Fantasy Football 247 FPL Team – GW2
GW1 for the FF247 team resulted in a solid, but not spectacular 66pts. The highlights were certainly in the midfield where Ramsey, Fabregas and Sigurdsson all contributed double-figure returns, while two of our strikers, Rooney and Costa both scored – Rooney as captain doubled his tally to 14pts. There were a few disappointments also – United’s shocking home loss meant just 3pts combined from De Gea and Mata, while Chambers and Caulker, who we were hoping for clean sheets from, let us down by both conceding at home to Palace and Hull, respectively. Our third striker Jovetic brought home just 2pts and is a concern, especially with Aguero making a late impact as a goal scoring substitute. Fortunately, we weren’t left frustrated with points on the bench, with O’Shea and Ward scoring just a point each and Myhill and El Ahmadi not playing.
We have decided to hold our transfer for this week and run with what we have got for GW2, giving our underperforming players another chance to deliver. This gives us another week to study form and consistency of selection and of course two free transfers to look forward to next time. Jovetic we need to monitor, while we will also keenly keep an eye on Aguero when City host Liverpool on Monday evening. Our third striker is an interesting situation and if we decide to move early into Aguero, we will need to raise funds, but that is a thought for next week. We are fortunate that we own Fabregas and Siggy, two of the most popular transfers by managers leading into GW2. Mata has been a popular seller in FPL this week, but we feel relaxed in keeping him in this week, on the assumption that LVG has spent the week laying into his side and demanding an improvement.
Calum Chambers is another to keep a close eye on as Mertesacker nears a return, but we have cover on the bench if necessary so will look forward to ride the Chambers train as long as possible.
So it’s an unchanged squad and an unchanged starting XI this week –

Captain
With Chelsea impressing at Burnley in GW1, it was a simple decision in handing Costa the armband this week as he makes his home league debut vs Leicester. A goal on his debut will have settled any nerves or doubts the striker had of adjusting to life in the Premier League and we are hoping he kicks on vs the Foxes. Should something unexpected happen Costa and he does’t play then our Vice-captain is Sigurdsson at home to Burnley as we feel both form and fixture favour him over the others such as Rooney or Mata.
Heres a slightly tougher one:- Who was the first non British Isles player to score a goal in a Merseyside derby?
Cahill
Nope Deano.
Craig Johnston??
Nope Pokey.
Is Ireland part of the British Isles?
Yip.
Not according to Rory it’s not!
Not according to Kop, Gasco and the rest from southern Ireland, Northern Ireland is part of the British Isles , not Ireland
Tim Cahill
Hello ^
Nope Silvers, but already had that answer off Deano.
Jan Molby?
How far we going back? I know Grobbelaar scored an own goal in the derby in the 80’s as i had an Everton mate who found it hilarious! If it’s further back then god knows!
Correct Hatters, own goal in the 84/85 charity shield.
I hated that clown, i went to see Southampton v Luton in the f.a cup and we lost 6-1 and on top of that humiliation Grobbelaar kept reminding us of the score with hand gestures! … The hand gestures he got back were more than colourful!
Hatters he was brilliant in that european cup shootout v Roma in their own back yard in 84, you must give him credit for that at least.
Thoughts on Tadic’s debut?
i think he looked comfortable – did’t appear bothered by the English game like some imports. when i play my wildcard (GW#3) i may consider him when i downgrade my midfield to make my attack stronger.
Cheers mate, I watched about 20 mins and agree with you. Looked classy and measured.
Tadic looked good against us, but for me Southampton’s best player was JWP.
I also think Tadic looked good, but Cabella looked even more promising for Newcastle.
Heres the last one for tonight :- Who was the only player to play for England in the 1960s, 1970s and 1980s?
Tony Greig.
Com on Deano lad, footy.
Moore
Nope.
Crazy horse
Thats correct Silvers, well in mate. Now listen up everyone, i’ve gotta get off so i’ll text Init with Seamans l5th team + the merseyside derby question, cheers all.
I just read in WSC that Hughes was still playing with “South Yorkshire side Wombwell Town during their Central Midlands League 1992-93 campaign”. That’s some span, hats off to him
Ray Clemence
Manchester United have confirmed signing of Marcos Rojo.
Thank goodness, now I can go to bed!
I can unhack the manutd.com a/c now then :hippo:
Wonder what Rojo will be priced at? and guessing he will be a starter?
6.0 surely.
Agree.
i’m guessing 5.5 – 6.0? i think he’ll start right away but who knows once they get everyone back healthy. can’t imagine them spending that much for a backup, right?
Lawdy, what did Chelski spend on Luis, did he start v Burnley ?
true but Chelski’s defense isn’t decimated by injuries like ManU
Terrible start from me, Sterling goes up 0.1 so can’t afford him now, back to the drawing board…
Jovetic -> Dzeko for -4 worth it?
Not for me as there’s a chance that both will start against Liverpool.
Im thinking that Aguero will get the nod after bagging and because it is vs Liv. Or do you know something I don’t haha?

Try to avoid hits personally, but in this case Yes
cheers!
Fally, don’t do it, i think Pelligrini won’t risk Kun against our defence, we will kick him to another injury.
