc Fabregas rewarding his owners with ...[Read More]
Fantasy Football Fixtures Gameweek 1 Welcome back to the first of our regular season-long articles. The aim of this one every week is to present to you the teams that we feel have both the best and worst run of fixtures ahead of them so that you can plan your team, squad and transfers accordingly. Before we continue it is worth noting that since the FPL was relaunched a few weeks back we have had all manor of articles, almost daily, addressing many key issues ahead of the season so it is worth checking back over them all, although we make no apologies if it is overwhelming as the amount of info, stats, charts and advice may be enough to make the average fantasy manager burst at the seams…
Rotation analysis – Home and Away rotation and favourable fixtures It is a bit tricky to write anything that does not account for all of the variables in terms of knowing what signings might still be made and how a team will gel with those new players. However we will try and point out where fixtures and good rotation of home and away might favour you. Through the coming weeks we will post articles that will try and help you navigate through the tough terrain of choosing a side. This includes having our very own team that will try and use all the information possible to build a highly competitive squad. For the most part we will only cover until game-week 20 in this article since after the start of said fixtures the winter wildcard can be activated. Hopefully we can cover a good deal...[Read More]
Fantasy FPL Fixtures – the first 6 weeks Welcome back! The good people at FPL towers teased us a little yesterday by releasing a player list and they did not disappoint by then launching the game we love in it’s entirety a few hours later. And so we have about a month to pick, re-pick, swear, curse and laugh at our at our teams until the deadline. Having seen many a gallant attempt at a feasible team yesterday we felt that the main thing missing, and the one thing that would be of the most immediate help to managers, was a quick fixtures overview for the first few weeks. As ever we are happy to oblige and so here is how the land lies for the initial 6 GW’s and our take on who has a favorable start and who may find life rough to begin with…
