Fantasy Football 247 Site Team – Gameweek 8
We all dream of a team of Ollie Watkins’, a team of Ollie Watkins’, a team of Ollie Watkins’ …..
Welcome to FF247 Site Team – Gameweek 8
Guess who our star man was this week! Not that useless Norwegian lump, nor yesterday’s man Mbeumo, James Maddison or anything dressed in a Manchester United clown suit.
Sir Oliver of Watkinsbrough. We love you. X
63 points overall with 23 (TWENTY THREE) from Aston Villa striker Watkins, including his second hat trick of the season, as he carried our attacking department. His nearest ‘challenger’ – Jarrod Bowen – was way back on 9 thanks to his goal against Sheffield United.
For Watkins in attack, read Trippier in defence i.e. doing ALL the heavy lifting on his own. 12 points in his performace against Burnley was supplemented by threes from Turner and Bell (not a solicitors or estate agents company) and 1 from Destiny Udogie.
It matters not we suppose, where the points come from, only that they come and our 63 was 14 points above the weekly average of 49 and lifts us to 27,566 overall – and the lofty position of SECOND IN THE WORLD (amongst Bonaire, Saint Eustatius and Saba residents).
Our Gameweek 7 Result
We have £1.6mln in the bank and 2 free transfers to use ahead of Gameweek 8. Let’s go see what was decided.
Our Gameweek 8 Transfer(s)
With a couple of nasty flags and a general malaise on Marcus Rashford, we looked to use our two moves this week for a little refresh. With the match being away to Luton on Saturday, we wanted to supplement our already-owned James Maddison with some additional Spurs. We bring in Heung-min Son for the aforementioned Rashford and to make it work, we double-up on Newcastle who are on top of the world just now and bring in Fabian Schar – fresh from his goal against PSG in midweek*
* This was a split vote with Dan Burn and the author carries the sole responsibility for the final choice – prepare for fireworks!
To confirm then we have SOLD SVEN BOTMAN & MARCUS RASHFORD and BOUGHT FABIAN SCHAR & HEUNG-MIN SON
Captain – HEUNG-MIN SON
Early kick-off? Pah! We reckon Spurs at Luton is just too good on paper.
Erling Haaland is only vice captain (*shock emoji*)

PREDICTED LINE-UPS
Back by popular demand! Well, sort of… Drafthound have changed their line-up approach this season and what it means for us is that we are no longer able to display a live feed of it on here due to some technical difficulties. That said, what they have done looks great and is still only a click away so if you want to access those they are HERE

Great league position for the site team guys – well done
Yep. Great work fellas.
Every year I tell myself to copy it, but no, I’m too clever to do that.
LOOL
Hey guys. How are your teams forming.
Had 3 injured players plus Rashford, Sterling and others were to be removed. So, the WC is active.
How does it look? Any suggestions?
I had 4 injured players. Took a -8 hit to get a team on pitch
Looks solid.
I’d use that 1.1 for Sarr to Neto or Gordon.
What is your desired formation? Looks like you are going 3-5-2 so you’d need to upgrade Sarr. I’d say swap Foden for Bowen and use the remaining funds to upgrade Sarr, or downgrade Trippier to fund your 5th MID
Looks as though you need to upgrade somewhere as you have 4 outfield players that you’d bench most weeks, unless Sarr always plays. I’d spread the funds and upgrade him or a defender
I’d lose Foden and Sarr bud
On my Wildcard and is it worth Dropping Watkins and Bowen to improve elsewhere
Currently thinking
Watkins, Bowen, Anderson, Lampty > Archer, Maddison, JWP, Andersen
Both leave me with 0.6 ITB
Current team below
I think that looks very well balanced. Wouldn’t change a thing mate.
I’d stick with the Watkins / Bowen combo.
Think Watkins and Bowen are solid long term picks with their fixtures.. I too put them on WC.
Cheers lads
morning all. hope you have a good GW.
this is me after taking one hit. son, burn and cash in -> chilly, etsu and saka out (originally was going to take rashford out instead of saka. hoping to bring back saka after the break either on the FT or wildcard)
am i good to go? right to bench gviardol?
That looks about right.
thank you inittowinit
Hi all,
here we go, pretty template. Waiting for the late news on Diaby thou. Defence is quite light, just want to save some money for the upcoming transfers. Plan is to save FT GW9, and reassess the team after that (BHA, LIV, ARS probably very tempting). Any thoughts on this quite dull mainstream WC?
Covers pretty much all you need to. Only really Trippier missing but with Salah that’s difficult.
Right, with my team value can’t afford Trippier.
I think for your money, that’s pretty balanced
This is me for the week. Start Saka over Mitoma? And Areola over Flekken?
That’s what I’d do
If Arteta start Saka after 3 injury scares in a row he will be lynched. Most likely to get the last 20 minutes if any.
+1 . my thoughts too
With IB coming, I think Saka starts in such a huge game.
Reg, I would be very surprised. Arteta received tones of criticism on Tuesday night after he risked him with already obvious signs of problems in the previous two games.
