Fantasy Football 247 FPL Team – GW2
GW1 for the FF247 team resulted in a solid, but not spectacular 66pts. The highlights were certainly in the midfield where Ramsey, Fabregas and Sigurdsson all contributed double-figure returns, while two of our strikers, Rooney and Costa both scored – Rooney as captain doubled his tally to 14pts. There were a few disappointments also – United’s shocking home loss meant just 3pts combined from De Gea and Mata, while Chambers and Caulker, who we were hoping for clean sheets from, let us down by both conceding at home to Palace and Hull, respectively. Our third striker Jovetic brought home just 2pts and is a concern, especially with Aguero making a late impact as a goal scoring substitute. Fortunately, we weren’t left frustrated with points on the bench, with O’Shea and Ward scoring just a point each and Myhill and El Ahmadi not playing.
We have decided to hold our transfer for this week and run with what we have got for GW2, giving our underperforming players another chance to deliver. This gives us another week to study form and consistency of selection and of course two free transfers to look forward to next time. Jovetic we need to monitor, while we will also keenly keep an eye on Aguero when City host Liverpool on Monday evening. Our third striker is an interesting situation and if we decide to move early into Aguero, we will need to raise funds, but that is a thought for next week. We are fortunate that we own Fabregas and Siggy, two of the most popular transfers by managers leading into GW2. Mata has been a popular seller in FPL this week, but we feel relaxed in keeping him in this week, on the assumption that LVG has spent the week laying into his side and demanding an improvement.
Calum Chambers is another to keep a close eye on as Mertesacker nears a return, but we have cover on the bench if necessary so will look forward to ride the Chambers train as long as possible.
So it’s an unchanged squad and an unchanged starting XI this week –

Captain
With Chelsea impressing at Burnley in GW1, it was a simple decision in handing Costa the armband this week as he makes his home league debut vs Leicester. A goal on his debut will have settled any nerves or doubts the striker had of adjusting to life in the Premier League and we are hoping he kicks on vs the Foxes. Should something unexpected happen Costa and he does’t play then our Vice-captain is Sigurdsson at home to Burnley as we feel both form and fixture favour him over the others such as Rooney or Mata.

Guys is this okay for GW 2??

I think you’ve got a strong enough first XI bank a transfer this week, Nishant. You may need that extra TF for when Mertesacker gets back and jeopardizes Chambers position.
nishant
Cheers mate. Exactly what i was thinking. I am saving my FT this week. Plus i am stuck if i should play Steven davis over F.Campbell thus going for a 3-5-2
what do u think mate? Campbell or Davis?
Bryan Munich [@bry_cooper]
I’d lean towards Campbell personally. They’ll be at home with a new manager to impress.
nishant
Hmmmm. Thanx for your view mate. Appreciated.
A good luck to you for GW 2
Bryan Munich [@bry_cooper]
No problem Nishant. Don’t know if this image will upload (been having issues) but the image on the left shows Davis’ average position (no. 8) and the right shows Campbell’s average position (no. 10). Gives you an idea of which occupies the most advanced positions.
Tyse
That display which shows player positioning during a game is just what I need, Bryan. ;c)) May I ask where you got it from?? ;c)) Does it cover all the teams??
Cheers!!

How does my team look for GW2?
Currently saving my transfer. Or do you think I should use my FT somewhere? Any suggestions are highly appreciated.

My posts were disrespectful and unacceptable last Saturday. Having been a member of the FFC forum and a part of what you guys have established here subsequently, there is no doubt that this site is head and shoulders above.
I respect the fact that you did not ban me Cookie – our respectful repartee over the past couple of years obviously means something (or you forgot to!)
Facepalm – any differences you have with me can be dealt with direct by email. Cookie please feel free to provide my address to him/her.
Cheers, Deano

Damn! i think i missed it. :cuckoo:
Raziel
HAHAHA. You missed a lot.
The B
Would love a link to the drama
Whats up with this new obsession with apes?
Raziel
A picture of a monkey is worth more than a thousand words 😉
Naaah, don’t think the mods here will like it if I do. Think they rather forget about it… me linking it will probably make them grumpy… 😉
And when they are grumpy they tend to take it out on me.
Calvin Clyne
Raz I do wonder if you will ever tire of this monkey business (see what I did there…). I’ve tried ignoring it but it seems you won’t quit of your own accord. We need some sort of intervention people. And yes, I realise that bringing attention to it just enables him, but I don’t know what else to do.
Raziel
Hmmm, you might be right. Spiders it is… 😉
Raziel
In my mind he’s holding a mini-CalvinClyne by the way… 😉
My photoshop skills are not up to par to put ya in it ”yet”.
nishant
Hey if its not a problem then would you reply to the below post regarding Steven Davis or F.Campbell’s starting line up selection?? I would be grateful
Cookie
Deano, i’ll email you later
TheAshesAreOurs
Cool mate.
nishant
Davis plays West brom at home while Campbell plays West Ham home too. West brom drew 2-2 Against Sunderland. On the other hand we know that the Hammers defence is stubborn. So Campbell or Davis?
TheAshesAreOurs
Davis definitely – he’s far more advanced.
nishant
Thanx for your opinion. He also came close to scoring a goal against liv’pool.
elleffcee (ex champ with a potty prize)
Yeah, you tell ’em, but he didn’t score did he.

Sorry, posted wrongly above. B)
How does my team look for GW2?

Its good. No need for using your transfers. Austin is still good even though he missed the penalty last day. I would go with this team mate
The Mighty Whites
I’d do Chambers to Robertson
Raziel
Hazard is still in your team. You brave soul.
Raziel
ps. that was a joke, my last comment. replacing him now would be crazy.
Anyway, got to go. GOod luck mate. Only change I’d make is Chambers, but that can wait another week so you have got 2 FT’s. Good job, good team. Now off. Cya.
The B
Thanks guys.
Yes Raz, I started thinking that Haz>Fab is just a sideways move.
Bryan Munich [@bry_cooper]
I can see Haz and Fab to-ing and fro-ing all season in terms of points. Probably won’t be much to choose between them come next May.
TheAshesAreOurs
Does anyone still have Bojan?
BennyB
Yeah, me!
Wasn’t prepared to take a hit to bring in Berahino… we’ll see if that pays the off?
