FPL Live Match Chat Gameweek 19 Welcome to FPL Live Match Chat Gameweek 19 Maybe…. We trust you all had a great Christmas Day and wake up fresh as a daisy on Boxing Day for our usual Live Match Chat. If you overslept then there’s a fair to middling chance that Salah has already either destroyed Leeds and got you 40 points, blanked again and got you 2 or had his game cancelled and is in bed with Covid. Wolves and Watford happens / happened at the same time of 12:30pm. Yeah ok, scrap all that…. Either way there are another 5 4 games at 3pm before Villa and Chelsea have a go at a game at 5:30pm and Brighton and Brentford do likewise at 8pm. Maybe…. Newcastle and Manchester United stand alone on the 27th at 8pm before we begin again the day after with an 11am deadline. Maybe&...[Read More]
FPL Live Match Chat Gameweek 18 Welcome to FPL Live Match Chat Gameweek 18 There may be some games to chat about… We are at the time of writing down to just the five four fixtures. By the time this hits the airwaves then… who knows! In theory there are were two games on Saturday with Villa and Burnley kicking us off on their lonesome at 3pm before Leeds and Arsenal ‘completed’ the day at 5.30pm. Now it’s just the latter. Sunday looks relatively crowded then with three games! Two at 2pm with Newcastle having the unenviable task of trying to restrict Man City as well as Wolves and Chelsea competing to see who can miss the most chances in a game. Our rather curtailed GW comes to an end at 4.30pm as Spurs welcome Liverpool.* *delete as applicable There is then a bit of respite with a break unt...[Read More]
FPL Live Match Chat Gameweek 17 Welcome to FPL Live Match Chat Gameweek 17 It’s a quick turnaround this week with a midweek fixture fest to get us right in the mood for Christmas and the chaos ahead. This one spans three days from Tuesday to Thursday and then we begin again on Saturday. Tuesday itself sees three games, all spread out slightly. with Brentford welcoming Ralf and his new spangled clean sheets at 7.30pm, Villa going to Norwich at 7-47pm before Pep and Bielsa have their usual cuddle at 8. Wednesday looks relatively uninteresting, if we are being brutally honest, with Brighton v Wolves, Burnley v Watford and Palace v Saints all at 7.30pm. Just say you are washing your hair or something instead. Arsenal v West Ham should be a bit more lively at 8pm. It’d have to try h...[Read More]
FPL Live Match Chat Gameweek 16 Welcome to FPL Live Match Chat Gameweek 16 And then there were 9… It’s not the first time and it almost certainly won’t be the last but at least we had some advance notice and so we could all react accordingly, rather than simply being left to check if you got that bench order correct. We wish those Spurs boys the best and a full recovery. As for who is left we begin on Friday with the solitary game which is Watford making the short trip to Brentford. Man City and Wolves get us going on Saturday in the early game before Arsenal welcome Saints, Chelsea and Leeds revive the 70’s and Stevie G slips into Anfield, all at 3pm. Norwich and Man United see Saturday out in the late one. West Ham go to Burnley and Leicester welcome Newcastle at ...[Read More]
FPL Live Match Chat Gameweek 15 Welcome to FPL Live Match Chat Gameweek 15 If rotation didn’t bite you too hard in midweek then it may do this weekend, but as we mentioned in the GW14 edition of this particular article, which nobody ever bothers to read anyway (if you do, say ‘xG is King’ in the comments), this is just a taster of what is to come in the weeks ahead. And perhaps a little reminder of why having a squad as fat as your turkey may be wise over Christmas. We have 5 games on Saturday and West Ham welcome Chelsea in the early one at 12.30pm. At 3pm Burnley go to Newcastle to see how the other half live (same as them as it turns out), Saints and Brighton have a bit of a derby, and Wolves try to keep the score down against Liverpool. Watford then try (lol) to outsc...[Read More]
FPL Live Match Chat Gameweek 14 Welcome to FPL Live Match Chat Gameweek 14 With deadlines between GW’s almost running into each other this somewhat randomly placed and sprawling midweek fixture list always feels like it is simply placed here as a training vehicle ahead of what is about to come over Christmas. With GW13 having only finished late on Sunday evening we are back at it already on Tuesday and this one goes through to Thursday night and then GW15 kicks off on Saturday. It’s a 2-6-2 split with Wednesday doing the heavy carrying. Just the two on Tuesday then and we begin with a relegation 6-pointer as the worlds richest club (Newcastle) go head to head with the world yo-yo champions (Norwich) at 7.30pm. If that one hasn’t put you to sleep then Amazon are obviously ...[Read More]
Fantasy Football Live Match Chat Gameweek 13 Welcome to FPL Live Match Chat Gameweek 13 It is another condensed GW this time around, beginning on Saturday at 12.30pm and finishing up on Sunday at around 6pm. We do however have a nice even split between the two days with five games on each. The early game on Saturday sees Newcastle going down to Arsenal and this is followed by three at 3pm with Palace welcoming Villa, Liverpool welcome their feeder club Southampton and Wolves go to Norwich. Brighton and Leeds see us out on Saturday at 5.30pm. Sunday begins at 2pm with four games running concurrently as Brentford welcome Everton, Spurs go to Burnley, Leicester host Watford and West Ham have the joys of a trip to Man City. We end at 4.30pm with a baptism of fire for Ralf as he takes his new t...[Read More]
FPL Live Match Chat Gameweek 12 Welcome to FPL Live Match Chat Gameweek 12 Ten games this week, squeezed into an unusually thin two days. In fact, eight of them are on Saturday… We begin with the Ranieri derby, sans Claudio, as Leicester host Chelsea at 12.30pm. As if by way of an apology / olive branch Jeff and co. then get a bumper six games to peruse over at 3pm. Albeit all the crap ones. Villa host Brighton, Palace go to Burnley, Newcastle welcome Brentford, Saints travel along the coast to Norwich (sort of…), Claudio himself welcomes Ole and West Ham go up to Wolves. Liverpool and Arsenal see us out in the 5.30pm game at Anfield. Just the two left on Sunday and we begin with Rafa trying to thwart Pep at 2pm. That is to say trying to restrict them to just 4 or 5 goals. And then, almost...[Read More]
FPL Live Match Chat Gameweek 11 Sky are having a ‘mare… We begin with an early deadline this week as Villa go to Saints in what can only be described as an odd choice by Sky to bother pulling it forward to Friday night and then actually screening it. Saturday kicks off with the game that should be on at 4.30pm on Sunday (the Manchester v Salford derby). We often mention Jeff Stelling on here when it comes to the Saturday 3pm games and with good reason because he is a legendary presenter and his show has been one of the best inventions since the PL (football) began. He has also been poorly treated by Sky since this whole pandemic thing began. Initially shorn of any games to actually present they then decided to strip him of all his ‘mates’. The very people who made t...[Read More]
Fantasy Football Live Match Chat Gameweek 10 Welcome to FPL Live Match Chat Gameweek 10 We have a bit of a strange GW on our hands here as there are a lot of games that either look very predictable in their outcome or you simply look at and go… ‘meh’. Leicester and Arsenal set us on our way on Saturday lunchtime and if we tell you that this looks like one of the more enticing games then you’ll know what is to come. If nothing else our old mate Jeff @ Sky will be cock-a-hoop to see no less than 5 games in his slot at 3pm on Saturday. Two games could be close, but ultimately also dire affairs, in Burnley v Brentord and Watford v Saints with the other three looking fairly one sided for Man City (v Palace), Liverpool (v Brighton) and Chelsea (v Newcastle). The main ente...[Read More]
FPL Live Match Chat Gameweek 9 Welcome to FPL Live Match Chat Gameweek 9 Just as Gameweek 8 is escorted politely off the premises, we have a quick five minute tea break and welcome Gameweek 9. It’s coming at us like a train as well and it begins with another (brilliant!) Friday night deadline. We kick off at the Emirates as Arsenal welcome Aston Villa in what will be the Gunners second match within 95 hours. Saturday lunchtime’s offering is Chelsea v Norwich City at SW6 and fear not about captaining Romelu Lukaku as this is not (technically) the early kick off, well it is an early kick off. You get the point. That and the fact that Salah blew that daft theory to pieces in Gameweek 8. Saturday then continues at 3pm with matches at Crystal Palace – who welcome Newcastle, Ev...[Read More]
FPL Live Match Chat Gameweek 8 FPL Live Match Chat Gameweek 8 We have a bumper Saturday for a change with no less than 7 games to digest. We imagine the majority will be hoping that (Captain) Salah doesn’t put an early dampner on their gameweek in his lunchtime visit to Watford. At 3pm we have a Villa v Wolves derby, Man U going to Leicester for a 4th place play-off, Man City’s bi-annual hammering of Burnley, Brighton hoping to see Norwich off to the Championship, with Saints and Leeds completing the set. Saturday night (ish) should then be fun as Brentford and Chelsea slug it out at 5.30pm. Sunday may be a bit short on games but they promise to be interesting ones if nothing else. The Moyes derby is at 2pm as Everton welcome West Ham. All eyes will then be on the richest club ...[Read More]
