Fantasy Football FF247 Team Gameweek 22 Wow. It’s tough at the top! Despite registering a respectable 69 (-4) and outscoring the average by 13 points we still managed to slip back 332 places overall to find ourselves in 1,976th. We blame Hazard. And Sanchez. Although we owned both. More on those two scampsters later. We very nearly wildcarded last week and it was a close call but instead chose to wait and took a small gamble on a hit to get Kane and Hazard. Kane delivered for us but it was Hazard that hurt most which is quite ironic as the reason we took the hit was in fear of Hazard hurting us massively if we didn’t have him and he went off on one. As he can do. So despite having some decent scorers in our midst this week it does go to show what a difference nailing your capt...[Read More]
Fantasy Football FF247 Team Gameweek 21 Last year was good to us and then this new year started. Perhaps our site team decision makers partied a little bit too hard welcoming 2015 or they just simply had an off day. It was not a pretty sight as 7 of our 11 starters managed 2 points or less. But if we needed any more rubbing it in on how bad the week was we had George Boyd staring from our bench…oh the shame! 42 points was the average for the week and we only secured 36 so it was a quiet day in the FF247 offices. We dropped 662 places and now sit in 1644th place in the overall. With two straight GWs in the 30’s and GW ranks in those said weeks being over 2 million, there was noise of the wildcard coming to the forefront to repair some of the damage. But cooler heads prevailed an...[Read More]
Fantasy Football FF247 Team Gameweek 19 All 10 fixtures in one day is the way we like it. With such a quick turnaround, there is no time to mope around and contemplate destroying your team because a Frenchman decided to stick his head somewhere other than between a woman’s legs. It was a high scoring game-week for many and the FF247 site team was not about to be left out in the cold. So let’s get around the grounds and see what our starting 11 produced. In goal we had trusty Joe Hart. His hands are the best around, we particularly like it when he goes out to punch a ball, sooooo secure in the air. :whatever: Transitioning over to our defence we put the microscope on our SUPER HIGH priced jewel Leighton Baines. Frankly the only thing we can say about our relationship with him is...[Read More]
Fantasy Football FF247 Team Gameweek 15 It’s a happy and chipper FF247 camp that brings you this week’s Team review and plans for the future as we had a great GW14. We scored 82pts in total (net 78 with the 4pt hit), which produced another set of green arrows for the team, while our two transfers, Alexis Sanchez and Stewart Downing, paid immediately for the hit. We massively beat the average score of 49pts and, like many did this week, we got our captain correct! It really was another Sergio Aguero masterclass which made our week as his two goals, assist and maximum bonus points in City’s 4-1 win at Sunderland returned 32pts. Who needs Diego Costa eh?! Well we do this week, but we’ll come to that later. The midweek gameweek had a good feel from the beginning as clea...[Read More]
Fantasy Football FF247 Team Gameweek 7 GW6 turned out pretty well in the end as we recorded an above average score of 52pts. Like many teams, our star-studded midfield were useless – Sterling, Di Maria, Fabregas and Sigurdsson provided just 9pts between them – it was certainly one of those strange FPL weeks! Captain Costa did his thing, ably supported by Aguero – both notching a goal, while keeper Mannone and defenders Wilson and Taylor all recorded clean sheets. We weren’t alone in being let down by the Southampton defence – that was our home banker for a clean sheet!! So, all in all, very satisfying – we have moved up to position 15,793 which puts us in the top 0.5% in the world.
Fantasy Football FF247 Team Gameweek 6 GW5 was a bit mixed for us to say the least! Your captain often makes or breaks a game-week for you. For whatever reason, we can’t remember why, we went for Diego Costa and he duly delivered a grand total of 2 points! Evidently we weren’t alone in that respect so all was not lost. Stand out performances, from an FPL point of view, from Angel Di Maria, Raheem Sterling and Danny Welbeck meant that we finished on a respectable, if somewhat uninspiring, 46 points. Our defence was awful with just five points between the sorry lot. ‘I am’ Vito Mannone got double that on his own. We’ve got Mannone. Guess where he was? Yep! We finished the week with an overall rank of 43,265. It’s not ground breaking by any means but at thi...[Read More]
