Fantasy Football 247 FPL Team – GW2

Tips fantasy footballGW1 for the FF247 team resulted in a solid, but not spectacular 66pts. The highlights were certainly in the midfield where Ramsey, Fabregas and Sigurdsson all contributed double-figure returns, while two of our strikers, Rooney and Costa both scored – Rooney as captain doubled his tally to 14pts. There were a few disappointments also – United’s shocking home loss meant just 3pts combined from De Gea and Mata, while Chambers and Caulker, who we were hoping for clean sheets from, let us down by both conceding at home to Palace and Hull, respectively. Our third striker Jovetic brought home just 2pts and is a concern, especially with Aguero making a late impact as a goal scoring substitute. Fortunately, we weren’t left frustrated with points on the bench, with O’Shea and Ward scoring just a point each and Myhill and El Ahmadi not playing.

We have decided to hold our transfer for this week and run with what we have got for GW2, giving our underperforming players another chance to deliver. This gives us another week to study form and consistency of selection and of course two free transfers to look forward to next time. Jovetic we need to monitor, while we will also keenly keep an eye on Aguero when City host Liverpool on Monday evening. Our third striker is an interesting situation and if we decide to move early into Aguero, we will need to raise funds, but that is a thought for next week. We are fortunate that we own Fabregas and Siggy, two of the most popular transfers by managers leading into GW2. Mata has been a popular seller in FPL this week, but we feel relaxed in keeping him in this week, on the assumption that LVG has spent the week laying into his side and demanding an improvement.

Calum Chambers is another to keep a close eye on as Mertesacker nears a return, but we have cover on the bench if necessary so will look forward to ride the Chambers train as long as possible.

So it’s an unchanged squad and an unchanged starting XI this week –

Captain
With Chelsea impressing at Burnley in GW1, it was a simple decision in handing Costa the armband this week as he makes his home league debut vs Leicester. A goal on his debut will have settled any nerves or doubts the striker had of adjusting to life in the Premier League and we are hoping he kicks on vs the Foxes. Should something unexpected happen Costa and he does’t play then our Vice-captain is Sigurdsson at home to Burnley as we feel both form and fixture favour him over the others such as Rooney or Mata.

REPOST from yesterday (Don’t think anyone noticed 😛 )
Hi, I have a suggestion to the mods for an article topic.

I’ve seen a lot of interest in the information about team value and a lot of people asking questions about it. Some people are giving some good answers however I think most of the new people are misconceiving the information they receive. For example when your team value rises because of a player, you don’t automatically have that money extra in the bank, the player whose price has risen needs to be sold for you to have that money.

Well that’s my understanding of it anyway.
Not sure if this suggestion has been made or if the idea is already floating about

    Raziel says:

Are there changes you would make to my team?:
    DDG (A-Sun)
    Pieters (A-Hull) – Terry (H-Lei) – Hutton (H-New)
    Ramsey (A-Eve) – Mata (A-Sund) – Fabregas (H-Lei) – SIggy (H-Bur)
    Rooney (A-Sun) – Jovetic (H-Liv) – Costa (H- Lei)

Subs: Gilks – Chambers – Albrighton – Baird

Don’t like the fact certain players are dropping (such as Mata and Jovetic) and others are rising (Clyne). However, don’t think I will use a FT this GW.

      Raziel says:

Hmmm, I think players can rise 0.3m every week? It was that way last year. Maybe this season they can only rise once every 2 days? Could make sense.

Agree Raz your team looks good

      • Raziel says:

Only doubts are Jovetic and Chambers. Arsenal sort of sucked against Besiktas yesterday. >.<

        • Silverback says:

Hi Raz I have same problem with Chambers but leaving him in untill @ least nk wk , Jovetic will get game time but dont thk he will play full match Yes Ars Sucked

        • Raziel says:

People going full out on Kun is also a bit crazy. He might injure himself during warming-up. 😉

        • Raziel says:

Hmmm, was planning on an early WC this season, but as my team stands now I really don’t have to. Using it would be crazy, my midfield is perfect (I could maybe do Albrighton to JWP, however unsure if I need him, would just be for value rise I guess). DDG should do better, Stoke will keep CS’s, Chelsea will keep CS’s, everything is just ok. Jovetic out next GW though, for whom? I don’t know yet. HOping Pelle will find form.

Help! First year ever playing. I would love some advice…

      Raziel says:

Team looks good. Get rid of Shaw first I’d say. Oww shit, you also have Luis… Hmmm, 2 non playing highly expensive individuals. Shaw to Jones and Luis to Terry or Cahill?

      • Yeah, absolutely that defence has to be sorted. In Luis, Shaw and Mariappa you have three defenders that didn’t play! Like Raz says, Shaw needs to be addressed primarily. At least the others have a ‘chance’ to play. Could do worse than Debuchy or a Swansea defender.

      • Hyper Fuse says:

Is it worth doing my free transfer as well as a another points transfer?

        • Andy says:

Not yet no, Shaw will have to go but we can wait on Luis and Mariappa till after the managers press conference’s to see if we get any indication on whether or not they’ll play, if either still look unlikely to feature I would probably take the -4 to get a starting eleven playing this weekend.

        • Hyper Fuse says:

thank you! who would you recommend for shaw?

        • inittowinit says:

Hyper, Andy is spot on. I’m not sure we will get much info on either though unfortunately. One still has no manager and Jose won’t give info out like that. I’d go with the possibility of almost certainly having to take a hit. As it’s a hit in order to field 11 players instead of 10 whilst not ideal the reality is that they only have to recover you 2 points assuming they get 2 for playing so no big deal real.

        • Hyper Fuse says:

so if I were to lose his or Marriapa who would u recommend I pick up?

        • Hyper Fuse says:

thinking about grabbing Steven Pienaar for Shaw…thoughts?

        • Kop Warrior says:

Pienaar is a midfielder and Shaw is a defender, so not sure how that will work!

        • Calvin Clyne says:

Alas Hyper, that’s not possible as you can only transfer a defender for a defender. Koscielny would be my suggestion for Shaw, or Debuchy if you’d like to bank the 0.5. Bear in mind Kos is possibly going to rise in value tonight so keep an eye on his progress on totalfpl.com if you fancy getting him, and make the transfer before the prices change at about 2am UK time.

        • Hyper Fuse says:

          amazing call…thank you!

I think I should change out Mariappa as well…thoughts?

and finally I have Gayle I wanted to eventually move away from?

        • Calvin Clyne says:

Wow didn’t realise your defender dilemma at first mate. I think a hit here is fully justified, as at the moment yo only have Ferdinand likely to start. Luis could come through if you’re willing to chance it, and you’d be rewarded with a nice home fixture if you do and he plays. Your best bet though is probably to get your big money working for you though, so I’d look at swapping out both Shaw and Luis, which gives you a tasty 12.0 to spend as you please.

That should be your priority, and then in future GWs look to take care of Sandro, Gayle and your other two benched defenders. Not too much use worrying about it now as things can shift in one GW, so look at who the best candidates for replacement will be closer to the time.

        • Hyper Fuse says:

Thank you all….and thank you Calvin!
I picked up Koscielny and dropped shaw…waiting to see about another transfer for luis or Mariappa.
