Fantasy Football 247 Site Team – Gameweek 8
We all dream of a team of Ollie Watkins’, a team of Ollie Watkins’, a team of Ollie Watkins’ …..
Welcome to FF247 Site Team – Gameweek 8
Guess who our star man was this week! Not that useless Norwegian lump, nor yesterday’s man Mbeumo, James Maddison or anything dressed in a Manchester United clown suit.
Sir Oliver of Watkinsbrough. We love you. X
63 points overall with 23 (TWENTY THREE) from Aston Villa striker Watkins, including his second hat trick of the season, as he carried our attacking department. His nearest ‘challenger’ – Jarrod Bowen – was way back on 9 thanks to his goal against Sheffield United.
For Watkins in attack, read Trippier in defence i.e. doing ALL the heavy lifting on his own. 12 points in his performace against Burnley was supplemented by threes from Turner and Bell (not a solicitors or estate agents company) and 1 from Destiny Udogie.
It matters not we suppose, where the points come from, only that they come and our 63 was 14 points above the weekly average of 49 and lifts us to 27,566 overall – and the lofty position of SECOND IN THE WORLD (amongst Bonaire, Saint Eustatius and Saba residents).
Our Gameweek 7 Result
We have £1.6mln in the bank and 2 free transfers to use ahead of Gameweek 8. Let’s go see what was decided.
Our Gameweek 8 Transfer(s)
With a couple of nasty flags and a general malaise on Marcus Rashford, we looked to use our two moves this week for a little refresh. With the match being away to Luton on Saturday, we wanted to supplement our already-owned James Maddison with some additional Spurs. We bring in Heung-min Son for the aforementioned Rashford and to make it work, we double-up on Newcastle who are on top of the world just now and bring in Fabian Schar – fresh from his goal against PSG in midweek*
* This was a split vote with Dan Burn and the author carries the sole responsibility for the final choice – prepare for fireworks!
To confirm then we have SOLD SVEN BOTMAN & MARCUS RASHFORD and BOUGHT FABIAN SCHAR & HEUNG-MIN SON
Captain – HEUNG-MIN SON
Early kick-off? Pah! We reckon Spurs at Luton is just too good on paper.
Erling Haaland is only vice captain (*shock emoji*)

PREDICTED LINE-UPS
Back by popular demand! Well, sort of… Drafthound have changed their line-up approach this season and what it means for us is that we are no longer able to display a live feed of it on here due to some technical difficulties. That said, what they have done looks great and is still only a click away so if you want to access those they are HERE

Hey Guys,Looks like I’m gonna need a major Wildcard Surgery squad! Onana is in goal. Need Advice with upcoming fixtures in mind!
Looks as colourful as my team.
I’m taking a -8 hit to get some fit players on the pitch
Site team going strong. I’ve activated my WC after an appaling start. This is where I’m at. Had trippier in initially but decided to take him out as my team value isn’t good and it makes my bench to weak. Not too sure on neto but not sure which other way to go. Could go Luis Diaz over salah which allows me to go elsewhere but I think if I’m wildcarding then I should go for salah. Any thoughts?
I am also on WC. Putting Salah just makes rest of team weaker so I went with Diaz and was able to put trippier, Alvarez and Bowen.. I like the Newcastle fixtures and I think diaz is reasonably safe. Also put porro instead of udogie
Also kept 1m itb to get back saka in 2-3 weeks time.
Yea I’m gonna be Wildcarding too,I’ve Onana in Goal, I don’t want to be accused of coping it team so I’m in need of advice with upcoming fixtures in mind!
You’ll probably not find anyone making an entire WC team for you! Where are you up too with it now? And we can take it from there.
The latest from around the pressers
Mbuemo or Sterling?
I’m currently playing Mbuemo and benched Sterling but I can’t help but feel like Chelsea Vs Burnley (A) MIGHT be a punt…?
Sterling for me.
+1
Cheers lads
Please RMT – Cheers!
I say roll the transfer, looks good
1 FT and 0.0 ITB
Is it worth taking a hit? The plan is to downgrade Bruno to Neto/Douglas Luiz and upgrade Morris to Watkins.
Or, just leave as that and regroup with 2 FT after the IB?
Take the hit!
I think morris was purely brought in for the dgw and he atleast returned. But don’t see need for him anymore. And I ran out of patience with the entire Manu team and removed Rashford and Onana on WC despite their good fixtures. If they suddenly find form, then no regrets removing them.
Agree with this, plus not WC when most others are must be dropping your TV pretty badly leaving you with a weak team when you do WC. I left mine rather late and am feeling the pinch. Crazy price swings recently
Thanks guys, I will take the plunge
